I will drive out towards the hut tomorrow and post a report. There is varying ice but from where I have drilled it is all 11" -15" of good ice. The probalem has been the slush. One option for us could be parking on the ice at the bottom of the launch. There are some deep ruts but all trucks would make it down. I will drill several holes tomorrow and take pictures. It will be 100% drive at your own risk....I will provide the info and if you are comfortable then you choose to drive.

I wish there was the "secret to a successful team" in there.

Brian, it is such a short drive to my hut you woint need them. Actually you don't NEED to trailer your quad here at all.

It will only get better Nick. Maybe we will do South Shore one year for better walleye.

I think North Bay has 12 or 13 of them and one just closed in our Canadian Tire store (because the store wouldn't give them more space to expand). Not sure how big Moncton is but North Bay is only 54,000.

After returning to the parking lot I walked out and with no snow on the hard surface with no sleigh to pull it was a 3 minute walk.

I go to Timmies today and place my order to the lady. I asked for a large double double. She says "are you aweare of our new sizes?" I said yes I am. She then says "so you would still like a large double double?" I said yes please. So I pull up to the window and she hands me this.... They have known about this for months and still use XL lids? That is where it is going to be confusing for customers.

Drove out a little ways today, just past the end of the dock and rounded the corner towards the hut. Lots of ice but still breaking through the top layer and into the slush. It has tightened up around the hut and will be good for Sat. BRING CLEATS!

B.B. get one of those pre-paid return envelopes and stuff it FULL of other junk mail and send it back. Do that with every pre-paid envelope you get and the mailings will stop.

I use a Lowrance HDS-5 with the PPP-1 accessory (portable power pack) for ice fishing and also use it on my boat all year. They are expensive units but can be used all year round. Also Terry will tell you they are AWESOME.

Just bring a couple bags of chips or snacks. Hut is over 13 feet of water. We will fish an area from 11 - 16 fow. Perch have been active using smaller presentations and small minnows. Hopefully the fish cooperate and keep us busy. Pike have been plentiful around my hut this year. We have caught at least 1 walleye almost every time we have been there. Most guys doing well are 25-30 feet of water for walleye but would have been too far to have people walk out for the gtg.

I will provide the condiments, and a case of water. Rod Caster will bring hot dog buns, and water. Spud7378 is bringing weiners, and peperettes. Motion is bringing hot dog buns and weiners. NAW is bringing 8 burgers and buns. Livinisfisn will bring cheese slices and some pop/juice. Duckdog is bringing the portable bar-b-que (tank is at the hut but no hose). He will also have his ATV with him for rides in / out. Lota Lota will bring another pack of burgers and buns.

Shut it! Looks like a dozen minnows is on the line for this game Kev. You know who I"m picking.

There is only a small cast iron frying pan in the hut.

It was a bit soft today but it will be better for Sat. Might be slippery though.

Wel after the + temps. and rain here is what Callander Bay looked like today. It was slushy today but according to the forecast it will tighten up for the gtg. I think we will need ice cleats. You can see my white hut (brown door) in front of the island.
