Yes painless if you consider losing several grand after two years. When you look for a larger rig try finding one that is a couple year old and return the depreciation favor.

Installing my new Lowrance
lookinforwalleye replied to lookinforwalleye's topic in General Discussion
Install is done used the the puck board as suggested...can't wait to get the boat in the water and check out down imaging. -
Think long and hard about the investment...it's not a cheap endeavor when you add everything up. Easy to get in and difficult to get out...I am in Layzee Acres a guy in the park I knew had to get out of his trailer after two years and took a bath in at 40k out at 23k. They are not a easy sell when you want to get out! Having said all that I love the park and I enjoy luxury camping...kingsize bed...big screen...central air and heat etc.Lol

Just wondering what others have done, the manual says a shoot thru the hull method MAY diminish the returns on the down imaging side of the sonar. I felt on my old fish finder that the shoot thru method affected the sonar returns, never gave accurate reading especially at speed. I am a little skittish about drilling into my fibreglass but I am thinking if I want the full benefit of down imaging then a transom mounted ducer is the way to go. The boat is Stratos 176XT wondering what other glass boat owners thoughts are on the install. Thanks

That sucks man, I used to leave a bunch of combos and tackle worth thousands locked in the Stratos but no more after a dirt bag was making the rounds by boat on Dalrymple ripping people off a few years back.

Foreigners buying up land in Ontario ???
lookinforwalleye replied to Entropy's topic in General Discussion
Well if that shocks you you would be down right flabbergasted by the amount of land that Canadians and Canadian corporations own!!!! -
I feel your pain we spent 9 hours at PMH yesterday for less than 5 minutes of face time with the doctor, now in our case there is little the doctor can tell us that I don't already know. All the doctor did was reiterate what I had researched already. I am quickly learning that the real stars are the support staff. Good luck with your battle.

Everbody has a preffered brand but after having both my HB'S die on the Stratos recently I will be looking at another brand for replacement.
