  1. The year started off with a bang! My wife Anna and I had our first baby on Jan. 12th. They are a constant reminder of why life is amazing. Yes, the addition of Eliana meant less angling for me but I still managed to get out to satisfy the itch. In years past Bass and Pike occupied most of my days but this year I chose to mix it up to target a larger variety of species. March - May One of many intruders while in the pursuit of STEEL Highdrifter with some Spring Steel. June - Sept In July, I purchased my first fly rod/reel combo. It's too bad I couldn't find the time to use it in prime resident trout streams. To fill the void, I put it to use in the not so nice river right behind my place to target Carp. Before I got the fly set up, I was able to take the light action spinning gear to some nice water and connected with a few smaller fish. In August, Highdrifter and myself headed up to Nipissing to fish in extremely difficult conditions. We did manage a couple though... Then there was the fall...What an awesome couple months it was. My buddy Dan's sweet Brown! Dan, you are a great angler and an even better friend and mentor. Another solid fishing partner. Now on to playing some basketball for a couple months to get this butt in shape. Thanks for taking the time. All the best during the holidays and in 2011! Laszlo
  2. Some weird smells coming from that dam. With so many places to fish...why go there?
  3. Thanks to all of you that offered a new home for Ida and had reassuring words of wisdom. Today is her last day with us at home. Tomorrow morning, I leave for Temagami to drop her off to her new owners Carrie and Doug (aka - John the Fisherman). After talking with them I feel like I couldn't have found a better situation for her. She will continue to be a very happy, loving dog. So many adventures we shared. She will be missed beyond words. Laz
  4. Thanks Spincast. I have learned a lot over the last year. I'm guessing you remember the progression topic?
  5. Thanks Fidel. You know how much I love that dog. My heart is in pain but I feel like she's going to an amazing place which helps a lot!
  6. Monday provided my best day of Steelheading so far... Can't wait for another fantastic day of Steelheading!
  7. Ida has 95% found a new home up in Temagami with great people in an ideal situation. Thanks for the help guys! If anything changes I'll post here. Oh and Barnie...the deal was for a huge sum of 0 bucks.
  8. If the best offer is 0 dollars, that's fine. I want her to go to a happy family environment where she can run daily and be completely content. She won't just be going to anyone who offers me money. Like a breeder we will be interviewing possible owners. So far two OFNer's have offered to take her for free and that may end up being the case if the situation is right. Thanks for the advice and assuming I'm a complete idiot though.
  9. Thanks. I made changes the the original post.
  10. Hello Everyone. My wife is starting an in-home daycare and it seems most clients are put off by the fact that we have a dog. She (Ida) is a Pure Bred Weimaraner in perfect health, fixed and is 6 years old. If your not familiar with the breed, they are very athletic/energetic and require 30-45 minutes of OFF LEASH exercize daily. I can't stress that enough. She has all her shots, is great with kids, and is full of love. This breed needs to be in the home with the family and would not do well as a yard dog. She would be a great partner for any hunters that target field birds. Pics... This is an unbelievably difficult thing to do so finding the right home for her is very important to us. Please personal message me for any inquiries and even if she's not for you please spread the word. We will take the best offer. Thanks Laszlo
  11. I haven't fished it before but it does feed the section of The Humber behind my house and it seems the water that comes out of there is usually really stained. I have heard of Largies being in there.
  12. I just designed a new rod and reel that allows you to cast into the enitre GTA. It's awesome!
  13. It was a 3 point game with under 1 minute to go. Not that I'm a fan of Miami. I too would like to see them struggle this year. On a Bosh note: If he averages 14 points & 8 rebounds Miami should be happy with that being that LBJ and Wade are the first and seconds options.
  14. Well done Tyler. Wish I could have made it up there this fall.
  15. After I left Fidel (Highdrifter) tactfully connected with this Male on the Fly Rod! Nicely Done Buddy.
  16. Hit the river early morning before work on Saturday. Only had a little over an hour to play and this fresh hen made my day!
  17. What a great time of year. I wish it could last but I guess winter has it's charm as well. I took my fly rod to the river to see if some carp were still around and ready to bite but they've all moved down to deeper water. Ida...my partner in crime. Can anyone identify these plants for me? It's the first year that I've seen them here. Thanks for reading. Hopefully my next post has some Chromage! It's just getting started. Laz
  18. My friend landed this guy while we were out on Sunday. At first we thought it was a small salmon. It took him way down river. Loving October!
  19. Wake up, brew my coffee, chill at the computer before work...read a great report...PERFECT. Well done.
  20. It would be too hard to part with. So many miles put on that shirt. Since I know your Mr. Money Bags now...let's start the offer at $50 bucks. Your going to have to shed 20 pounds and get abs of steel! Congrats on the job! I'm proud of you man.
  21. 2010 started off with my wife Anna and I having our first baby. What an amazing experience. Eliana born Jan. 12th. Eliana now. Yes, it's true time goes by crazy fast. The last 8 months have gone by in a flash. On to some fish... Channel Cats on the Pin! My first fish on the fly! Wish it was a 20" plus brown but I'll take it. Now on to the fall.
  22. I stayed on Dog Lake 5 years ago at Fox's Den. That section is very deep and choppy. The fishing was ok but it did provide me with my Personal Best Walleye at 25"!!!
  23. Awesome! Nice meeting you and your family as short as it was.
