  1. A couple times I've launched on Wawashkesh and tripped down the Magnetewan. Even if you do just that and take out on hwy 69 or Harris lake it's a fantastic trip, especially in the upper half. We portaged north of the Mag not to island lake, but to some really phenominal smaller back lakes where we've camped and fished. All those little pothole lakes north of the Mag are teeming with big bass. It's just an awesome area. Can't help you with Island lake info, but can steer you to some other spots if you're interested. Cheers
  2. O'Sullivan's is a gem for sure, glad to hear you guys are going again this year Rob.
  3. Some of those photos are stunning, well done bud! Looks like a picture perfect trip.
  4. Glad to see you're alive and kicking Cliff. Heckuva lake trout bud, congrat's!
  5. I'd like to see the Bill's trade for Matt Flynn of the Seahawks. He's making way too much coin to be a backup and I believe he's a player they could grow with.
  6. Not surprised to see them clearing out the Wild River rods. Has anyone else been impressed with new lineup of Wild River rods? They've completely revamped them and man are they sweet.
  7. Well what do you know, so am I. Should be a blast bud. So you chose Horwood? You'll enjoy it I'm sure (just not quite as much as some of the other camps we talked about ) If you want some info shoot corvette1 a pm. He was there with his crew a couple summers ago and got into some pretty nice fish.
  8. I'm heading out on Wed, same place we fished together last time if you're interested Brady.
  9. My thought on Bisco is this. It's a decent fishery but if you're going all that way Ray's Camp on Ramsey lake right next to it is 1000 times better. Ramsey is at least imo worlds better than Bisco. http://www.rayscamps.com/
  10. Wow that's insane, I had no idea!
  11. My personal feeling is you'll be fine as long as you stick to the marked channel and take it slow. Went down the Key two summers ago to look at an island cottage for sale in the delta area and it was fine. Tons of rocks lurking under the surface though, you do have to be careful.
  12. I agree, but I've been wearing them all winter and they're warm.
  13. I can sense you're a bit excited Jesse. Glad I was able to help you and your dad find something suitable. I've got a bunch of trips on tap this year myself, pretty stoked myself. Cheers
  14. Amazon.com These things have amazed me, they're supposedly rated for -42 or something like that but they're so light and comfortable to walk in.
  15. Two of my biggest criteria personally is a waterproof zipper as opposed to velcro flaps, and a goretex jacket WITHOUT a mesh liner. Most of the previous generation Cabelas Guidewear have the mesh liner as does some of the BPS stuff. I find it to be a pain. Way less breathable than a good unlined gore-tex shell. After looking REALLY hard at every possible option on the market for a jacket/bib set the only other one that was in the same league as this new Cabelas suit was the Simms. Problem is the Simms is substantially more expensive. My opinion is this particular Cabelas suit is superior to the Simms anyway. So far I couldn't be happier with it. For what it's worth in case anyone's interested, I recently purchased and have been wearing a pair of Bogs Ultra boots. Best pair of rubber boots I've ever owned. Super light, unbelievably comfortable and warm.
  16. Hey Rick I know there's a few guys on here that love that suit. I was at Bass Pro not long ago and for the first time ever had a really close look at both of their rainsuits, the 100mph and the Pro Qualifier. I tried both on and hands down liked the Pro Qualifier better. It seemed to fit better, especially the bibs. They were way less constrictive than the 100mph bibs. Between jacket and parka I MUCH prefer the jacket. But that's just me. Finally that Pro Qualifier suit in the grey colour was really nice, I liked a lot. I would have zero qualms whatsoever buying that suit especially when it's on sale. Now, all that being said I recently bought the new Cabelas Gore-tex Bass Angler Guidewear jacket and bibs. A bit more money but it's pretty damn sweet. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Clothing/Mens-Casual-Clothing/Mens-Rainwear/Mens-Rainwear-Jackets-Parkas%7C/pc/104797080/c/104746680/sc/104522580/i/104091480/Cabelas-GORE-TEX-Bass-Angler-Guidewear-Jacket-Regular/1547994.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fclothing-mens-casual-clothing-mens-rainwear-mens-rainwear-jackets-parkas%2Fcabelas%2F_%2FN-1100878%2B1000002949%2FNe-1000002949%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104091480%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104797080%253Bcat104522580%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104797080%3Bcat104522580%3Bcat104091480 http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-GORE-TEX-Bass-Angler-Guidewear-Bibs-Regular/1573172.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct.jsp%3FproductId%3D1547994&categoryIds=104797080%7C104746680%7C104522580%7C104091480&WTz_l=RI%3BIK-984738
  17. Well I'll be damned, I had no idea you were a steelheader. Great video! Was "The Club" where you guys stayed? Looked nice. If so can I join? LOL! I'm headed out there soon myself for a few days of fishing, Looking forward to it Cheers
  18. I have an even better lake for us to fish. More and bigger fish, easier access, slightly further drive.
  19. You've got to be kidding me. Debate on the can/bottle ban aside don't the CO's up there have more pressing issues to attend to? It's amazing to me they'd go to all that trouble. Live and learn bud, nalgene is your best friend.
  20. You mean like this Billy? (You took the pic ). 32" if memory serves, from a small lake in the Chapleau region. (BTW those overgrown mutants from Quinte don't count. )
  21. Unreal Jay. Man I'd love to ice fish that body of water.
  22. What a fantastic experience for you! Thanks for sharing, sounds incredible. Beyond not having the right footwear in what ways were you not prepared properly? I'd be curious to know and it may help someone else planning a similar trip. Congrat's on the new job as well, that's big news! Cheers
