  1. Shim a spring.... seriously!! I thought you only did that to raise the oil pressure in a lycoming ! lol Have a local guy my son works with.. his car takes off on it's own when on cruise control ! It's not a pedal issue.. it's software. you guys in the shop... are you just installing the spring shim.. or are you plugging in while you're down there and flashing software that the client isn't being told about???
  2. Thanks for the updates Jamie !
  3. Name don't ring a bell Jon ! ..and you have a PM
  4. Yah that makes sense malcolm. Have you talked to Rick lately.. re the thickness of the ice road and up into his place in Spawning??
  5. Supposed to be about -20 for the next 6 or 7 nights... so if the slush tightens up it may produce some ice. Call him before you go and I'm sure he'll give you the up to date. I do the same for my own place.. neighbour lives there full time.. and keeps my road plowed and parking area clean so the ice can build. If need be he floods the road to build thickness, but can't this winter as he busted his leg up in November...just before ice in.
  6. Believe it or not Kevin... If you read it real slow, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you actually wanted to share the video and weren't using it to promote, like you've done with many posts in the past. As for what I do for a living... has no bearing on the post. All I can tell you is I put in more hours a year than most here spend off work.. and I do that in a 7 month span... and that's to support an addictive hobby that became a business. I couldn't tell you what's going on at my real business as I haven't made it over there in a good 6 years!
  7. Banner adverts don't equal the ability to post advertising in the general forum. They are there to be clicked on if people so choose. A little birdy tells me that all the current self promoting "guides", that are going against the golden rule here, are in for a tidy up and a place of their own, at cost, to self promote! As for the video... it's pretty cool. Possible Kevin's sharing it for the joy of it... and a clear cut way to show that would be to lose the links to Anglers kingdom in his posts to the general forum and then there would be no spam flags thrown up .....that may or may not be uncalled for.
  8. Thanks to snow and milder temps.. not a lot new, but I suspect the majority of the lake is safe for a sled. I wouldn't be driving anywhere off the beaten path in a vehicle. I have 14 " at my dock, so we can drive out at least to my place. Will be all sledding from there. Lake was a slushy mess last week.. anywhere off the beaten sled trail. Hopefully that has melted down and solidified before we all get up there. "Opening weekend" You realize they open on a Monday correct?... the 15th...when we'll be drilling hole after hole after hole...
  9. Hope it's it Lloyd... but "backpack" lets me think someone else booboo'd as well and you're still gonna need that new stuff you have ordered. Hopefully though it's your stuff !!
  10. Thanks SLOP.. I haven't been in there in a Very very long time... specifically since my Father worked at the Lanark MNR in the late 70's.
  11. I can go 3 full days (when fishing with Lloyd.. that's 7 am to 6pm) in -30C temps using my 102C. If I turn the screen intensity down one (ie middle brightness) it will last 4 days. I have two 8ah's in the case... so if I only had one I'd get about 1/2 that mileage. Performance doesn't change anything considerable whether it's outside in the open in those temps.. or in the hut with the heat on.
  12. Well if you're scared of tough fishing.. then Martin River PP and Finlayson Point (Temagami) are out...
  13. You can use the transom mount transducer just fine Ryan... reverse the bracket on it to get the cord tiewrapped centred and use a piece of pipe wrap foam about 8 inches long and just wrap the cord around it once to make it easily adjustable. I couldn't find an ice transducer anywhere last year when I wanted one.. ended up ordering off ebay as Lowrances on-line will only let you order if you're in the USA.
  14. I think you need to sit in front of my 102C for a bit fisher... there's no delay when I lift a 1/16 jig at 95 feet ! Your flasher has to process transducer readings.. to electron flow.. to screen blink no different than a finder.
  15. Some nice fish there Jamie!! Now 25 fish a day.. how many clients and G2's does it take to get that many.. ie how many fish each are you catching a day?
  16. Great stuff Kevin.. the way any guided outing should be posted.. by the payee !
  17. And it's good for them too Roy.. because the stay full charged in the alarm or back up light systems. Without them cycling they get pooched and using them in your finder is good for them.
  18. Have FUN Joe and let us know how it goes. I thought about Costa Rica but did St. Maarten instead... maybe next time it'll be Costa Rica...
