  1. Sorry can't help yah...haven't made it past the inlet to Cross lake. All I know is ya gotta watch the rock piles goin into Cross from Temagami. There's so much water up there all you can do is work it like everyone else. I've got two full summer under my belt..spending 16+ weeks a year on the lake and haven't found a good "spot" yet. And welcome to the board. Be sure to post a nice picture filled thread when you return.
  2. Thanks for the report Rizzo....one beauty 'eye that is!
  3. Did you at least ask for the deer? Once reported they'll usually let you! Tenderized even..
  4. Yes Cast-Away...that picture is from Feb at the dealer. Played in her again today. Installed a HD "lighter" plug, back in the rear access compartment, to run the plug in coleman cooler off the kickers battery. The Verado charges both it's battery and the kicker battery thru an isolator, but i can kill the kicker battery and still start the Verado. Then like I've been doing since I was about 12 years old... when my Mom bought that brand new 8 track stereo system from Sears...I gotta tear new things apart. Seriously, Lund expected the forward battery hatch hinge to take the load of a person or persons walking on it. It was already bending down from the dealer just doing the Lowrance network install in the front hatch. Added a piece of 1/8" thick 1.5" x .75" 6061-T6 alum angle and now I can jump on it...the way it should have been when built! And YES Ronnie....I'll work on the customers stuff tomorrow !
  5. Glad you're okay Brandon! I couldn't believe the numbers of deer we saw bounding across or in the median of 69/400 last Thursday in the middle of the afternoon. Bugs are driving them out of the bush I suspect. As for costs...depends what you can get out of the junk yard. As a reference my daughter tagged a Honda CRV from behind with the tire carrier sticking out (which should be outlawed on them!). So the bumpers didn't hit...that spare took out the grill, lights, right fender and hood of the '98 Sierra. $4600 and no radiator in that price. Sounds like you need grill, bumper cover?, a radiator and some light sockets. Rads gonna cost you about $300 for a new one or a rad repair shop can probably recore it for less than 1/2 that. Should be able to get a grill and bumper at the local wreckers for a couple hundred bucks. Hopefully you light assemblies are seperate units and easy to obtain and change out..unlike a '90 Tbird SC that's headlight assembly is ONE piece from side to side.
  6. Thanks for the report Bill....next time find the pack of boats and then head the other way!
  7. GREAT Stuff Dan and Peter !! Remember though everyone.....OFC clothing showing in the pics doesn't cut it for this years tourney!
  8. Absolutely fabulous SP ! And are you sure them bass are OOS that far North. Everything past New Liskeard, in Ontario, is open all year.
  9. My wife has a women that works for her and her son fishes sleds out of Georgian Bay in the winter and spring. He calls the cops, gives them the serial number, he waits a certain number of days (don't know #) and they call him and tell him it's his. He's paid his way thru college doing this. Not sure where you stand if the insurance company paid out....but I'd be coming up with a retrieval and storage bill...say around $6500 ! Nice catch!
  10. wrong word it Lew! I wondered why he'd gone silent and just the other day I had suggested to one of Raf's board members, on Charleston Lake, to get in touch with Eddie. Not what any of us want to hear, right after Eddie moving into his dream retirement location with all them lakes and scenery right in his back yard. Deepest condolences from Leah and I to you and yours, and Eddie's wife and family, Lew. Wayne
  11. All Bull I say ! Love it when someone taking "your" spot helps put you on fish. Well done Bernie and get pouring some more jigs eh...I hear you're running out!!
  12. Thanks Ron! Someone needed to kick me...other than my Doctor that dropped by this afternoon... that suggested maybe a room around the corner from here!
  13. When you change the oil in your car do you change the oil filter? Same applies here...change the oil, change the filter. If you're me...you then cut the filter open and spread the filter pleats out...get your hands all gooey going thru it inch by inch looking for metal particles, but I'm a tad anal that way considering I work on stuff that falls out of the sky if I miss something.
  14. Great stuff Emil ! Don't know why you are asking me where to fish in August...you should show me how it's done!
  15. Thanks for the report Joe...see you in a few days! And I don't think Art's OFC sign meets the regs!
  16. Beauty stuff Shawn..thanks for fixin it up with the pictures!
  17. More stuff tidy'd up today. Planner mast lines retriever finished up Drilled and tapped an end cap on each side for the rope stay. Ripped that brand new stove apart and did some drilling. Also realized it might be REALLY smart to put it on the side WITHOUT the fuel filler on it! Added some good Aircraft hardware Trial fit and some wing nuts underneath Had to turn the pressure reg line fitting around. Requires heat to break the loctite and then found if I'd done that first I would have mounted the stove an inch or so closer to the boat so the bottle would have sat on the gunnel. Oh well...2 litre bottle will fix that..and there's always one of those on board. If you're wondering why the mounts are offset to the left...it's to clear the grease catch tray that I wanted to leave on so we're not polluting the lake. Made up some safety cables for the rods. Great when aircaft material and tools are just a few steps away
  18. Dan, The Verado is going to take some getting use to. Digital throttle is TOUCHY..especially when throwing into reverse when docking. Click reverse and think about some throttle is enough...I just haven't taught myself that yet! You can be going FULL bore at 55+ MPH and throw it in reverse. Engine will auto throttle down and then select reverse...I ain't gonna try it, but it can be done. Gear cut is such that pulling the power back quick is like throwing the brakes on..seat belts would be a good idea IMHO...to keep your head off the windshield. Engine is quieter than the 9.9 kicker and you think it's shut off when you go to dock. That is why they made it so if you turn the key to start when it's already running it shuts off...as they know many will think the motor quit. If anyone is running anything else at the same dock, you have to put your ear to the engine cowl to hear it run.
  19. Know any good lawyers for that ? ....I know Kirk's always chasin....
  20. Make sure when you save your pictures you make the name say ilovelucy and not I love lucy. Leaving spaces will put % signs or similar in the image properties and this gets bumped as dynamic links. Not sure what the issue is with dynamics...they worked on the other site and any other I am on. Maybe Rick can shed some light on that...
  21. Sure now you suggest some tape around the hole Brian !! Where were you when I needed this advise....but like you said, yep almost done..just a few more HOURS... Muskieman...have never fished Net Lake..sorry! And I do things myself because I'm a picky dude and like it done right. At a marina rate I'd be over $1000 in labour by now and the tracks would be bolted on upside down the way my lucks been going!
  22. Don't leave your underwear in the boat next time Paul !
  23. Pair of pliers to squeeze the quick clamp tabs for removal of inline filter. Muffs for running require excess flow pouring out on the floor...you got a good slope or drain in that floor + CO2 fumes to boot. Get it outside if you're gonna run it.
  24. Sure a LOT cheaper than the price tags I read when I was in West Marine yesterday!
