Off the Dock Toons T-Shirt Contest - Guess the Weight!
bucketmouthjohnny replied to Harrison's topic in General Discussion
10.05 lbs, no duplicates, what the heck, i've edited twice now -
Crystal Beack ramp now charges $5. Better than Port C which is 10 i believe. There is a parking ticket machine, put your 5 bucks in and place ticket you receive on your dash. Good luck, a few friends told me it was on fire last weekend, of course i didn't make it out, i usually get to go when the fishing is a little slower

I agree with JP, 65lb for sure in the junk. Also agree with them toothy critters, lost 2 a few weeks ago, damn 9 bucks down the drain.... 777, you could always go to 20 pound mono, even vanish for a little less stretch. You are only flippin your bait 60 feet at most , more than likely less than 30 feet. Good luck , John

My sister was just there this week, they seem to like it. I think they take day trips and such and have been going to Awenda at least 2 or 3 times. I can ask her maybe later today if she is back how the park is. There might be a pond there too? not sure though. Will post again after i talk to my sister, gotta get the boat hooked up now, get to go fishing, yee haw, please no lightning.... John

Charles, we ain't talkin catfish BTW, how are you? I hear tons of stories, and i do remember that 6 lb average story The best is a guy in my bass club swears he used to catch 10 - 14 lb buckets many years ago. What can you say to the guy, other than, i hope this day ends soon(as he is my partner for the day), i can't listen to too much bull.... i just say that's nice, good luck, see ya... BTW, probably 5-6 lbs on this pictured fish in my opinion, John

Wow!! that is a huge bass Seriously though, nice pike!!!! Gotta agree with Radnine, you might have a chance with the frying skillet to the back of the head -
No one said a double buzz bait? how about a topwater frog? not sure the type of structure in the pond but i love a spook for big fish. only if you know how to use it though.

I agree with singing dog. I am a cheap bugger! i always, no matter if it is braid or mono or fluoro, tie to the old line so i only have around 80-100 yards of fresh line. When i start to notice my blood/uni knot, i know i have to respool. There is around 3 feet to a yard, how far can you cast? 100 feet? If you are trolling with long leads, respool whole reel. Mind you, i am respooling 6-10 reels every month or two depending on usage, twist etc.. (not braid though). If you have one or two reels, you won't notice much of a savings. I just can't see the benefit of using a whole spool of braid for one reel

I'm on there, but rarely check it out. once in awhile when i'm bored. you can find me under my board name..

Ditto Garry!! Won't throw one without it. Only diff is i put the stinger eye over the baits hook, than cut a 1/2 "piece of tubing and just push it to the bend of the main hook. This way the stinger has flexibility and still stays inline. I have done it with the tubing over the eye and than pushed onto main but like the looser, free swinging trailer.

What shaft length for trolling motor?
bucketmouthjohnny replied to Bigfisherman's topic in General Discussion
Depends on where you fish. if you like fishing shallow water, than a 54 inch might suffice. but with a 39 inch drop from the bow, i would go with a 60 inch, props don't work well out of water and in a 2-3 foot chop , your motor will be more out than in, making it tough to gain momentum. good luck! Crankin for BASS in shallow to medium waters
bucketmouthjohnny replied to sandmann's topic in General Discussion
Well, I am a jig man and plastic baits, but a crank should always be close at hand here's a link to where i stayed last summer, my daughter and i posing with a small 4 lb 12 oz bucket, caught on a white crank, http://www.goldenbeachresort.com/about/brochure/ Hit one shoreline and altarnating between a tube and crank, nailed probably 20 plus bass , probably more, in about an hour or so. It was a smallish weedbed about 6-7 fow, just had to throw the crank out, and start reeleing till you felt the weeds, then just let her float up for 2/3 seconds, and usually when i start it back i sweep the rod to get it erraticly moving, most bite happen right after that so make sure you have reeled in most slack. A white crank is a staple in my largie arsenal, give it a try!! -

huge nipissing largemouth bass
bucketmouthjohnny replied to lunkerbasshunter's topic in General Discussion
Beauty Fish !!! I'll be happy if I get one 4 lbs today on the upper Niagara!! As for 23 inches and only 5 lb 6 oz, yea, I too caught a 23 incher (in the fall , no less) and it weighed 5.2 on the berkley digital. If you use the weight guide for bass they both should weigh in the 6-7 lb range, they (yours, mine) seemed to both have missed a meal along the way Still a beauty!! -
Here are a few used ones you might want to inquire about, remember price is always negotiable!!! Hope these links from bigfatbass work! http://www.bigfatbass.com/cgi-bin/classifi...query=retrieval http://www.bigfatbass.com/cgi-bin/classifi...query=retrieval http://www.bigfatbass.com/cgi-bin/classifi...query=retrieval
