  1. Whenever you get here...beer and pizza as payment??? Lol
  2. Will and Geoff...thanks a lot!!! Since you couldn't help with that, you can come over and help me move a recliner sofa from my basement to the main floor instead!!! Lol
  3. Ok...I decided to get a programmable thermostat...all the other ones I've wired in the past were easy...just match the exact wire colours to the corresponding lead. My existing thermostat has a 5 wire system... The new one has only 4 leads... The instructions to install says "If you have 2 R wires (which I do...RH for heat and RC for air cond), then connect each wire to its corresponding terminal and remove the jumper" between the RH and RC terminals". So, here's where I'm confused.... 1) I do not see "corresponding terminals" on the new 4 lead thermostat. 2) The jumpers (see pic below) are not labelled RH and RC...they read RE and HG, which from the instructions say it's for electric or gas systems. The instructions also say "depending on your system, you may need to connect 2 to 9 to the thermostat", but then do not tell you how to do that.... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  4. Maybe this website can help... http://www.seafoamsales.com/how-to-use-sea-foam-motor-treatment.html It tells how to use it depending on what your needs are....there is also a video there.... Good luck!
  5. Wow...that's insane!!!
  6. Five years old?? That's so great! He's well on his way to being quite the outdoorsman with your guidance
  7. Get the "Guide to Precision Trolling"! Shows lures, depth and line info, with weights and without in graphical format. Shows exact size pictures of the cranks if you don't know all their names etc. Its a must have in my opinion...great information.
  8. Lol Miracon...he means just pics of people holding fish. This is a family site after all! And Geoff knows I work for Crappy Tire...lol
  9. Hey now! What exactly are you saying Geoff???? Lol Good luck Miracon. Please come back and tell us how you did! Did we mention we like pictures??? Haha.
  10. Nah...you are "economical" lol My "projects" are functional and not decorative!!!
  11. Telling people who are habitually late that we are leaving a half hour before I intend to pull out of the driveway!
  12. Who does that??? Ok, I did the first time I launched lol. Good thing the boat was still on the trailer when I realized it! Oops!!! Thing is, I must have told myself a hundred times not to forget it...
  13. You could get an outdoor electrical box if you find one big enough and mount that...just in case you don't want to peel off silicone every time you need to fiddle with the connections...should be able to find one that is big enough for a small splitter...
  14. My condolences...he looked like a great friend...part of your family.
  15. I don't see any bad replies on here...just people kidding around a bit. I agree with Scugog...was the place I launched for the first time as well. I chose the quieter Island Marina...not nearly as busy and the owner helped me launch. Good luck out there...take some pics and write up a report!
  16. Tongue? That's a real problem when you are kissing walleye, pike or musky I'd imagine!!! Pretty sure Rich has some pics like that? But do carp count as fish???
  17. How big is your new floating machine? Any of the Kawartha lakes are within that driving range. The closest likely being Scugog. Depending on your boating skills and confidence, pick your days as far as wind is concerned and you could hit some bigger bodies of water like Bay of Quinte, Rice Lake (this seems small, but can get nasty quickly), and even Lake Simcoe. Scugog is only 25 mins from my place, so that's pretty convenient if I only have a few hours of fishing time.
  18. LOL Harrison! Truth be told, I haven't tried for them in over a year in that "spot". You can only catch so many 13 lb+ walleye before you start getting bored. Trade you a spot for that new Okuma float reel??? LOL
  19. Welcome to OFC and the Oshawa area! There are lots of fish in the area...just depends on how mobile you are...what equipment you have and what you skill level is... For instance, big Salmon are at creek mouths, but you will have to fight potential crowds and have a pretty good heavy setup. If panfish is what you want then there are lots of potential places as well. Oshawa creek is a good start. Here's a link that may be useful...always make sure you have the regulations handy to see what's in season and what is not etc...depending on the time of year, not all these spots are open. http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsFish/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_165643.html
  20. Looked like a perfect time Mike! Can't believe how fast your kids are growing!!!
  21. Still looking for my first muskie this year... I guess it would help if I actually got out and fished for them!!! Reports like this are giving me the itch....great fish!
  22. True Victor, but of all the responses, I think only one person answered his question and he hasn't replied to any of the other posts in this thread. Lol. So, are they running up Bowmanville creek??? Anyone else??? Lol
  23. Sorry to hear this outing turned out like this! A few good things though...the repair bill on the motor was a lot less than you expected...you spent time with friends out on the water...and you likely learned a few things you didn't think of before! Every outing will be different. When you think back on this year...and the trophy, you will have stories to tell...although it sucks now, you'll be laughing about it years from now. Put it another way...you can only look up when it comes to the experiences of coming years!!
  24. Dreams and goals are good to have! You are getting back on your feet and maybe this is something you want for down the road. Someone here once said in a report that if you don't have something to look forward to, then it's a crappy way to live....or something like that! Good luck!
