  1. Hi all, was out casting' and blasting' with the pup yesterday down the logging roads and came across this critter. Only ever seen one other racoon before up here, and that one was dead on the ice.
  2. I don't like Ram trucks because of the ads. Guts and glory? Very DODGY!
  3. LOL....I should delete a few of my waypoints too, when I drift like Bill describes I find myself marking a waypoint as soon as I get a hit and set the Ultra spot lock to on. However, the main waypoints I refer too are structure where the bass play in the fall, depending on the day and conditions you just have to find where they are on that structure. They definitely congregate there in the fall. CARP!!!??? WTH! Do you target the whitefish? They will be in spawning mode now....I need to get down there to do a Rainy River Whitefish video.
  4. AWESOME! HUGE FISHES. I have struggled this year a bit when it comes to bass, they are not as plentiful as most years on my waypoints and the ones I've been getting have been smaller, good to see some nice fat ones being caught!
  5. Live bait under a bobber or a light jig on or around structure close to deeper water works here in the fall.
  6. Thanks JD, Its very tempting to do but would not do it anyway, and even if I did would not be posting a video of it....lol. Video length is something i'm always conscious of, but sometimes I do longer duration vids for my own sake, simply to have the memories rather than retain an audience. I actually know how long on average people watch my videos from my statistics info on my youtube account, it tells you everything just about, and its not long at all, no more than 2 mins tops, having said that I have a modest following of folks that watch the whole thing seconds after I publish one, which is kinda cool. Staffs are my favourite dog ever, have always loved them, such a shame the scum crew like them as an accessory they think makes them tough, and treat the poor animals just as badly if not worse than the people around them. They have a reputation they don't deserve, one of the kindest, funloving gentle breeds I know, awesome family dogs. As for smoking, 3 WEEKS TODAY! Here's my stats for quitting....lol. [
  7. Hi all, spent an hour after work on one of my favourite rocks in the world catching walleye and almost catching a nice pike. I don't think I have ever fished this spot without a pike having a go at the walleye you are landing. Had one go for mine last night a couple of times, ended up sight fishing what must have been a pike that was close to 40".
  8. Yeah, they look like a space invader when trying to write their name in the snow.
  9. Hi all, dropped in to the contractor business that is overseeing a heating job at our house for a progress update, living in a small town I know the manager well and have fished with him a few times, I let his boss beat me in the bass tourney though.....lol. Anyway, Mark says to me they are "hammering crappie " out on Wabigoon at the moment. I had never thought about trying for them in the fall as mostly I am targeting fat fall walleye, and Wabigoon is not my preferred walleye fishery. So.....all week I'm thinking about this at work, then I got the opportunity to get out for a couple hours after work. I had no clue where they were to be found so I decided to head to the deeper spots I find them ice fishing and at ice out.....seems that is where they go this time of year, bite went from erratic to ON FIRE...to who the hell flicked the off switch??? I have fished them open water before at ice out and because they are deeper and the bite can be very light I was using 6lb fluorocarbon main line with an 1/8oz jig on a very light action spin rod, live and plastic baits worked, live bait when the bite was slow, plastic when the bite was on, powerboat 1.5" grubs (pearl) Anyway...good fun and another great fishing opportunity right on my doorstep. Here is the video of my short adventure.
  10. One way to keep folks off your waypoints... lol.... fish fry anyone?
  11. Lol, I have a confession to make, first time for everything I guess, but had to sit over the side of the boat tonight for a #2, was interesting watching the it go down on the fish finder. Ironically I was fishing for crappie.
  12. Hi all, Went out for a couple hours before sunset last week on Eagle Lake. Took Roloff along for the ride, he cracks me up....he actually trembles with anticipation watching the bobber or line waiting for a fish.
  13. Hopefully they will update the e-commerce side of their business and offer the same products to Canadian customers as is available in the US and list them in Canadian currency of the webpage.
  14. Nice one! My schedule is also all over the place with my new job, get it while you can!
  15. Jeeeze, my dad used to make that all the time, have not had oxtail since I was a kid, he stop making it also because of 'mad cow disease', very risky consuming parts of spinal cord with that disease.
  16. Its an old Savage .410, has no clip and they are hard to find, so its a one shot deal....lol....does the trick and got it for $0, can't argue with that. I am waiting for your pictures Rob....come on buddy! Thanks man! I'll be waiting...Ill make my dad's Jamaican peas and rice to go with that.
  17. Thanks Fisherman, more on the way! Come on up, let me know when and we'll destroy some fish if you like. Thanks again DJ, look forward to your fish curry, love me a nice curry. LOL...funny enough Walmart and Canadian Tire are full of it, and some of the stuff they sell would never work here, but I guess they just stock what they are told too most of the time. I do use it occasionally, but I have done the test a hundred times, even when the bite is well and truly on, live bait out fishes the plastic at least 4:1. I use it for crappie now though as it works just as good in some situations and for walleye if I need to conserve bait. I use spinners for bass a lot and micro tubes for whitefish on the ice.....otherwise a nice 4-6" sucker minnow is my go to. If any of you make it up this way, best bait in town is K&A tackle on Government Street, have to give them a shout out because they treat their customers well. I will hopefully be posting more "PISS OFF" videos soon Brian, lol. LOL...never my intention to rub it in, but the road to white bass hell is paved with good intentions....lololol. Was an absolute blast for sure, both boys are local, they grew up fishing, but due to circumstances they rarely get out in a boat, I treated them for sure and they bug me every day to take them out again. Seeing the smiles is always a treat for me too....WIN/WIN. whats a sunfish? (jk) Dude, you have better fishing right on your doorstep, get out there!!!! Like you said, best therapy for every ailment known to man, perhaps with the exception of rabies, gonorrhoea and the plague. Yeah, smallies were like that in the last video I posted, ridiculously boring! I love my slip bobber, its a hang over from sea fishing mackerel back in England. I do find though that in some circumstances it is very effective over other techniques because of fish behaviour or structure you are fishing. In this video I'm just using it for the hell of it, but sometimes it works good because you can set it at the exact depth you want the bait, give a slower presentation or just let the minnow go nuts under there in a specificc area, its good for dropping into pockets in thick weed and not getting hung up, crappie are suckers for a slip bobber etc...etc. Weather wise they are effective to drift your bait over structure in the wind, the wind also gives you jigging motion at the bait end....lots of uses but mainly because I love watching a bobber disappear beneath the surface.
  18. This is my local minnow shop dealer.
  19. You have a pimp for your minnows?
  20. They are fantastic. great for in my minnow tank too to separate species/sizes of minnows, I have three of them. They also came in handy in the tropics, good to keep fresh caught live bait in, or even transport while wading. The fact they fold down to nothing is great too. It was drizzling on and off, the drone is not weather proof so decided to leave it at home.
  21. Hi all, headed up to Lac Seul on Friday to shoot some birds and catch some fish. The grouse were playing shy but I got lucky on the way out when I spotted 3 right at the landing, did not see another single grouse apart from those. I wanted to target bass and they did not disappoint. I also target some walleye which were less enthusiastic than the bass but abundant none the less. The Bass were shallow, the walleye deep and the grouse DELICIOUS!
  22. Great stuff Rick, love the pic of the rod in the mist....y'all can keep the sky raisins though.
  23. Wow, threw your phone in the live well cuz it wouldn't take a picture...temper...temper....lol
  24. Thanks Rick, actually just got in from cleaning the boat out for a trip tomorrow, found a pack in there with 3 in it, boy oh boy.....tempted, but I scrunched therm up and threw them out, not before soaking them with the hose just in case I changed my mind and tried to salvage them....lol.
