  1. Well come aboard for maps you can also try www.trakmaps.com
  2. Cliff The Cables do work. As for the ICE build up, what exposure does the section of roof have? The issue I have with my roof in one spot (usually below -5'C ), is the snow melts at the top of the roof were shingles may be exposed to the sun but when the water gets down to the aluminum trough it freezes up, eventually plugging the trough and downspout tight with ice. I use the cable to clear the trough and spout of Ice once it appears to be building up which stops the backing up onto the shingle. The trouble spot is the valley with a North East exposure. The top can be in the sun most of the day, but the bottom at the eves is in the shade after 10am.
  3. Hi KennyMan I used to camp in Charleston PP a fair bit (till I moved near there). There are very few poor sites in the Park and most are a good size and fairly protected from your neighbour. The Provincial park website description of sites is pretty good. As noted , the beaches are nice (there are 2, 1 day use and 1 campers), the day use is better. The bay the beaches are in a motor boat free zone and is great for canoes. After work I'll check my park map for sites that I checked off as preffered. You definitly want to book early here , It fills up realy fast (like Bon ECHO). AS RJ noted the smallies can be great, Lakers can be found not far from the boat launch.
  4. CMTC ,,I was thinking the same thing when I saw that they were not online.
  5. Some one I know had picked up a copy at LeBarons in Ottawa.
  6. After the long anticipated wait, the new 2008-2009 regs are out in print Of cource the on-line version is not yet available
  7. HI Badger Did you try the Chandlery ? http://www.thechandleryonline.com//dept.asp?dept%5Fid=1203
  8. You can also keep looking at the Fuji. I currently have the S5100, its a nice camera and has perfomed well. Its a little bigger then some of the smaller digitals but I like the almost SLR feel without spending $900. Its a 10X optical, 5MP, uses 4 AA, self timer, XD card. Its a couple years old so used ones can be found for a good price. A newer model is the S700 which is in the $250 Can. range. (Henry's), 7.1MP, 10X optical, 4.8 digital, SD or XD cards, 4AA
  9. The smiles say it all. Its always worth it when you can put a smile on the kids' faces.
  10. The "locked in" pricing may have been a benefit several years ago, but I have noticed that most of the recent increases on any of the utility bills have been coming from the extras such as "delivery", "thankyou for being a customer" charges. These are not covered by the locked in rates.
  11. 007 In September the SM Bass fishing for me has been pretty good. Lots of rock piles with deep water nearby. Lakers are usually still running deep by the closer. (Can't wait for the new regs with the extra week) If you don't have a boat , I think there are canoe rentals inside the park (some nice Bass and Trout jigging water within easy paddle of the park. If you need to rent a boat, try Kelsea's Marina or Lake Line lodge at the northeast end of the lake (Charleston Lake Village, approx 20 min drive from the park)
  12. Charleston Lake PP is a big park, lots of good tent sites and trailer sites. The lake is absolutly gorguous. You'll find SM and LM bass. Small mouth can be really good. 4+lbs not uncommon Lakers can be hit and miss, they are either near impossible to find or very easy. Lots of deep water (season closes Sept 8th) There are also some large pike if you can find them. Murphy's Point PP Okay park, not my favorite. Limited # of decent tent sites, more trailer sites. SM and LM Bass can be good. Pike same Lakers same as Charleston Walleye there are some but hard to find.
  13. Lew My condolences to you and your family from myself and all those at Fishhawk.net who exchanged messages with Eddy while he made his move to Delta.
  14. Very Nice The pictures alone make you want to visit the areas. Look forward to seeing the episodes. Best of luck
  15. Good luck tring to find a garage big enough. Chances are most of the houses you see will have the standard garage sizes. You may have better luck if the property has a detached garage/workshop. The in-laws went through this delema a couple of years ago. He ended up custom building. The garage is almost as big as the house. The garage has 2 8ft tall doors and 3 ft between the doors. My father in-law can put his 19ft Crestliner in at a slight angle and still fit in his F150 in front of the boat. There is also room for the Mother in-laws car, and a small work shop at the back. Best of luck
  16. Make sure what ever pricing you get , that it includes the brass coupler that goes between the house NG line and the line to the BBQ. When I moved a # of years ago I disconnected the BBQ and forgot the fitting. Cost $75 to get a new one.
  17. Yup its true...more daylight to fish after work March 11 and Nov 4 this year Could you imagine the confusion with a +/- of 1hr north/south .
  18. Well so far they are only calling for 10-15cm for the Brockville area Wed. but the 30Km/hr winds will make it just lovely. I feel a sick day coming on. At least we wont get what upstate NY got last week. Oswego area has 12ft+ snow drifts
  19. I'd have to say Bon Echo Charleston Lake Murphy's Point
  20. If it real then is must be a European perch. The European perch (Perca fluviatilis) is a species of perch found in Europe and Asia. In some areas it is known as the redfin perch or English perch, and it is often referred to by the shortform perch. The species is very popular and has been widely introduced beyond its native area, into Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. European perch are greenish with red pelvic, anal, and caudal fins. They have 5-9 dark vertical bars on their sides. European perch size can vary greatly between bodies of water; in Australia the fish are sometimes much larger than in their native Europe. The perch can live for up to 22 years, and older perch are often much larger than average; the maximum recorded length is 20 inches (51 cm) and the largest recorded weight is 10.4 lbs (4.75 kg). The perch spawns at the end of April or beginning of May, depositing it upon weeds, or the branches of trees or shrubs that have become immersed in the water; it does not come into condition again until July.
