  1. Well.. maybe from smaller lakes from down south in the middle of nowhere where the water is clean and fresh.. But from this area... with high population and all the farms runoff feeding the watersystem... i don't think so. Eaither way... I think I would rather eat pine cones..
  2. I don't think you wanna keep anything you catch in there!! lol
  3. I wouldn't consider eating anything that has a small sucker style mouth that feeds off bottom.... lol..
  4. Thanks, yeah and when the water was so clear like yesterday, I switched up and went to a Mepps Comet # 2 Gold/Char and landed 2 - 18" Bows.
  5. You should of added a poll to this message before you posted it. lol I use a Palomar most of the time, but sometimes the improved clinch knot. Heres a awsome site to check out for those who want to learn those knots plus more. Each knot has a animation and instructions. Animated Fishing Knots - How To
  6. I hope he survives too. I only had him out of the water for about 1 min max to shoot the pic and weigh and measure, had to hold him up in the water for about 2 min before he kicked off. I have a feeling he might not survive, cause there was fresh blood coming from the wound.. Eaither way.. life cycle.. he dies.. and other fish and creek life feed off his body.
  7. I can't believe how many injured trout I have seen caught this year.. Eaither missing part of a fin, of Lamprey marks, or large scrapes down their side or absesses ontheir belly .. But today.. I was in grafton again and caught these two.. both 18" weighing in just under 2lbs each. I really didn't feel comfortable taking them home due to the marks on them, so I released them to grow bigger and hopefully live on and heal.... But i don't know how well the one will heal! Just can't figure out what made that amount of damage! Even the fish I can see in the creek and others that have been caught out of there and in Cobourg and at the Ganny... lots of marks! whats going on this year with all that! Pic 1 - Fish looks perfect including the sun glaring off the beautiful skin.. right.... think again. look at pic 2 of the same fish!! Pic 2 - One hell of a lamprey mark... or something else?
  8. Tasted amazing, used EVOO, Sea Salt, Pepper, and a Garlic Seasoning.. Now I gotta get a few more and pack some in the freezer!!
  9. Well finally got my first bow tody! I was so happy! Ive been going to the same spot for a week straight!! Ive been getting some under 12", but finally something decent! Well heres some pics.. Already ate 1/2 a filet! Done on the BBQ.. soooo tasty lol.. Ive been craving it for months!! Species - Rainbow Trout Sex - Male Weight - 4lbs 8oz Length - 24 1/4" Location - Grafton Creek @ Lakeshore Rd Lure - Mepps Black Fury #2 Weather - Overcast & Breezy - 7pm - Following Morning Rain
  10. Biggests way would be for them to figure out how to manipulate the DNA so women cant get prego until they at like 25!! Too many teen pregnancys....
  11. Im auctually going to hit CTC today and pick up a new fly reel and some flys.. the fish where I am, they are jumping non stop!! in fishing a 2 hour period.. i will see 30+ large bows jump for flys.. and probly a couple thousand jumps by 12 inch and under! no joke! flys under a slip bobber are not working eaither.. so figure I gotta go top water!!
  12. as long as they don't see you drinkin in the canoe, i don't think you will have to worry, they probly won't check.. unless your paddling in circles I don't think its so much about you operating the boat/canoe/car/truck/lawnmower.. its more how your acting on it, and they could charge you with public intoxication.. as long as your not on your own property..
  13. I have similar problem, except that im not landing anything over 12 inches! there is 30-40 forearm length and larger.. they are chasing.. but not taking the spinners, spoons, pinkies, flys or anything I put in front of them! Ive been fishing this one spot for a solid week and even with the heavy rains, they show up again as soon as the water is clear! and this is a large pool that is at the enterance to the lake.. so if the heavy rains didn't push them back to the lake.. why are they just sitting there?
  14. You can check out Hidden Hitch which shows you the auctual hitch what it looks like. It does not require drilling and uses factory holes, and the hitch hides behind the bumper. so all you will see is the square tube reciever in the middle. Personally it is a job you could do yourself in a hour or two of time at home. But defaintly check on the price at van and truck world for the hitch and wiring.. defaintly cheaper then canadian tire.. and probly still cheaper then uhaul. Don't forget its not the old school wiring, you need the light converter.. any vehicle that has the amber turn signal seperate from the brake light bulbs.. Here you can see the part numer and even shows you the light converter. http://www.hiddenhitch.com/fitguides/hitch...mp;partno=87422 As for the question on overdrive during hauling.. Not worth having it on unless you have 10km+ of flat highway with no traffic.... which you will not find in ontario! haha
  15. I think the board rules should state, that if you post a tasty looking fish like that and plan to cook it for dinner... you MUST SHARE! lol nice catch!
  16. sweet, now when I go visit my brother in London I have a excuse to go do some fishing if I get bored!!
  17. Thanks, yup that would be the one i'm refering to! ) Have you tried up at Humber Bay Park?? I know its not much further, I have went up there a few times to shoot photos. Looks like it would be prime for pike maybe???? Rockey bottom, weed patches... Im defiantly going to have to get back up that way this summer thou! Try out some of the spots I never had a chance to..
  18. Don't forget the more weight you add behind the wheels on the boat.. will also remove a little weight off the tongue, kinda like a counter balance. You don't want to have too much on the front eaither, specially with a front wheel drive vehicle. Excess weight on the tongue will raise the front of your tow vehicle, and affect the steering, braking and traction.
  19. If you lived closer, I would say pick up the bearing and bring em my way, Ill do it for $80! lol Its a fairly simple task.
  20. I lived about 5 min away for the past 6 months, just moved back up to Colborne thou.. There is a nice stream that you can access down at the east end by Dixie Rd.. For those who do not know the area. when your on lakeshore heading east, just past Dixie Rd, on the right is a enterence to a public park area, before you go over the bridge, follow the road down and it will bring you to the mouth of the river, seen alot of guys fishing there mid April. Never stayed long enough to see anything caught thou.
  21. Every vehicle model uses a different hitch, I would reccomend Van & Truck World.. They usually carry common ones in stock, but if they do not have it, they can normally get it with in 3 business days. I used to work for them for 3 years as a Tech in Cobourg. Prices are usually the cheapest but quality the highest.. They deal with alot of bulk so there prices are lower then most places. Uhaul uses alot of universal hitches.. and the load rating is much lower and the design is bad.. Hidden Hitch which Van & Truck World carrys the most.. I beleive the company was bought out so the hitches are called something else now, but they are designed to be hidden. Just give them a call ahead of time, and they can make sure to have the hitch and wiring in stock and setup an appointment with you. 22. Nice catch! I defaintly have to get out on a charter this year! Its been years since I fished offshore. As for the camera, probly needs a cleaning like mine did.. Couldn't believe the difference afterwards.. Even have before and after shots! Just use a Qtip with a little rubbing alcohol diped on the end.. and roll it between your fingers to clean the lens. do that 2-3 times each time with a fresh Qtip. Make sure you only get enough alcohol to dampen the end.. You don't want it dripping wet. and then use a final clean dry Qtip to buff it up, don't use much pressure thou.. And your good to go! Surprisingly Blackberrys can can decent quality shots for the web! And during the day set it with flash off! Not auto.
  23. Never been there, or heard of it.. But looking at the map.. I would defiantly be interested in throwing some casts into the two small ponds just south of the lake right beside 15th Side Rd. Since the main lake is dumping into those ponds.. I imagine what ever you catch there would be also in the main lake!
  24. *DROOOOOOL* MMMMMM SPECKS......... lol
  25. hahaha NICE! bet the interior smells nice after drying out... specially on a hot summer day! lol
