irishfield replied to vinnimon's topic in General Discussion
Tin.. WHO ?? Good to see you're still upright Dave ! -
Yah Thrasher.. I'm right across from the park.. 4 island out from Town. I'll send you a PM..
-
Be sure to bring everything you need.. as recession.. people spending their money elsewhere and HIGH property taxes have closed just about everything but the LCBO ! No Grocery store.. no tackle shop as Jim has closed for good. If you need a fishing licence be sure to stop back at Angus Lake at Gramps to get one.. Mind you, do you plan to do any fishing? LOL

No..there be no clapping.. with what I'll have to unloaded out of the box of my truck, if that's my alternative. -
Good to know Thraser... a 18 mile or so run for me though.. long walk back solo. I'll see what happens and if my neighbour wants to head that way. Now with you guys being mobile and with 3 sleds.. why the heck would you hang around the island? Some good back lakes close by to Tamar....

If your kicker wasn't factory installed it may not even have the power steering hooked up when you are running just the kicker. I don't find it a big deal to steer without the hydraulic pump running.. heck the wife drives most the time.. none issue for her. IF you have the power steering running when using the kicker.. at slow speeds you have about 5 hours before your battery will be low enough your Lowrance will shut off.. 10.7 volts. Mercs great suggestion was you have to go for a run to recharge off the big motor.. or leave it idling. Then it was AGM batteries for more capacity. I let them pay for $600 worth of AGM's and then chose to disconnect the kicker motor from the hydraulic pump. Very easy at a quick connect on the engine feed isolator harness right by the pump. As for the batteries.. they are hooked up seperate. The only common place of connection is the charging output from the Verado goes to an isolator and splits one to the kicker battery, one to the Verado battery so it charges them both but accessories can't drain both. When the kicker is running it is only charging it's own battery.

I just might end up there yet.... -
Yah had to ask eh Jacque.. lol Up 'till 4am monitoring Jennifer as her temp started to climb.. at 3am she wanted some fresh water/ice so I'm standing at the fridge and it's going spurt..spurt..spurt and I think to myself how the hell is air getting into the line, just as my feet start to get soaked and the kitchen floor starts to flood. Glad I never finished the basement ceiling so that I could find the water line valve quickly!! Just finished putting the fridge back together. Gonna see how the day goes and try a departure again in the am. I'm not gonna hold my breath... guess it's a good thing nobody could go!

Which amongst you still bought a $2 water bottle out of a vending machine this morning??
-
He's just adding an extra hour so he has time to prepare your fish!! lol
-
Nice fishy... also glad you left MY fish alone! lol
-
Bolts.. don't even know they're there.

I ate the herring I got on GBay a week or so back and it tasted the same as any other fish. Didn't see any big difference in it to a pickeral. Leah even said why didn't you catch more!
-
Don't know Bill.. wouldn't think much of that would make it's way onto the inside of the track.. but there might be enough "dust" going up and around and falling down thru the track holes.
-
Na.. she now has my cold. I was quarantined to my room yesterday and was supposed to be getting out of here before I gave it to Jen. Now Leah has it. Both of us are tired of blow the nose.. hand sanitizer.. blow the nose.. hand sanitizer.. every 2 minutes. Thank God they gave Jen Cipro this round to help her fight things off...

Google Snowmobile ice scratchers.. I thought I had a picture of what I had done, but I don't. Terry has real ones both on his sled nose and track sides. Main idea is to get a dusting of ice chips/snow into the track area to cool the sliders. ** I think Terry runs the ones on the nose because his is liquid cooled to get some dust up into the cooling tunnel. Not needed for air cooled machines.

That 5+ mile per hour current keeps you guessin though... be sure both engines are ready to run...or that trolling motor batteries are good and ready to pull you towards shore.
-
Correct Dann.. and why I lost one of my bolts. Slipped in thru the bottom of the ski..with washers stacked the correct thickness and a quick pin on top. Pin popped.. bolt gone!
-
LOL Brian... she was upset today.. as she thought I was already leaving! Now she's stuck with me for another night..
-
I hear ya Erik.. well kinda anyhow. There ain't no "freedoms" this winter, if I can figure out how to squeeze in a trip at this point in time, anyone can.
-
I was hopin you'd add that! lol We'll be showing that video to our great great grandkids Terry! Poor glen.. he'll never fish with us again...

You'll have to run back in for sign in ! -
Well a tad disappointing that nobody can abandon their keyboards for a few days, but I'm off bright and early. Truck and trailer packed and ready to roll. Neighbour knows I'm coming and ready to fish, as are Walleyemaster and a few others in town that I can get out with. If anyone wakes up and realizes what their missin... if you seriously wanna drop by a little google work will find my hard line phone number at the lake and I'll make sure the answering machine is on. Plan at this point is up tomorrow.. home Monday or Tuesday. I'll also check my PM's before leaving in the am.
