  1. Jim's got a wack of them at Dad's in Temagami... but he closed for the winter as not enough business coming through town unfortunately... with the clipped fishing seasons in the "new" Zone 11 ! He will open up for you if he has advance notice of arrival though...
  2. You'll learn one day... probably the hard way... that the Trilene knot will slip and undo with braid. I learned the hard way... 'till Lew set me straight with the simple Palomar knot for braid. Still use the Trilene for mono.
  3. Yep and me, you and Terry might just be pallbearers.
  4. Not nice to call douG names Brian!
  5. Yah.. but we just call you skunked most of the time bud!
  6. I pushed my sister in law in once.. but her crime was that she was wearing a white t shirt.. Lock the buggers up and send a message to all the others that need a swift kick in the arse...
  7. Way to stick it out David! Show these young lads what life's all about !!! I peeked at our launch today for one last shot at Musky on closing day...but too much snow and the channel is iced in anyhow. Time to tuck the boat away for a few months.
  8. Just out of CTC.. they have the Rapala ones with the little reel on them.. but are now fiberglass and the two pronged one is now white plastic. The only thing with steel on it was something called the super rod. It had a normal type rod with a single eye at the end.. and then a flappy spring steel leaf a bit longer than the rod that had an eye in the end of that..
  9. As Roy said... Burbot and the common Ling are two different fish. Burbot is also know as a Lawyer.. not sure if that has anything to do with the slim or not (sorry Marty!) Burbot is the only member of it's, Lota, family and is a freshwater fish that is cod LIKE.. not a family member. The Common Ling is a member of the cod family and is an ocean fish. So kinda like that Walleye/Pickeral deal. We all call them Ling.. but they are really Burbot ! People call them lots of things besides UGLY !! Lota lota or Ling, Eelpout, Loche, Freshwater Cod, Maria, Methy, Lush, Lawyer Other common names include: American Burbot, Cusk, Dogfish, Eelpout, Freshwater Cod, Freshwater Codfish, Freshwater Crusk, Gudgeon, Lawyer, Ling, Lingcod, Loche, Lush (Alaska), Maria, Methy, Mother Eel, Mud Blower, Spineless Catfish, Lake (Swe) (google is your friend ! LOL)
  10. Just the private road into the lodge AFAIK
  11. Like Bigbuck said.. and I'd consider a snowblower for the ATV..not a plow.
  12. It's a fair size lake and the lodge has been there since 1945. Lake is weird shaped..with 4 or 5 arms to it. All of which are a good mile or so long. Gerry.. thanks ! Wayne
  13. Was presuming he had at least R20 in the rafters already... so R32 overtop of them = R52. Is how I did my attic when I built this place. R20 in between the rafter ties/ceiling joists and then R32 layed 90* to that so there are no wood rafters exposed for heat transfer.
  14. Make sure you staple in rafter vents before blowing it in. If you have sufficient access I'd be up there laying a layer of R32 Roxul on it though !
  15. I don't see anything else on Google Earth.. although that area isn't of the best resolution to see buildings. Lodge claims it's a "private lake".
  16. Yep... that winding creek.. was wondering if it was passable!.. and if there is anything else on O-Pee-Chee other than the single lodge and then the rest is all Crown land?
  17. Thanks... knew there was rapids at North end of O-Pee-Chee.. was not sure about South end dumping into Red Cedar
  18. Yep.. lodge on the lake.. is there any other structure/building on the waterfront of this lake other than the lodge?? How did you access the lake if not through the lodge?
  19. Are ya accepting borders ?? Great stuff Lew... a great plan to stay off the waterfront. Keeps the "friends" ya never knew you had list down !!! How many OFC'rs can bunk in up in that loft??... lol
