  1. I went from this in 2007: to this in 08: I never actually tracked the loss, so I don't know actual numbers. Here's what I do know: 1. In 07, I was wearing 3XL t shirts. Today, LG/XL depending on brand. 2. In 07, I was wearing 48" pants. Today, 40/42". What worked for me? Well, just going by the pictures, bike riding probably did the most. I also eliminated Coke from my diet. They say the average Coke drinker can drop 12 pounds in a year just by stopping drinking it. I was drinking way more than the average guy. Also, some smarter decisions can pay off huge in the long run, such as: 1. I never used to eat breakfast. Now I make it a point to eat something, even if it's just a couple pieces of toast. 2. I think this one is huge....make your own lunch and bring it to work. That way YOU control portions, and what you are actually eating. 3. Smaller meals, but more often. It's easier for your body to break down smaller amounts of food, than it is larger. Finally, and also very important. Don't feel like you can't enjoy a big dirty steak, or have a couple beers while watching the game. You can. You just can't make it a habit. I still go out with friends and enjoy, I just don't do it daily. Moderation makes a huge difference. Good luck!
  2. I'm not 100% sure they are still there, but I think there is a coin dealer located in the Pickering Flea market. There also used to be one in the Courtice market as well. Might be worth checking out.
  3. Take transit. It's easier than finding a place to park. As for fishing at OP...good luck. It's possible to do, but they will throw you out if they see you. That being said, there are many, MANY places to shore fish in downtown Toronto. You just have to be willing to put in the legwork.
  4. I can't believe these haven't been mentioned: AC/DC No Bull, and Plug Me In Metallica - Live Sh+t Binge and Purge Slayer - Still Reigning Stompin Tom - In Concert
  5. And if you come by the newly re-located Warden/Eglington location, you might just find me as well
  6. I mountain bike through the Don Valley on a regular basis. A few months ago when we had some torrential rain, all the bike trails were flooded to where you couldn't ride em. When the water receded enough to start some trail rehab, this is what was found in a couple of the puddles: Just a small example of what was removed from the puddles, and RETURNED to the river. There are fish there...
  7. Thats what I thought as well, until late September hit. Tuf Line holds WAY more water than Power Pro, and in the fall, thats not good at all. When I'm in the front of the boat casting, my partner in the back shouldn't be getting sprayed with water from my line. I'll stick with PP.
  8. Hey Garry! Thanks for posting that. The camo line looks cool. Maybe MuskyBill will try it out! During the 06 off season, I picked up a Quantum Cabo CBC30 lo profile baitcaster to use on my musky jerkbait rod. I was just going to use Power Pro, because I have had great success with it. I use it on all my reels, from Calcutta 250's and 400's, Curado 200, Symetre 2500 and have never had any issues. Anywho, on the recommendation of a friend, I tried out the Spiderwire Stealth, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with it! Nice and strong, and it seems to have a bit of an oval shape, which seems to make it reel onto the spool nicer. I'd recommend it, and I would use it again! My 2 cents Mike
  9. If I'm not mistaken, FHR used to fly fish for carp using crayfish imitating flies. Could be on to something..
  10. Make sure you pack along your patience. I suspect quite a number people will be out in that particular area.
  11. I hooked some nice pike on a HOT PINK Hawg Seeker jerkbait, and had a couple hits on a purple Depthmaster Jerkbait. They work.
  12. HAHAHA I agree with you Bill. I bet you J.P and that poor bass he "landed" would as well.
  13. True...to a point. Because it isn't a "straight" retrieve back to the boat, it's hard for the fish to track it. I would agree that the extra weight does help with blow ups. The same sort of thing can be achieved by wrapping the hooks with lead solder on lighter baits, like the Jackpot.
  14. Never tried a Mojo Weagle, but I do have a handfull of original Musky Nut Tackle Weagles. They are quite heavy, and a bit of a chore to toss out. They also take a little bit of practice to get a good cadence on the retrieve. Once you get the hang of it, the action is great. Moves a ton of water, and makes an awesome sound. Good luck
  15. Lucky guy! This is all I keep getting
  16. Funny, I've heard the exact opposite. Plastic gearing inside can lead to issues.
  17. I actually bought a couple dvd's from them last year. Topwater bass, and a topwater mucky one. Good stuff!
  18. I didn't notice it mentioned, but one thing thats EXTREMELY important, is to make sure that the tail fin is actually inserted straight. Before I buy any, I always make sure the fin is as level as possible. Makes getting it tuned properly much easier.
  19. Nice bass Garry! Thanks for the updates! Mike
  20. They are awesome baits for muskies, and giant largies. I picked mine up off of eBay. Spooks are indeed the same thing, just a different brand, much like the Weagle.
  21. I'll be off to work in the morning. It will be interesting to see what effect this weather has on business. Sometimes bad weather makes for a slow day, sometimes a busy day. Considering that it's only a couple weeks till Christmas, I suspect we shall have a good day regardless! Mike
  22. When I go ice fishing, I just wear some good waterproof insulated hiking boots and a GOOD pair of Helly Hansen Poly Pro socks. Working in clothing retail, I've noticed that people will pay a lot of money for decent boots, BUT won't wear good socks. It doesn't matter what you have on your feet, if you wear crappy socks, you will be cold! Get some HH's, or Smartwool hiking socks and you're all set. If you do start to feel a little chill, take a little walk around for a couple minutes, and your golden.
  23. Should be good for business over at Mark's...it's amazing how many ppl in Toronto don't buy a winter jacket, or even gloves until it's too late!
  24. Raf (I think) My HH suit is approved. I had a picture of the inside of teh suit, but can't seem to find it. Anyways, I'm not sure whether they all are, but mine is. Honestly, I would probably bring my life jacket with me anyways on a boat.
  25. Lexxington, you should remember this shot! Love my HH suit!
