  1. Just reading about ethanol and phase separation in boat gas tanks. I’ve had no problems and want to keep it that way. I’m guessing, after 11 yrs, that I’ve got some water and gunk in the bottom if my Lund’s tank. Should I get this checked? How and who would do this? I have a fuel “Reserve” setting that I can use if I run out of gas. It’s just a lower pickup in the gas tank. It’s more likely to pick up crap I’m guessing. Will stay away from using it. What say you Guys about a cleanout?
  2. A lot of expensive clothes and Gucci bags walking around for sure. Different crowd than Sportsman show
  3. Got there Sunday(Last day) 2 pm. Not busy at all. Some end of show discounts but nothing great Spring Show is far better
  4. I hear you but not sure I agree. We’ve had our cottage now for 6 yrs. It’s been great for our family and now the grandkids. It cost a pile of money but fortunately has appreciated by 50% since purchase. We spend most of our weekend and holiday time there. We rent it to people we know 3 weeks per year which pays most expenses. I live frugally otherwise. Been a good thing
  5. Only about 1/3 the size of spring show. Wont bother with fall show again
  6. Great post Rattletrap. Better than a fishing report! I’m with you on the automatic Generac units. Like Lew said. They are made in USA, I believe. Not sure if their portables are. Would like to know. Way cheaper than HONDA. I’m not very technically capable like you are. So im ok to pay extra for higher quality within reason.
  7. Thought that was a spring pattern, Chris?
  8. Looks like getting 2 Honda 2200w inverters is the way to go . 1 for home and 1 for cottage. Then have both home for winter ?
  9. I’m realizing how much warmer a cork handled rod is to hold in the cold weather. Compared to a rubber/foam synthetic handle. Trolled for hours today. Without gloves there’s a big difference. You rod connoisseurs like know this already. New to me. Water is gin clear and 53 F today on north Pigeon Might be the last go at it this year. Long term weather forecast is not encouraging Peter
  10. Joined Lund Boat Owners site on FaceBook. Lots of posts daily. Seems there are problems with Lund boats. The fibreglass models get cracked hauls. Aluminum boats have rotten transoms. Corrosion in places. Seems to be mainly in newer boats. Its been an eye opener for this Lund owner 2007 Tyee 1750 ?
  11. TVO program last night on super foods. BC natives don’t like catch and release salmon fishing. They say it’s playing with food.
  12. Hope she does good by you
  13. Sounds like a bust to me. Last half as long and worse mileage
  14. Just recently learned about this tire class. Better in winter than All Season tires. Not as good as Winter Tires. Sounds look like they might be the way to go here in the GTA Does anybody have any experience with them? Do they last as long as All Seasons?
  15. Thanks for that!
  16. Great report!
  17. Thanks Dan. I hear ya. I don’t think the Chinese machines come in much more tha 2000 watts as inverters. The bigger generators say they have built in surge protectors and manufacturers say are safe for electronics. Who knows. A Honda 5000 watt inverter is about $4700. ? I would love one of them.
  18. Troll along shore and offshore hump weed edges. 15-20 ft deep. Run baits close to bottom. Fish see a lot of baits this time of year. Especially weekends. Good luck
  19. So did some research on the cheaper generators. Seems Generac and Champion are decent brands. Not going to run forever but likely good enough for the occasional power outage. Duel fuel is a nice option. Both offer local service and parts. Anybody have good ideas as to which might be preferable?
  20. Nice. Great day. Now you need to work on finding the big girls! Typically trolling deeper this time of year
  21. As far as I know. Hours don’t reflect RPMs. Big difference if trolling vs WOT.
  22. The duel fuel option sounds good. Anybody know if they run on natural gas? Could use my NG BBQ outlet.
  23. My son in Ottawa was without power for 5 days recently after the tornadoes. He had a generator and was able to keep his family and some neighbors functioning. I’d like to do the same. I know Honda and Yamaha units are best. But they are a lot more expensive than Chinese machines from Costco, HD etc. Are they worth it for the occasional use I’m planning? I’m guessing they all need to be maintained the same. Draining fuel properly or at least starting regularly to keep them from gumming up.
  24. Yup. I would love to hear from a fuel chemical engineer type to get the facts.
