  1. We're overdue for an ice age.. global warming may be the only thing saving our
  2. Agreed JWL.. might as well just have a painting done of your catch.
  3. Yessir Danbo I think there's a couple more. Before the criticism rolls in I wrote those articles when I was 17 so cut me some slack, lol
  4. Minimum cost is $10 per inch at most places, a little much for what could easily be caught in a picture. What I do is simply take several thousand pics of the big fish, get it printed off as best possible on photo paper and frame the picture. If you wish, write the measurements and weight right on the picture somewhere. There ya go, everyone gets to see your fish the best way possible, when it's fresh caught and ready to go back. And a framed pic is a lot cheaper than a mounted fish or a replica mount, that's for sure.
  5. Must have thrown you off with the handsome.. it's me.
  6. Nothing wasted about that morning!
  7. As would most of us, since that is the law.
  8. Congrats! Just 38 1/2 years to go for me, lol
  9. BPS, I'd say no.. if your wife likes malls however, the mall attached to it may be her cup of tea. It's huge!
  10. Workin.
  11. At that time of year you really shouldn't need to drop the spinnerbait rod.
  12. If ya look close, there are some great articles by a really handsome man on there
  13. I think it's tougher to land a big steelhead than anything else personally.
  14. The pinks are coming up some Lake Erie tribs now, won't be long before the others move in too.
  15. And I don't think there's one out of the 6000 that I didn't enjoy reading!
  16. lol yeah Cudz I jumped on the same bandwagon too! Haven't been spooled since I was 10 with this unique tactic.
  17. Go with a low or mid range Shimano combo. It will perform well and last ya quite a while. TX series has been good to me. Actually I've had my TX reel now 4 years still works great and I abuse it, lol
  18. I prepare them the way you say, gutted & gilled - remove the slime from the skin of the fish, completely changes the taste to a much less fishy, yet at the same time more flavorful taste. I then coat them in buttermilk pancake mix and put a clementine or lemon wedge or two in the belly.
  19. My dad had the same thing happening to him when he ran a 130 on the bass boat. Throttle up, BEEEEEEEPPPPP.. Turned out to be weeds in the impeller. luckily (?) or so he says the next week he ruined the motor on a rock coming out of the upper Niagara and upgraded to a 150.
  20. They were all the rage down here last year, not too many people speaking of them this year. Anybody using them with any success? Last time I was out on my honey hole all they'd hit is the chatterbait and the Scrounger. Seemed to want that side to side wobble, but for some reason wouldn't touch crankbaits. Other than that day, I've not seen too many days where the chatterbait outfished a spinnerbait. I know on LPB last year we couldn't tie one on without a pike destroying it in 5 casts.
  21. Just wondering if those who chase carp regularly prefer braid or mono? Just a question out of curiosity. Personally I prefer mono.
  22. Stealth Code Red looks awesome, can't wait to try it.
  23. Nice bucket! Looks like a spot my dad used to take me when I was a kid. He always told me stories of big bass there, but I don't remember us catching anything but catfish. Good to know he's not a liar, hahaha
  24. Well ain't that convenient, I got the boat and nothing to take it anywhere in! Let me know when you're free.. I don't have a gas motor but there are some great bass lakes near me that are electric accessible. Big bass, and a little different fishing shallow water! I'm ready to go whenever you can spare a day man.
  25. Dang I miss pike fishing. There's pike a half hour south of me and I can't get there. Nice work. Sad to see I missed the pic but they sound like good fish!
