  1. Sorry Tony... just couldn't resist. Had to offload some of the ribbing....
  2. Hey Headhunter...they got the road blocks going up on University yet?
  3. icefisherman, landlocked and others have done it and sure they'll help you out if the link Tracker pointed out doesn't help you out.
  4. I'll take some tomorrow Don so you can see how it comes apart. Deck is attached to skis and the 4 sides are all hinged together and slip over the deck edge....so you can remove it and fold it flat to put in the truck. Here's a pic from last year with it loaded up ready to go up the lake to the island....as the ice wasn't thick enough to drive on with the truck. All our gear, food, clothes etc for 5 days. You can see how short the tow bar was...lengthed that to 4 feet and I picked that length as that's the length of the cutter and the bar folds underneath flat for when you have it broken down in the back of the truck. Here's another shot of it and one in the back of the truck 2 years back. Cutter base on the left... sides on the right.
  5. Yah it might spin...but I can't move it with a hammer right now. I've got extra u-bolts and hardware in the storage pouch. Note these U bolts are flat strap...not round stock like CTC hardware. So there is more of a contact surface to hold it tight. They do have a couple holes in them...so I guess I could drill and add a rivet to stop rotation. Just didn't want it permanant and I only use it for max 8 days a year on the lake. All I am pulling is a homemade wood cutter on sled skis...with a bit of ice fishing gear in it. No real weight.
  6. No problems where we're goin Lex... -20 C right now.... -30 C Saturday and still some snow on the ground and more to come...and why I'm worried about slush again. It was a nightmare last year with Ron pulling me around with his big Arctic cat most of the time in slush as deep as my boots.
  7. Dan and Terry can't keep up when I do it that way Bill ! LOL
  8. Made a good deal this week. F-in-law was pissin and moaning that his Step-daughter needed a sled to pack the horse riding trails at the farm, and that he didn't want to give her his sled to do so. So to that I said "today's your lucky day..... give it to me instead and you can have my Bravo 250 for the farm" So we loaded "mine" up and dropped it off, and picked his up on the way back. '98 Skidoo 500 Touring SLE - 2 up/long trackwith only 710 miles on it... fresh out of service for new battery/skis/tune up etc. Guess he forgot that the Bravo was his toooooo ! ! LOL Only issue that I then found was it had no tow hook to pull my fishing supplies behind me. Instead of the drive to Royal Distributing and $30... if figured I must have something around. An old gate hinge... an aircraft U bolt (originally used to hold Norseman aircraft interiors to the steel tube frame)... a couple washers and nuts and we're good to go. Lengthened my pull bar on my supply "cutter" to 4 feet from it's original 18" and we're ready to hit Temagami now. Counting down the days for Laker opener with the boys !
  9. Wasn't "Captain White or Captain McLeod" was it ! LOL Hope not.. or I'll kick them for you bunk! Sounds like in the grand scheme of things... you had a GREAT time Drew. Too bad about the Marlin "release" though.
  10. Hey Bernie....the "No Fish in Temagami" isn't me... If you look in the Dictionary it shows a picture of Tonyb and Aaron S ! LOL
  11. None of this was illegal before Jan 1, 2008 Basmaster4.
  12. Jack..quit flurting with the nurses and get back home. They don't want you showing them that thing! All will be fine fella, I know it will.
  13. Well I hope they keep telling people that! Not our fault they don't know where to do their creel studies on the lake. Have a nice time on Nip !
  14. Steve... I could tour that lake day in day out and not even bother putting a line out ! Don't wait too late to PM me in May. I'll be gone and off line come May 8th this year.
  15. If you take a tent out, or one of the tent style shelters, that's more than 5' x 4 feet I guess it needs registration numbers Lex.
  16. I think it took me 3 days Andy !
  17. Congrats Emil... I can see your smile from here bud !
  18. Break in is REALLY easy... just follow it. First two hours are critical... next 8 so so. After 10 hours you're good to go. They don't even recommend an oil change until the year/100hr is out, but I HIGHLY recommend you dump the lower unit and engine oil after the first 20 hours + a new filter. Will cost you $200 (to have shop do it...$80 or so less if you do it yourself) but money well spent. I cut the filter open and go thru all the pleats looking for shinny stuff... but that just me. I'm used to working on stuff that falls out of the sky when things get quiet! Break in is as follows: First TWO hours, run engine at varied throttle settings up to 4500 RPM or at three quarters throttle and at FULL throttle for approximately ONE minute every ten minutes (IMHO these full load runs are what seat the rings). For the next EIGHT hours of operation avoid continuous operation at full throttle for more than five minutes at a time. VERY easy to do... as you can't afford 32 Gallons Per Hour for toooooo long! LOL
  19. Mind if I print that Paul? LOL Not much I can add to what Fang already posted, other than your patience is a little questionable Lunate. We had great success last year with small to moderate size fish...flat lining late May to early June. After that the riggers continued to creep lower and lower 'till late August when we were catching mid lake humps (and fish) with our balls down at 95 to 110 feet. Here's a typical eater from the lake, that I put my sister on.. Here's our best 2 fish for the season. One was eaten as it was DOA and my daughters went off strong to spawn another day. You can legally do what you want, but please only keep the little ones to eat... if at all possible. They come up quicker, from boat drag, and forget to burp many times we find anyhow, blowing their bladder. The bigger ones generally stay pretty lively and release well...except of course when their gills get snagged by a hook. Oh and I just love the Stewardships "Live" release contest ! Notice the 56 lber on a dock...with a 5/8" rope through it's yap. Gaye just promotes the wrong stuff some days!! TMH... drop in when you come up ! Wayne Oh and I forgot the most important picture... mmmmmm BBQ Lake Trout
  20. Maybe the echo just comes from the empty space beyond her ear canal Rick ? !
  21. Wife goes skating for an agressive 2.5 hrs every Monday and Thursday afternoon. I'd better start going with her as she's getting into such great shape she's gonna trade plump old me in for some lean young stud! LOL
  22. Sister-in-law has it and I get so tired of when she calls and it rings here once with nobody there.... other than her number showing on call display...calls..rings once...calls rings once..4th time finally connects......especially like yesterday when I was TIG welding and waiting for an important call. When she was using it from Vegas, when living down there before Christmas, you'd swear she was sitting in a 200 gallon tank while talking, the echo was so bad.
  23. Not to worry with the Verado... overall it will burn less fuel than a 115 2 stroke......much less fuel. As for $1.50/litre... marina dock price hit $1.52/litre the summer Katrina went thru....so nothing new. You and your Dad have a ball in that thing Minnow and be sure to follow the first TWO hour break in instructions for the Verado to the tee! Will take awhile to get use to docking the thing...because it's so quiet you'll think the motor shut off, but don't worry about grinding the starter...they defaulted the start circuit so you can't start it twice !!!
  24. Bernie doesn't have birthdays anymore...so he told me once ! LOL Hope you had a great day fella !
  25. Guess someone has to pay for all them thar wires they strung over the last 100 years...that the CRTC let everyone else use for free..
