Well if they manufacture them....I'd sure hate to be the guy that they sent in with the box of matches. Hope they paid him triple time at least...
-
Thanks Steve...got my screw driver and I'm on my way....

Fishing with Dad. Enjoy those outings! Some fish for your efforts to boot!

Stop and fish the current of the Mississipi River just west of Carleton Place as well...while you're at it. And if you like good squeaky cheese curd be sure to stop into the gas station in Kaladar....

Bow switch for Power Trim Not Working (NF)
irishfield replied to tizfun's topic in General Discussion
Well since ya knocked a wire loose on the bilge switch....I'd start there..LOL and then the fuse panel to see what you blew workin on getting it running again. -
Don I have an unfair advantage. I was born in Peterborough and my father was transfered to Sin City (Smiths Falls) when I was 9 months old... to open a new Loblaws store there. I've travelled that road so many times... My mother is still down there, and daughter now also going to Carleton, so I go by there 3 or 4 times a year in each direction. No idea on the depth...it just has that look to it of one long deep creavasse ! Oh...and does the island still have a for sale sign on it?

You can launch at the public picnic area just West of the Provincial Park...mind you that looks exactly from where you took that picture of one of the only two islands out there. Haven't fished it. See guys there in the winter as well ice fishing. Suspect Lake Trout..

Thanks for that Bill. The mistake you made was laminating it. You can't laminate any government documents anymore...like Birth Certificates for example. Easy to hide forgeries that way. When you photocopy a vehicle ownership it actually comes up and shows COPY across it so they have a better idea that it's really a valid copy. With the vessel licence..they are just printing them on a lazer printer a Services Canada now..all black ink..no hand writting or authorization signatures like they use to have. A good photocopy looks exactly the same as the original.

If so let me know. Trying to figure out what all I need to take North..... so that I can have it at Lakair if you need/want it. This applies to anything I have in the classifieds as well....let me know as soon as possible. Wednesday afternoon I head for Toronto to attend #1 daughters grad @ 9am Thursday. From there I'm hitting BPS for a few things, grabbing my boat at home and heading North for the summer. ..and yes Sweety..the big net to contain Tybo is already on the list !

Get a photocopy Deano and put the good one back in your nightstand!
-
It is law Deano. I drove a 26' Tempest for about 15 years and I never could have told you where the licence was for it...still can't! Like I say it was the only thing they asked JR and myself for last November on the Bay. Guess while some spot checking officers feel it's about safety and check for PFD's etc...others know how to make the department money and just start by asking for the vessel licence. Many boaters have never carried one in their live's and have no good reason to know they need to carry one. Thank god for message boards, as that's where I learned it was law as well. Glad I did or I'd be 5 or 6 good baits lighter in the wallet!

You can't buy these signs...they were given to dealers over the last 40 years...one a year. There is another we are working on..and have been for the last 4 years. It's on the front wall of Temagami Marine...something to the effect that Johnson's are so dependable that you'd trust them out at night with your 16 year old daughter. Owner is trying to find another dealer willing to part with their's...as he isn't!

Read what I typed above Kevin....photocopy works just fine. OPP are used to photocopied car ownerships. Regs say "vessel licence must be carried aboard your vessel" They know it's a piece of paper that isn't going to last long in those elements...GOOD photocopy is fine. Be sure to do both sides!
-
Great report Bubba! See you in a couple weeks..

Every vehicle in the yard is full...including the boat.
-
I bet ya TJ painted the first sheet and Monique the other three!!
-
Yes Deano! You MUST produce your actual vessel licence when asked for it by the OPP. It can be a good photo copy..no different than you can with the one in your car. I never leave a real one there either...as thieves can use it to change the ownership once they've stolen it. When JR and I were pulled over last fall by the OPP and CO...the ONLY thing the OPP asked for was the vessel licence... as he knows it makes the most money for them. Never asked to see anything else.

Me as well Deano...I never even got to fish with my father. Older brother is the best I did. MTP...dropped my A540 for "warrantee" service and picked up a new A570IS while I was there for the same money (uses same SD card and same software)...since they said Canon would be at least a month or more gettin it back (if it's even repairable economically) Bigbuck...no stone is being left unturned. Dealer is going out of their way to make everything right. Lund should be paying for everything, but the dealer isn't worrying about that and probably is out many thousands of $'s already. Ordered a new captains chair for the bad stitching in the headrest, New 50/200 Transducer because the one Lund installed doesn't show water temp..so sensor or wire is pooched and many other things are waiting for me to bring the boat back to them a week Monday. They know this boat is good advertising for them....even though I never let anyone put dealer stickers on my vehicles! Maureen...so far so good. She's stayin inside. Will see what a trip to the big smoke on Wed night/Thur morning does to her, but we have to go... as #1 daughters graduation for Ryerson is 9am Thur morning. I at least need a picture of my $70,000 diploma! Morning after that I take Leah to God's country for a few months!

I think you may see Pronger sitting at the hotel watching the next game on the TV...
-
Leah managed to acquire this old Johnson sign, from the marina owners daughter on the QT, for some of my "lund" troubles !

As devious as his old man.....

'till the battery dies...gremlins arrive...

NOpe...just make a point of being informed. Just pisses me off that the most important thing is the cheapest fine...which only proves it's all a cash grab on the things you're most likely not to have in the boat. Nothing to do with safety!
