  1. Once again, the Hab haters are proven wrong and left disappointed. A big thank you to Sid the Kid for winning us the gold medal.
  2. "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Sir Winston Churchill, Speech in November 1942 British politician (1874 - 1965)
  3. What a great day to be a Habs fan...from the opening song and sequence by CBC to the final cross-check by Crosby. It didn't look good without Markov and Gill, but Spacek sure filled the gap. And Cammalleri has been unreal. Can't wait until Game 7...
  4. Shouldn't you be doing homework or chores instead of wasting (our) time on the internet?
  5. Too bad about the weather this morning...I was looking forward to getting on the water. Keep the inane comments coming because I love reading the headline... "Let's hear it for the Habs!!!" I hope tonight's game is better than the last one.
  6. Habs even their series against the defending Stanley Cup champs. Hope they can win one of the next two to set up a game 7. Awesome!
  7. If pike is what you are seeking then you won't need to travel far to get to Cache Bay. A friend of mine with family in that area says the water levels are so low that they can't get their new boat in the water though.
  8. not likely...that was pretty mild Malkin making the smurf's head disappear was one sided and a little funny
  9. Hey Hab-haters...maybe you should wait until Pittsburgh or some other team knocks us out before you make more of these misguided statements.
  10. Orange or chartreuse Gulp minnows and white twister tails...water was a little stained when we were there
  11. Had some success with pike up there hitting Rapala husky jerks...a lot of guests commented on catching with these. Water temperature was the key factor in terms of where to fish and how fast to retrieve. If it's under 70F then head for the shallow bays and look for weeds. If it's over 70F then stay in water between 6 and 10 feet deep. For pickeral, did ok with jigs and twister tails...cast them out in the river and let them sink to bottom before reeling them in slowly. May not be a pro tip, but it worked for me. Good luck.
  12. Good for you...Halak was unreal in this series and Montreal didn't stand a chance without him. The odds are equally high against them getting past Pittsburgh. It's been a long time since 1993 so us Habs fans have a lot of bottled up enthusiasm.
  13. Once again...funny how some predictions don't turn out the way you expect. Your definition of "crushed" must be different than everyone else's. Hope you enjoyed the Halak show.
  14. As many of you Hab-Haters know, I cheer for the Rouge, Blanc et Bleu. I'll be happy if Montreal wins one game against Washington. Even Patrick Roy would have a tough time stopping Ovie and friends. It should be a wide open series which will be entertaining.
  15. Thanks for the chuckle, Lunatic...your words say more than you realize.
  16. Funny how some predictions don't turn out the way you expect.
  17. I placed a report with the Conservation Officer hotline. They reassured me there are regular patrols in this area. The two guys had walked away already.
  18. Looking off my balcony just now, there are two guys tossing stick baits on the Toronto Harbourfront. Since pike season is closed on Lake Ontario during the month of April, I wonder what they are fishing for?
  19. Only 3 months and 9 days until my group arrives for a week at the camp...great to see the website.
  20. I've seen enough postings from Quebec these past few months to make me think about finding a nice French Canadien lady (who cheers for the Habs of course) to move in with. Great looking fish!
  21. I kayaked through the west end of the Toronto Islands after work tonight...all ice is gone and the water levels are very low. I saw one mother of a wake and a mud path when I went through a shallow section...probably a big carp. No other sightings or bites. It's hard to be patient with presentation when you're fighting the clock and the sun to cover water. Still was an awesome evening with a warm breeze and water as smooth as glass.
  22. Toronto harbour is rolling this morning with whitecaps from the east...and the forecast for the rest of the weekend is brutal...lots of wind (50km/h + at times) and rain. The western access to Hanlan's Point has opened somewhat...looks like the rowing channel still has ice on the south shore. Only two more weekends for pike fishing so I hope next weekend is better.
  23. Swift at Waub is where I tried my Hobie for the first time...I was hooked after that. Try a few different brands too.
