  1. Ooops, I guess I should have answered this...Probobly 3 - 4 hours outside of toronto would be great.
  2. Hi. I want to take my son fishing again. He wants to go on the boat and catch some fish :-) Was wondering if there are any decent places to camp and boat. just looking for a few small bass to keep the little one interested. The ideal place would be a campground (I have a trailer) that we could stay at, preferably right on the waterfront. Thanks all!
  3. Thanks all! can't wait to toss some lures at that lake...
  4. Hi, I have been invited to a cottage on Paudash lake, and was wondering what the fishing is like..ANy tips always appreciated.
  5. Hey guys, I tried this out last weekend and it worked just fine. I had to open it up to 3/4 or full throttle to get any speed out of it. I manages to get about 5mp or so with me, the wife and 2 little ones in the inflatable. There was a little chop on the water, so this did ok. 1 weird thing that happened. I was cruising at full throttle, then without warning, the motor just stalled. It took me a few pulls to get it started. I was scared to open it up again, as we wer far from shore and didnt want to get us stranded. Anything I should check? Any reason why this might have happened?
  6. Hey, I recently purchased a used 12 ft zodiac type inflatable with removable floor with a 9.9 engine. The boat is rated for up to 2400 lbs and 55HP motor if you need to go fast. The boat (withoout the floor) is about 20 minutes to setup. With the floor, add another 15-20 minutes. This is not a pool toy. The boat itself weighs about 100 - 110 lbs, the floor weighs 80-90 lbs. The 9.9 I have is a 4 stroke so it also weighs around 100 lbs. The boat is super stable, and the 9.9 pushes it well...my guess is 20 mph or so. Its good for fishin 2 or 3(max) people. There are a bunch on ebay. With the solid floor, 2 guys can stand and cast all day. Its a great machine if you dont mind the extra setup and tear down. The boat, floor, motor fit in the back of my midsize truck with room to spare. There are some deals on kijiji if you go that way.
  7. Thanks Glen. I hope I can break the 5MPH speed record with it..well see!
  8. Hey, I had a look at the motor, seems the condition and price are right. I set up on my boat. Seems to sit low enough..what do you think?
  9. Instead of dialing the 800 number, maybe try locating the office and calling directly. Maybe the president can be contacted.
  10. I already have a 9.9 that works great. I just like to have something light to get in those back lakes.
  11. Hey guys, all this being said, is a 2001 (approx) yamaha 2 Horsepower 2 stroke a decent engine? A guy has one for sale here and want to go look at it.
  12. Hi, would it be possible to use a short shaft motor on my 12 foot zodiac? The manual recomends a 35 HP longshaft. I am looking a very small trolling motor 2 horsepower, 2 stroke. Since this would never get up on plane, would this be ok to use? I understand this wont go too fast, just want it for trolling around some small lakes.
  13. X2. I played around with the patriarch at the store, and it looked like an awesome reel. Super light and well built. I went with the CI4 for the same reason above. So far I have not been disappointed.
  14. Wow, great pictures...AWESOME BROOKIES. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Thanks solo..I just did some research as I have never heard of this lake! looks like a great place to try next time as I have never been on that side of the park. Its a bit too far for this one though as we are staying at cabbisbay.
  16. Hi, I am heading to algonquin first week of July. Taking my 6 year old with me. I am bringing my inflatable zodiac with 9.9. My son is excited to get out on the boat! I know there are a few lakes (opeongo, rock, smoke and lake of two rivers) that do allow motors. Could someone give any recomendations? Id like: 1. Best lake to go for a 2 - 3 hour pleasure cruise ...and why 2. Best lake to get a few bass and/or panfish for the little guy. Since we will likely only get out for 3-4 hours, specifics would be great... Thanks all..
  17. Thanks All. I politely urged him to bring cash. He fnally agreed says he will take some out when he gets here. He was a little offended though...
  18. Problem is he is coming from a distance and staying overnight to get here. Does not want to bring cash with him. I guess if the cheque is in my name, could I not just go to a branch at his bank and cash it?
  19. Hi, wondering if anyone has been through this. I am selling an ATV and the person is coming to pick up on Sat. He is bringing a certified Cheque Made out in my name from his bank. I called my bank, and they said they would call the branch on the cheque, but some times the other bank will not verify the funds. In that case, I would be responsible if the cheque bounced. So then, what exactly makes this thing "certified"? If there is no way to verify it? How do you deal when selling stuff? This person is coming a long way, and I have his home and cell number. Im pretty sure it's legit but....
  20. I was up there in July several years ago..I think Roxanne was her name that runs the place. Accomodations were decent. Fishing on their lake was not that great. There was a pike lake about 20 - 30 minutes up the road that was fantastic. Three of us nailed about 100 in a day....No trophies mind you, but a fish every 5 minutes. Don't know if its still like that.
  21. Thanks, That it did! How did you make out?
