ccmtcanada replied to snag's topic in General Discussion
Wow Snag!!! Awesome stuff!! Hmmm...I have no morning meetings for the rest of the week....care for a partner one day?? Interesting pics you got there...hope you used mouthwash after licking that frog! That car was pretty cool too! Later! -
Boy that guy fishes everywhere in the world and catches the same damn fish....what are the chances?

Just did a bit of research....here are a few places in Ontario...one in Thunder Bay and one in Toronto that says they can repair mini dv. The Toronto charges $25 to repair it (actually, they cut out the damaged part). Even though their ad doesn't mention MiniDv, they said they can repair them when I called them. http://www.chromaservices.ca/multimedia_se...udio_tapes.html http://www.torontohomemovies.com/index.php?tapes

I'm in your same position!! Had a tape get chewed and it seems the time index for audio/video is all messed up casuing it not to playback correctly. I'll be watching this thread very closely!!!!

LOL...you're pretty fast Wayne...I figured someone would post it...just thought it would take longer than 2 minutes....
-
Great report and pics! Sorry to hear about that lodge though....man...that must have just sucked big time! At least you made the best of it and had some success on both the hunting and fishing. Great pictures!
-
The loser hats...had to bring that up again Roy? You wouldn't happen to have a picture would you??
-
I have no idea what half the species of fish people are mentioning on this thread or the locations....LOL. There are two trips I'd love though.... 1. Sturgeon/Salmon in BC. 2. A remote fly in, where non stop action is the rule...dont care if there are any trophies....I've never experienced non stop action....well, except for panfish....

Wow...I'm gonna buy all my stuff from you so you can install it...LOL. If I show up with stuff does that count too? Looked pretty rough and chilly out there....snow did you say? I thought you couldn't swear on this board!!! Nice muskie....will read the report.

Joey asked me earlier today if I was taking our boat to Quinte and I said "Are you kidding me? Glen will be there videotaping my launch....NO way!!" LOL. All I could picture after the plug incident was you sitting there taking money from the onlookers saying "You's all better start payin up".

LOL Wayne....when Bly told me you said that, I was laughing out loud over here while writing the report....

So, after seeing the Dave Mercer premier this morning, Bly and I were really hoping to get out on Lake Scugog to test drive out boat for the first time! After consulting the marine weather, we noticed a small craft advisory....LOL. I called up Goreskis marina to find out the conditions and the conversation went something like this. Me: Hey there...I was wondering what the wind is like on your side of the lake. Guy: Yep, its windy. Me: What's the water like? Guy: Brutal Me: Ok thanks. Hmmm...since the wind was out of the south west I tried Island Marnia....thinking it would be more sheltered and he said it wasn't bad on that side...and that he was looking at a few fishing boats at that time. That was good enough for us! We got the boat all ready and attached to the trailer and off we went. About 25 minutes later, we were at the launch...yes...my first ever backing of the CRV up to a boat launch. I took it slow....took my sweet time and managed to get the trailer in position the first time! WOOHOO...this was easy....LOL. The guy from the marnia, knowing this was our first time ever in our own boat says "dont forget the drain plug". We both laugh "yeah, we talked about it all the way up here". Anyhow, as the boat begins it's decent to the water, that conversations comes back to me....ACK!!!!!!!!! STOP THE BOAT!!!! We manage to get it before it leaves the trailer and pull the boat back up. Just a small amount of water gets in. A quick bail, insert the plug and the boat hits water for the first time. Ok...I'm ready for the ribbing now....LOL. So, the boat is dockside, I get in and start with the priming bulb....now remember, the tank is 14 feet away from the motor, so it took me FOREVER to get the thing primed. Ok...moment of truth...pull the cord and it sputters. That happens all the time...pull it again... nothing...again... nothing...again ....nothing .... I'm now thinking "Awww crap...this sucks!!!" I check the plugs, check the fuel line, and try again...nothing. Finally...after about 100 cranks, bloody knuckles and a sinking heart the motor ROARS to life!! I let is get warm for a few minutes and we were out on the water. After a few more minutes of thought, I remember that the last thing we did with the motor was clean the carb with....awww man....that's what it was....needed to burn the rest of the cleaner out of the system. Oh well, it started and it ran great! Got up on a plane real quick and came right down to a very slow trolling speed. Anyhow, here are a few pics...it was pretty rough out there for Scugog....and we didn't catch any fish. We were only on the water a few hours then came in as the sun was coming down. My TJ pose...I think this may catch on...it's pretty comfy!! I'm looking at the fishfinder here. I think we need to get some drink holders....but this came thru in a pinch.... A nice sunset...you can see how rough the waters were.... The loading of the boat back on the trailer was a LOT less eventful...LOL. Got everything packed up, tied down, a quick lights check and we were on the road. Hopefully we can get out again soon....this time with fish, a plug, and easier starting motor....

Trippin' Deep Into Cheepas Pike Land. Report.
ccmtcanada replied to Moosebunk's topic in General Discussion
Yet another great report bunk! Sorry to hear about you arm though...that always sucks....at least the drugs made it bearable. As much as I'd love to tag along on one of your excursions, I'm not sure I'm physically up to it...LOL. I'd sure die trying though. (or at least endure lots of pain). Great story and photos....love your reports! Oh yeah...you seem to know lots of hobbits....haven't seen him around the shire in a while now....at least I knew where he was now :-) -
Great report Joey! The closing of a cottage....always a sad time of year....LOL. Some great fish and pics there...Paul caught a few nice lunkers there! Oh yeah...I can see the faces in the rocks too...sure I see them....uh huh.....

Hey TJ...thanks for working out that contest for those tickets...Bly and I had a great time there this morning. It was great seeing your and Monique again....and glad to see you got home ok. Here's a few pics I'll add to your thread.... TJ may look short, but in actual fact Dave is 8 feet tall.....at least he was that big on the screen this morning....hehe.
-
It was a great morning! Seeing fellow OFNers and Dave's new show...how can it get much better than that? The show was hilarious and I'm not much for fishing shows....this is one I'll be checking out. Ryan...it was great to shake your hand..I've enjoyed your posts over the past year. Great pics Joey...I dont really have any to add here....after seeing TJ like that I think they would pale in comparison...LOL. Great seeing you again!
-
Great report and congrats to Charmaine!! WOO HOO!! A very respectable sized pike by anyones standards. Good to see you guys getting out and fishing...cant wait til the next report.
-
All right Mo! It was great seeing you this morning....I had no idea you were in the market for one. Bly and I looked at his boat as well, and if the one we bought didn't pan out, we were going to take the one you bought out for a water test. It was our number 2 choice! It's a very solid boat...a little cleanup and she's as good as new again. Metisfisherman is a great guy to talk to...glad to see you got his boat.

Surfing the Waves in The Bay of Quinte Saturday
ccmtcanada replied to Mike the Pike's topic in General Discussion
Wow Mike...considering the conditions, I'd say you did pretty well out there! Must have been pretty windy and rough out there. The G2G is coming quickly...will be great to finally meet you in person! -
Hey Mike! Hope you have a great birthday! See you in a few weeks...I'll buy you a beer. Cliff

I second this request!!!

Well, I picked up the new trailer this morning at a marina at Rice Lake this morning, drove straight to the MTO to register it and get plates. Went home to pick up bly and then high tailed it to Hamilton to pick up our boat. We met Gerritt there and he was awesome...helping to lift the boat from the old trailer to new one and setting up the bunks on the new one so that we'd have a nice safe drive home. I'd also like to thank all those who sent PM's on leads for used ones. Anyhow, now that we have it, we figure we should name our boat. We have not picked a name as of yet, so if anyone has suggestions we'd like to hear them! Also, I know naming boats is quite common, so if you've named your boat, let's hear it....as well as an explanation as to why you picked that name!!!
-
Woo hoo!!! Great report and pics! I'm very jealous...LOL. I really wanted to be on the water today, but I went to pick up a new trailer and then hightailed it to Hamilton to pick up my boat. Maybe next weekend I'll get her out on her maiden voyage. Congrats x2 on your catches today....hard to believe the fish you've been getting into....I remember fishing with you earlier this year....we were daydreaming of fish that big....LOL.
