  1. Drove my truck to my hut this afternoon. Plenty of ice now.
  2. Oh he is a real . Oops, I was up too late last night. Corrected now.
  3. I have updated the "confirmed" list on the o.p.
  4. I am going to move it on Thurs. About 20' farther back. Looking for 16' under the hut. That will give us 12-18 fow to fish around the hut.
  5. forecast 18 days to the gtg and a great looking forecast for the next 2 weeks.
  6. Boss, as for size it is great. My brother in law got the Clam Command Post for Christmas and we set it up right away. Lots of space inside and the dimensions are the same. Easy set-up and take down too. Not sure about the material though.
  7. I have 2 in my box, one with the side hooks cut off. Never really use either one of them lol.
  8. The walk from the landing is only 5 minutes. It is actually quicker to walk behind the Lighthouse island and come out on the other side.
  9. If you don't attend how will you catch walleye like this? Rod Caster with a Callander Bay beast. Here is the trick photography........
  10. Thank you sir. That is the answer I was looking for.
  11. 1st page inside cover says " This battery charger can be used with conventional and maintenance-free automotive batteries, marine deep-cycle batteries, and AGM gell-cell batteries.............. I have now tried charging it with REMNANT TIME charging which is the default setting. If this doesn't work I'll try the old charger and test the battery.
  12. I went from a MotorGuide cable steer to a MotorGuide wireless and after getting used to it would NEVER go back to cable. I know some tournament guys (bass) love the cable steer and also guys who fish really rough water but for me the electric steer is definately better.
  13. I have a Stowaway Marine/RV deep cycle battery (model ST31DC205) from my trailer that I want to use in my ice hut for my 12v lights and tunes. For Christmas I recieved a MotoMaster Intelligent battery charger. It asks me to input the CCA for optimal charging but the battery only indicates reserve time 205 minutes and 115 Amp hours. I used the battery last year with my old, not intelligent, battery chrager and it worked great. Yesterday I took the battery to the hut and the lights didn't last 30 minutes?????? I had charged it to FULL at 500 CCA as a guess.....but I guess that wasn't enough??? Any ideas?
  14. Good haul. Catching fish is fun regarless of the size.
  15. It is actually easier to find then last year. When you walk out of the launch and get to the end of the dock, turn left (Heading South East). There is an island there with a big white platform on it. There used to be a light house on it but it blew down in a wind storm several years ago. When you get to the island you are looking right at the door of my hut. Here is an old picture of the lighthouse. My hut is almost exactly where the hut is in the picture. Callander Bay Lighthouse My guess is it would be less then 10 minutes to walk. Only a minute in the truck .
  16. 13+" of good ice. I'll be driving my truck now.
  17. O.K. Thanks. That set up is all we ever use unless jigging. Summer time lots of guys use 1/2 red 1/2 white jigs with a stinger hook and refer to them as Nipissing rigs.
  18. Thanks bud.
  19. Good job Lota Lota.
  20. HUT is on the ice! A little further then last year but not as deep. Sitting above 12 fow. Didn't do very well today (1 walleye, 1 perch, 1 pike in 2.5 hrs) but not too concerned. I will move the hut before the 28th if things don't pick up. d-paluch - as of today you could drive your car out but we'll have to watch the slush. The ice will be no problem with vehicles right to the hut. wormdunker - I will take some reference pictures and get directions for you all in the next couple days. I will also start a list of members attending. Nipfisher Rod Caster Joeytier Randy From Sturgeon NAW Livinforfishn Spud7378 Lota Lota BassAsin add your name in this thread if you plan on attending. Confirmation is not required.
  21. Lots of ice on "most" of the lakes. Trucks all over Callander Bay today.
  22. What colours worked best today for you? How deep does Rob have his shacks? Is a Nip rig a red/white jig with a trailer hook? We were out setting up the hut today. No jigging for us but we managed 1 pike, 1 perch, and 1 keeper walleye in 2.5 hrs. I sent you a P.M.
  23. After a short delay my hut will be on the ice tomorrow. I obtained some rigid plastic sheeting last week and decided I should renovate my hut for added warmth and comfort. Here are some of the interior pics from last year with unfinished walls. Here are some new pics from today that show the improovements. I recycled some fibreglass insulation and put in some vapour barrier. Then covered it with the plastic sheeting. My boys were the 1st to decorate the walls and rule is if you sign your name you have to draw a fish. Look at my 2.5 year olds fish above his name.
  24. Sinker, PM him your suggestions. He requested all input and comments.
  25. Slot sized fish must be immediately released. Even if it was dead I am supposed to put it back in. Some real nice fillets on it though.
