  1. while i want to make the mature response, all i can think is AWESOME! darwin awards aside (and deserving) i cant help but think having a beer with these guys would change your life. nice call on the bond caps!
  2. another proud moment for TC10. if you dont have anything of value to add - dont post.
  3. im thankful the OFC is here to provide me with hundreds of opinionated, factless, tactless, know it all to argue with 24/7. but seriously thanksgiving is the unofficial anniversary for my wife and I, and my sons birthday. ill be getting together with all the family and working all weekend. we'll be doing dropoffs at the local shelters to help with their efforts. happy turkey day! PS i was kidding about that first part you know, mostly....
  4. what is the name of the lake? just kidding great pics. 1080HD videos are outrageous. play them on the right tv i couldn't beleive the picture quality. it must be awesome to lake hop like you do.
  5. well craig do me a favor dont tell my local dealers! like the toyota dealer who has serviced my us truck since 2007, the johnson dealer who has serviced my outoard since 2008, or the ontario humminbird dealer who has serviced both my fishfinders. they must all have big hearts to eat all these costs. my toyota dealer did not eat a 4000$ repair on a us bought vehicle to be a nice guy you know? as i said - in my experience with multiple us vehicles i haven't had any issues.
  6. discoverboating.ca free launches all over toronto, the bluffs, promenade, port credit
  7. thanks for fillin in the blanks tenessee guy. the truth will likely spoil the mix.....
  8. its a stratos excursion series. it haunts fishless bodies of water surrounding the hammer. you could have seen it on lake erie from dover to lngpoint, at the bay, on simcoe, etc. or parked at a bar between here and there.
  9. Couldn't have said it better myself Chance, i now think you are the smartest guy on the board.
  10. the fish is trying to tell his buddies 'hey i stole this super fancy gloomis custom blah blah' and his buddies say 'sure man, it was probably just an ugly stick." even fish tell fishing stories.
  11. most likely rural we would agree? if a structure fire has progressed enough to threaten/ignite adjacent properties its toast. especially with 3 ff's working off a 30 year old firetruck.( in a town whose 2500 residents, lets say own 500 homes, each contributing 75$ = 37500 not enough to cover one ffs wage for the year by the way not to mention half million dollar appparauts). almost ALL rural properties will be destroyed by fire in a rural situation, even in wealthy areas with serious volunteer or composite firefighters. 400 in taxes wont get you fire protection even with a 75 levy. as to this happening in ontario? youd have to give me a good ezample, and not soemting you heard from uncle burt. ontario has great funding for small communties and mutual aid agreements exist between communities as well. the fireprotection act allows for ff's to enter and act on lands adjacent to their districts so there is no 'its not in our district'. as an example hamilton responds regularlyy with burlington on the QEw, and with grimsby, and with brantford.
  12. probably show up and itsa gio, not a yamaha. or itll be a yomaha, or a yamaho.
  13. i catch more unicorns than walleye these days
  14. south fulton tenn has 2500 residents residential property tax average 409$ fire dept consists of 3 ff's nearest town over 50000 people is 60 miles away. that house was going to the ground anyway. a citizen has no legal duty to act. a firefighter has a legal duty to perform his job to the standards set by his dept. this is a crazy story. im just throwin in some factoids.
  15. im afraid i have to go with tybo on this one. cant say what woiuld happen with the overseas sales but warranties are honored from the us. in spite of all the threats these are north american warranites. what happens when yo drive your car in the states - it is still covered by warratny when you travel. my us vehicle has had warranty repairs in canda, as my stratos boat and its johnson outboard, and its humminbird electronics, etc. now my us purchased vehicel only qualifies for us recalls and servicebulletines, just my experience cant speak for everyone.
  16. where do you see prices? have you contacted them?
  17. the 12 guage is readily availabe, suitable for every task you could imagine. the 870 is readily available, suitable for every task you could imagine. a buddy just bought a wingmaster for 275 using it for skeet and trap. i guess im just agreeing with everybody, an 870 is bulletproof, easy to find used, and just as easy to sell if you choose to upgrade/change needs (but you never will) good luck.
  18. i spend alot of time at home with the kids. an interesting part of each day are the 'treasure hunts' - you know, all 4 pairs of kids shoes are in my wifes car, the sunscreen found its way into the liquor cabinet? etc. so to keep our sanity around the place i pretend these frustrating last minute searches are treasure hunts and get the kids on it. here is the latest, i had to take a pic. went thru sons sock drawer 5 minutes before school..... almost defies logic, not a pair in the bunch.im sure we've all been there. carry on.
  19. look up the gun you want online. price it at lebarons, bps etc. then look up the local shops to see if they match it. its a bit of a drive but elwood epps on hwy 11 is a good shop, big selection. check the big wholesalers in alberta they will ship to you. the largest used site out there is canadiangunnutz.com and should give you an idea on used prices. happy shopping!
  20. in the past there was always ways to find personal info, it was more difficult and costly. in a previous job i used a canada 411 type thing that was purchased from bell on DVD to perform address searches, reverse lookups etc. the 'vernons' directory was another source of info the one would access in the library to look up employer and employee personal info. you could track a person from name,, address, employer, phone #, whatever you had just fill in the blanks with the others. licence plate searches are available for a fee. blah blah the point being all that work and searching can now be done by anyone, quick and cheap, on the internet. i dont know how or why some people show up and some dont. also have no idea how to 'remove' yourself, probably eaier to go back in time!
  21. i read somewhere the deer had recently been depressed and had some troubles with substance abuse in the past. earlier had jumped off a shorter bridge but this "cry for help" went unnoticed.....
  22. if i get tired of the 20$ i just bring a guy with me. if he doesn't offer up the 20$ when we get to the marina i bring someone else next time!!! but seriously its the cost of the travelling fisherman. look at it this way - you could pay 1500$ for a slip and fish the same water day in day out, or go rogue and fish new water all the time. 1500/20 = ??? i dunno alot of ramp fees!!!!
  23. will trade smoked meat for longpoint intel.
  24. thanks dan - i might be incorrect about this but when i come in from the east i find it quicker to drive the boat across from turkey point then it is to drive the truck around to the old cut. if i come down thru simcoe way it makes sense to go to the old cut i suppose. it could just be id rather be in the boat than the truck. i think the boat uses less gas too on the same drive. by the way by old cut you do mean in longpoint dont you?
  25. my garage is always open for fishing stories. the BBQ might be goin' as well.
