  1. That's right. Don't even think about fishing 'till my rods are done!
  2. Just looked outside my office and saw 2 sundogs. Money in the bank from my experience, the fish should be on this afternoon. Get out if you can.
  3. I feel compelled to offer a rebuttal to FishinNana but can't. Who 's gonna argue with someone's Nanna?
  4. My favourite pier spoon for browns and bows, love 'em.
  5. And it bugs me that someone with such an obviously vested interest in the issue can't see beyond his own personal needs.
  6. Indeed. Mankinds greatest burden to bear is the knowledge of his own mortality. Who's to say though what really goes through the mind of an animal. A lot more than we realize I'll bet. Personally I think they're all plotting against us and must be shot!
  7. Excellent, love the old pic's! (I really need to get a scanner)
  8. Thanks for the input everyone, I've got what I need sourced out now.
  9. The fact that there's a chunk out of the tail is interesting but moot. I've never seen a pure lake trout with a mostly square tail before, that's what's significant about the fish.
  10. 80lb fluoro all the way for me. Have to say I wouldn't anything lighter though.
  11. Thanks guys. Lou, I'm not sure how I can possibly send you the exact dimensions of the logo?
  12. Just noticed this thread, how ironic the earlier posters were bashing Sid. On a side note Sid was interviewed shortly after the game was over. Was asked how it felt to score the winning goal after being held pointless the previous 3 games. Honestly, considering the moment, and with the entire country watching and behind the team, a simple "Great game Sid, congratulations!, And from all of Canada THANK YOU!" It would have been much more appropriate.
  13. I'm looking to refurbish my SSV 16 this spring. The boat needs new decals, pin striping and paint. I've done a quick search and it doesn't seem readily available direct from Lund. Will I be forced to get decals and paint made to match? Has anyone done this before? If so I could use some help pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!
  14. It looks like a splake to me. They have been known to occur naturally.
  15. Jay my family has owned two. I don't think you'll have any problems as long as the dog gets enough exercise, they're fantastic dogs. When it comes time to buy a dog for the kids it'll be a gsp.
  16. I have the Olympus Stylus 790SW. It's a great camera but not just a simple point and click. It has numerous functions that need to be utilized in order to maximize your pictures. Unfortunately I don't have the time or patience to learn them all so many of my shots are mediocre.
  17. Split grip with micro guides, my dream rod.
  18. There's no doubt in my mind that you saw what you claimed to see. Amazingly enough I never actually saw a single wolf in all my travels in the Hudsons Bay lowlands, on the rivers that spill into the bay. Polar bears yes, wolves no. The wolf I saw in Puk actually walked into my campsite, stopped and stared at me from maybe 30 feet away. It was reddish brown in colour, very shaggy looking. Actually thought it was a deer at first because of it's size and colour. That animal was bigger than me.
  19. Really? Micro guides are the ones pictured on the right:
  20. I agree. But they'll be jacked for Sundays game I'm not too worried.
  21. That's been done before, Daiwa came out with rods like that years ago.
  22. I don't see the advantage in micro guides. If you actually put these guides on a scale the weight difference is negligible compared to more standard titanium frame guides. I just don't buy the claim that casting distance won't be affected either even if you're only talking micros from mid point to tip. Besides they look gay.
  23. I don't hunt but certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone the right, regardless of species assuming it's legal. What gets me is the attitude of so many uninformed citified sportsmen. Most of whom don't have a clue what they're talking about. Regarding wolves, while I've never hunted them, I have lived in the bush for months on end and have had numerous encounters. Media paints a vastly different picture of the wolf than what the actual reality is. If you want to vilify someone for shooting one I'd suggest you join a group of like minded individuals like p eta. I can tell you I'd have blasted more than my fair share over the years if I carried a firearm. Regarding the size of the wolves in the picture I've seen animals that size in the interior of Pukaskwa National park. Pretty much the size of a deer, just unreal.
