Awesome, them bass boats have a way of loosing stuff. Lost lots of hats clothing etc out of mine but its mostly guests that loose their stuff. Cameras, lunch etc.

I lost a monster largie in a tournament 10 yrs ago. Heavy down pour all day. My hands were raw from all the rain and lipping dinks all day. Flipped a weightless tube in beside a beaver house and got a hit set the hook hard and all hell broke loose. My buddy grabs the net. Mud sticks flying around everywhere. Then a big jump and my line snaps. My buddy turns around and looks at me with eyes the size of saucers and say that the biggest largie ive ever seen had to be 8 or 9 lber. I didnt see it cause he was in the way. I said ya right Ray that was a northern right. No a monser largie, and I feel like i'm gonna puke.Been back to that same spot several times since then and nuttin. True story.

The largies are relatively small compared to the smallies in this lake. The smallies are big and fat and really strong.

I prefer a tube jig with a 60 degree eye versus the regular 90 degree eye. Better action and less line twist.I buy them from my local bass shop who makes them using Gammy hooks. 1/16 to 1/4 oz sizes covers most applications for me. Some times I cast an pop em and other times I cast and drag slowly, or just cast and slightly shake them. You have to figure out what action the fish prefer. As for colours my favorites are watermelon, pumpkinseed and shad colours. For flippin tubes my favorite colour is black with blue fleck or watermellon.Black and blue 5 inch flipping tube rigged weedless with a 5/0 EWG gammy weightless is my big fish bait when the largies are in shallow water with thick cover.

I spent 2 weeks float fishing on the Vedder River in Chilliwack last summer. Has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever fished. I was blown away by the amount of garbage all along the shoreline. All fishing related garbage. The locals have 2, 1 day river cleanups after freshet and the amount of garbage is awfull, were talking tons. Everyone blames everyone else about the litter problem. The locals say it the people from Vancouver. I talked to alot of locals on the flow and watched some of them walk away and leave their empty roe containers and other crap behind.

What do the raptors, leafs argos and blue jays have in common besides playing in Toronto? None of them can play HOCKEY.

I have a neighbour who walks her dog past my house every day, and it seems everyday her dog chits on my lawn. So when I go out to cut my grass I have to pick it up first or I get filtered try again please all over my lawnmower tires. This has been going on for years and finally I noticed her coming out of her driveway one day as I was driving by. Right on now I know where she lives. In early june I picked up a bag and delivered it to her front step one evening. I taped a note to it that said" I believe this belongs to you, I am the guy on the corner by the beach where your dog relieves himself when you walk him" She no longer walks on my side of the street when she passes by

Lots of marine mechanics are professionals when it comes to fixing them, but are not so professional when it comes to setting them up. Just saying.

I used to use Picasso's which I really like but they must of changed their materials because they seem to be of poor quality as of late so I don't buy them any more. The Terminators are good but pricey. I checked CL spinnerbaits and they look good. The sassy shad looks like a killer bait, might have to give them a try. I bought some of the Izumi bleeding shad I think they were called and they were junk. Think they were made by Strikeking. Couldn't get any of them to run right and the skirts were cheap. I have a few Reef Runners I bought a few years ago in the 1 and 11/2 sizes they work great for deeper water and ripping in shallower water but I cant remember where I bought them and can't seem to find them in my area.

Hi guys. Was fishing on the weekend and realized my spinnerbait selection is in sad shape. Tied on a Boyou bait and lost a nice fish because my spinnerbait broke in half. First time that has ever happened, the wire broke on the business end. Also the skirts on a few brand new out of the package Strike King spinnerbaits came off on the first fish. I guess the small elastic bands broke. What is with this at 7 bucks a piece and they fall apart after one fish. Were talking smallies here and not pike. So I was wondering if anyone on here makes quality spinnerbaits and would like to sell some. If anyone is interested let me know and maybe we can do some business. Im tired of buying junk and figure I will try the custom bait route and see how that goes. Thanks

Mike and Pete, have you guys tried calling and speaking to someone at the manufacturer? Tell them your problem and what you have and they should be able to email you a schematic or a photo of a proper set up. I can pretty well gaurantee you they won't be telling you that you need tabs
-
Maybe thats why you got a smoking deal on that boat Mike.

Just another reason our ohip is in the state its in. Better get a specialist to fish that out for you, when any RN can do it.

Don't tar us with the same brush Pigeontroller. Theres just more show offs with fast bass boats. Same thing as with muscle cars.

What was wrong with that? Looked like a nice pickeral chop which is perfect for running a bass boat. Fishing and speed go together so nice. And I love the feeling you get from a V6 2 stroke. So much torque, its sic. Not so nice when your the passenger and the pilot is just learning, can be down right frightening. Not insinuating anything Mercman just saying.

Ive been around boats for over 40 yrs and have never seen an aluminum under 20 ft with trim tabs. Also have never experienced any tinny or bassboat with porpoising problems that cant be fixed by adjusting the height of the motor or putting the right prop on it. Not saying that tabs dont work but there not required. Now my cruiser without tabs and you would be screwed, it has to have them.(hydraulic)

Go with a transom mount, since its a communal boat. Or maybe a bowmount with hand steering and take it off when not in use.A platform also takes up bow seating and may be an issue.
-
Im thinking raising the motor one increment at a time and trying it would do the trick. These boats don't need trim tabs, just have to have the motor set up properly.

For sure Bill. I love that kind of smallie fishing. They are usually on the bite when the waves are crashing on the shoals. But its good to have someone else on board that knows their way around the boat and can take over the trolling motor when need be. I know alot of seasoned anglers who won't bother fishing these conditions because its tough fishing. I have won tourneys in half an hour buy using this method. Ripping spinnerbaits or crayfish coloured cranks.
