  1. I went to the walleyman on sparrow lake about 3 years back. We got a few perch and a bunch of tiny walleye. Nothing to big, but it was okay. Maybe was just a slow day. I'd rather do simcoe.
  2. Thanks, im going to pickup one of the Backroad Mapbooks, and I have been looking at the myccr.com site. If anyone has any suggestions for day trips that may be productive, i'd like to hear! Thanks!
  3. Thanks Syn - I do have a handheld garmin. I would not leave without it. These maps are very helpful..
  4. Hey, ADB, thanks for the tip. I looked at the forum and did find some info. I will be camping at mew lake, and plan to take a day trip via portage and/or canoe to find some spring specks. I'm not in the greatest shape, or the most experienced hiker, but i would love to to get into a few. My plan would be to leave base camp at first light, portage 3 hours or so, fish for 3 hours, then return. Just a rough plan for now. Unfortunatly I have very little experience with algonquin park. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
  5. Hi! Trying to finally pull strings for a few days off to explore algonquin in may. I'm really quite new to this, is there a resource anywhere that outlines the portage/canoe routes and their difficulty? I'm looking at a map and see the routes, but im not sure how long they would take and how difficult they are. Any help apprciated, thanks!
  6. I was fishing a small lake for pan sized trout. I had a little nibble, set the hook and reeled it in. Pulled in a pair of women's panties. no joke. My friends still laugh.
  7. Good for burk to get phaneuf, sad to see Ian white go. Didnt mind Hagman either but totally elated that Blake and toskala are gone! Still gonna be a completly tanked season, nobody can score. I hope giggy can stop a few pucks.
  8. Thanks all! I went to look at a few used today. The good ones seem to be priced pretty high. Im going to look at a new or "newer" one to compare. The ones that were cheap were kind of scary. Canvas was garbage and/or the body had holes/damage. The decent ones seem to be 3000 for something half decent.
  9. lol, good one..reminds me of a few people i know..
  10. Thanks for all the info! Now, I know you can use an electric heater, but in some places I plan to go, there is no power. If the trailer does not have a heater, can a propane one be added safely? I worry about the kids tripping over it at night..
  11. Hi, I've never owned one before, but looking to buy one. To sleep me, the wife and 2 little ones for some summer fishing trips. Looking on kijiji and they're out there for $500 - $9000. Not sure what to look for, maybe someone can offer some guidance...dont want to spend a bundle but dont want complete crap.. Wondering if i'd get a better deal now or wait a bit longer..
  12. Sweet. No idea how you make them so lifelike..
