Ethanol Treatment for Marine Motors.....
ccmtcanada replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
I'll check...and if it's not on the packaging, I'll ask the buyer tomorrow! -
There have been a few threads in the past while about how ethanol is harmful to boat motors. Since mine is a 25 year old Mercury, I was a little concerned about using gas from the local stations. Some members even called local stations to find out if their gas contained ethanol...and if so, how much? I was in Canadian Tire tonight and found this product and I bought it....figured I'd give it a try....anyone else hear of this? I don't remember it coming up in those old threads....maybe this is an inexpensive way to counter the effects of ethanol. I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't say "marine" on it.

LOL...I've been fishing that exact same area for a year now and no surprise brown for me yet....

I have refrained from replying because I had to check our summer schedule. I think it's a great idea....problem is finding free time..... As it's turning out, I'm booked until August....and 2 of the 4 weekends in August are already booked. One that is not booked is the long weekend, but I'm sure lots of other people already have plans for then. We already have our little one in a kids tourney....albeit not an OFC tourney for the first weekend in July. I'd say go ahead and plan, and if some of our plans get canceled we can show up....I'd hate to committ now and then not show.

Congrats on a successful maiden launch! I got my first boat just last fall and did the same as you....launched for the first time during the week....LOL. Did you name her yet? Looking forward to seeing you put some new slime in it...and of course seeing the pics from your report!
-
Wow...sounded like an awesome three days! My mother is blind, and it doesn't stop her from doing much at all. Congrats on a successful trip!
-
Happy Bday to the shipper! A day on the water is always a good one in my books. Great report!
-
As usual....very cool pics! Loved the taildancing carp.....happened to us only a few times. They must think they are trout or something....LOL.
-
Great stuff! That's an awesome catch for down there....must have been a very nice surprise!!
-
People make the mistake and complain to the store. That's the wrong place to do so. Call the toll free customer service number....9 times out of 10 they'll do something for you... ......but you didn't hear that from me.....LOL.
-
Welcome to the board! Great pic...a little slice of heaven I'd say.
-
LOL...that fish Victor has is his pic is smaller than yours..... Congrats again!
-
Now I don't know a lot about using a filet knife on a fish, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to keep the stuff you cut off....not the rest of the carcass.... Great report Glen! And you're right....I'd probably have to dunk myself in the lake a few times unless that boat of yours has air conditioning!! As for Carp...are you able to anchor and stay stationary. I think the key is to keep your bait perfectly still while they come along and feed. Carp up here tend to stay really shallow too...in 3 feet of water...not sure if they feed down in the depths. At least the bite turned on after the rains and you brought dinner home! Bly and I have to head down your way one of these years....probably NOT in the summer months though....LOL. Great report and pics as usual!

Sturgeon Lake Report - Fished with Sinker!
ccmtcanada replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Ok Ok...now that you have working coffee maker, we'll stop in next time....LOL. See you on Sunday Big Cliff....Sydney is already excited about seeing you guys again. -
What a great report! Seeing kids like that enjoying the sport is simply awesome. Thanks for sharing a family moment like that with us!
-
Now that is a seriously nice Walleye!! Congrats on a mighty fine catch!
-
Woo hoo!! Great fish! You've put the legwork in and it's paid off....congrats!
-
Awesome stuff! Yep...when you start to bring the daughter's fishing, say goodbye to catching them yourself. I believe their pure spirits appease the fishing gods and they hook up exponentially compared to us parents....hehe. She's a real cutie....hopefully a lifelong fishing partner!
-
The smiles on the kids' faces is the real story here. I feel your pain about being outfished by the women in the family too...nice pout you have going on there....LOL. Good to see you getting out a lot in that new ride!

Spring/Winter Fishing Adventure North Of Cochrane
ccmtcanada replied to Basskicker's topic in General Discussion
Wow Jason! Even though the weather was tough, and the fishing was tough, you guys managed to have another banner year!! Congrats on that PB....a real monster for sure! So....are we still going catfishing?? Just let me know..... -
Good on you guys for getting out there! Congrats to the two of you on the PBs....and I agree, those sheepies put up a great fight! I fish for what's out there...and if it's sheephead, then I'll target them anytime.

This story starts on Friday night. Bly started a chat, and a few of the regulars showed up, as well as Sinker. We've been a little bummed lately....our motor has been giving us fits, and the weather forecast for the weekend was stormy and windy for Saturday and just plain windy for Sunday...not that it mattered....the boat motor was an issue. Anyhow, Sinker, thinking Saturday was a write off anyways, offered to come down to our place to help us out with the motor. After literally 3 minutes, he says to pull the cord and the darned thing starts right up!! A quick phone call with BITEME assured us that there were a few things that we could do with the motor that would get us all set up and tuned quickly and inexpensively! Already the weekend is getting better! Sinker then says he has to head back home because he wants to install his trailer hitch...which has been giving him fits...nothing seems to be going right with the installation. He says he's itching to get it done because he wants to get his boat on the water. I figured, he was good enough to come down here, so I offered to tow his boat to Sturgeon Lake, where he keeps it in a slip. He replies "Well, if we're doing that, then we're going fishing!!". Good enough for us! We called a close friend hoping that she'd take our little one for the day/night....and as luck would have it, it wasn't a problem. The weather was bright and sunny and down right warm! The weatherman is never right..... We headed up to Sinker's place, picked up the boat and were on the water at about 330 in the afternoon. We waved at Big Cliff as we passed his place and headed off to start fishing. Suddenly, we hear thunder...turn around and we are greeted with this.... Luckily, that storm went to the south of us and we were spared! The sun came back out. We were targeting walleye, so when Sinker landed this little one, we had to take a pic....it's bad luck for us to NOT take that first pic, because you know if we didn't it would be the only fish all day long....LOL. We contined drifting when Sinker and I have a double header.... Here's a nice eater sized one.... Bly gets her second ever Kawartha walleye.... Near the end of the outing, Bly asks Sinker where he'd look for Crappie on this lake....and he tells us a few spots to check out.....a few minutes later, she catches this guy....hehe. We also saw this guy fishing with a HUGE tiller....close examination shows it's a huge 175hp monster! We took this pic for Greencoachdog....LOL. The rains started up at around 8:30 so we decided to call it a day. We had to pick up our little one by 10pm...so it was perfect timing! Here's the haul for our fish dinner tomorrow night. We were hoping to stop in at Big Cliff's to say hi, but we had to boot out of there to get our little one....next time we'll stop in for sure! Anyhow, early Friday evening, Bly and I were in crabby moods....but the entire weekend turned completely around! Sinker is a GREAT guy to fish with....and I'd fish with him anytime! (hint hint Sinker....whenever you need/want someone in your boat, you have our number....LOL).
-
We still have the stuff you brought last year. The clothes we sprayed it on still repels mosquitoes....LOL.
-
I will hand over all money that I make from this project. The profit/loss statement is below.... Costs: $100 (Time and supplies) Revenue: $0 The way I see it, you'd owe me $100.....hehe.
-
These are great everyone!! Keep them coming. If I use it in the project, then it will be immortalized in it forever....LOL. I'll be unveiling the final product in a week or two.... Thanks....
