  1. Great stuff Will.. what life is supposed to be about! Wish I could have got up there.. but not in the cards!
  2. Well hopefully it's not an airplane on the roof with 2 dead like Buttonville this afternoon...
  3. Depends on the boat in use.. the people on board and their driving experience.. the weather and what we are doing. 12' tinny or port-a-bote... always have our jackets on. 16' Steel work boat.. maybe. Sitting in a 22' long x high sided Lund... down rigging at 1.66mph with crew on board forget it! Alone.. jacket is always on... and I even tie the 15' mooring rope to my belt in case I take a header loading the down rigger! Hydraulic steering doesn't kick to one side so that the boat comes back to get you!!
  4. Oh hell Albert.. that's next! Mandatory to wear a PFD while swimming...
  5. If it's carbureted.. it sure does! Not sure if this will attach.. #23 is your screw. I grabbed a generic 40 hp year 1990 to find a diagram at www.shop2.evinrude.com http://shop2.evinrude.com/Index.aspx?siteid=1&catalog_id=5&s1=beed2f251d9c5032822df12a69224af8
  6. Sounds like my 5 HP Honda.. the way it came from the factory. It would troll for some time and then cough and die. For some reason I put up with it for awhile and then decided to do something about it. 1/4 turn of the idle jet screw and smoooooth ! Find your idle jet.. turn it all the way in and count the turns so you know where it is to start with. Turn it back out to 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns and try it again.
  7. Just like a fishing trip... all good things must come to an end !
  8. Great stuff Dave! That thing would fly with a 225 on the back !
  9. 10point.. the water has gone up 2 INCHES on Lake Temagami since May 7th. I am told that it shouldn't be an issue launching at Manitou landing (end of Lake T access road) for you.
  10. Great spot Dan.. but I can do without you posing with the boat...
  11. Thanks for speaking up first Dad!
  12. Let me see, internet warrior, I had my 83 year old mother in the boat.. my 57 year old sister.. and my wife! I didn't slow down for a look... I did it out of the usual courtesy I give canoes, only to get sworn at. Have you ever made a positive post around here...
  13. "Just Drive... don't ask any questions!"
  14. Sorry Bud.. You'll be 46 in the morning whether you want to admit it or not!!!
  15. Sounds like he is feeding both 12V and 24v to EACH plug Bob.. one at the bow and one at the transom. So all 4 positive runs need to be protected. On the other hand.. I can't see a person running both bow and transom trolling motors at the same time.. so he could put the 12v and 24 v feeds to both plugs thru only 2 CB's.
  16. Yep Ford screwed up big time with the 2007/8/9 Diesels... they use more fuel than my gas F-150.... even if you try to "chip" them!
  17. Exactly Jon! People have lives.. and lives to live.. families to deal with etc. Posting on a fishing forum isn't always at the forefront. Why do people feel the need to guilt them to post, when they obviously have other issues at hand that are much more important??
  18. What did I find funny Cram? You can't win.. you try to do a good deed and you get yelledand sworn at. Some deserve what they get!
  19. Sounds like you're wired for both 12v and 24 volt units. What do you use?? Wire for the purpose at hand.. Resettable CB's are the way to go and as others have pointed out there are cheaper sources than trolling motor companies.
  20. YAH... but don't forget who his guide was!!!
  21. Then you only need TWO ! You don't fuse the ground leads. ..or are you saying you have two + feeds to each plug?.. and the next question would be why?
