  8. great day out today with Bella, she caught her first fish all by herself ( and Number 2,3,4,5 and 6!) great hour and a half on the water... ONe proud Dad!
  9. Took my daughter to gymnastics this morning and my friends mom says " You should of seen the size of the musky I saw yesterday caught on the Ottawa River. I asked her where it was caught and she told me the story. The guy that caught the fish wanted to eat it but someone fishing there said it was no good so they let it go.. ( after about 30 pictures and the fish being out of the water for over 5 minutes) the fish went belly up then turned and slowly swam away ( I am guessing to enjoy her last sleep on the bottom of the river). Here is a shot of the fish if anyone knows this guy please explain the regulations to him, its sad to see such a nice fish die before she was about to spawn
  10. Tiger rods are awesome... very sensitive and strong as well...

  15. Most big gamefish travel through that area and early season is no different
  16. I would start around DSI personally
  17. I wish it was less windy, I had my 10 weight but do not think it would of been big enough... you got it right about the circle hooks, I have used them before but am a real fan now. You did it the right way with the locals man... way better feeling then forking over the big cash
  18. Lew, I tried with wire and the answer is simple, they don't eat. The thinner the leader the more bites you get and the more break offs as well.... I kept the leader of the big boy and its frayed all the way up. Their mouths are rock hard and the line rubbing on the side of the fluro really wears it down... One special fish! Have to say, I have been home 3 days I am still one hurting unit
