A few lakers, a few OOS eyes, whitie, brookie and a bow! An amazing trip all around!!! I will be back sooner than later!!! Now its time to get ready for walleyes! Heading up to Oba, Ontario to guide walleyes for 2 weeks! Can't wait! Hope you all enjoyed! TDunn
  10. Hey OFC! It been a busy summer so far for me! Lots of fishing! I ended my steelhead season in the boat on the St. Marys. The first evening we were welcomed with a fish or double on every drift. I think by drift 7 we had 10+ fish in the boat. Nice double! Headed back out a few nights later and we hit a few fish but no numbers like the previous outing. Did land this big female...just shy of 32" Next we tried an inland lake where we did well for walleye this winter. We started pulling spinners over tops of the weeds and quickly found ourselves hammering perch/panfish. Pulled out a slip bobber and had some fun for an hour or two. After we got tired of catching pannies we returned to searching for eyes... Stayed right til dark but came up empty handed. I Landed a few nice OOS smallie up to 20" and Ted landed this beautiful pike. Next up was our trip up to Lake Nipigon! A full week of relaxing, eating and of course world class fishing. Fishing was awesome but there was times throughout the days where you had to work for them. Small spoons were hot at the start of our trip and jig flies were the ticket towards the end. Chuck from nipigon baits (OFC member) had sent me up some jig flies a few years ago. I decided to pop into his shop and he fixed me up again with some more dynamite jig flies. If your heading up to Nipigon hit him up! PM if you want more info.... A great fish to start with... Casting the shorelines of islands 14km out into the lake! We watched this tank take my spoon boatside! Fish/bacon sandwiches! This laker took my jig fly a foot below the surface and went straight down! Part 2 is much smaller and will be up very soon! TDunn

  18. Hey OFC! Its been a busy spring for me. Sorry for the lapse in reports! Anyway, our spring like most other places was odd to say the least. My last trip on the ice was somewhere in Lake Superior Provincial Park. It was a horrible day spent basically gathering wood to stay warm. 9 days later in the St. Marys rapids 12 days later on Superior March was hands down the best month for steel up north. We were greeted with fantastic numbers at almost all our spots. nothing like 2 cold ones after a solid evening of steel Soon the mouths slowed and I moved up river This was Teds first full spring using a pin......ya he's addicted.... Ted Hooking A Steelie I was invited to fish some private property on a stretch of river. It was probably the tightest fishing Ive done with the pin in a few years and it really isn't my cup of tea but I have to admit was fun pulling steel from the brush piles. We walked a few km of rivers and found the fish stacked in two deep holes that were littered with wood. My buddy ended up getting to try his new smoker We snuck out for walleyes twice before the season closed here. Its not to often we get to slide our boats in and fish the mouth of a few rivers but this year the entire lake was ice free before closer.....Amazing... Anyways the numbers for fish in the 16-20" range was great. I had the lucky stick on the first evening hitting these two nice ones 25" 28.5" Ted did the second outing. A nice one coming just short of 27" It had probablky been 3 maybe 4 weeks before I hit the St. Marys again but it was on fire when I did. Fished the rapids 3 days in a row with 2 buds and we lit them up. Bouncing roe took most fish for us Some of the better fish/shots Bonus lakers My last 2 trips to the rapids had fish involved but it wasn't as hot for me as it had been.... Its only about 3 weeks away until my trip to Lake Nipigon! Giant everything is the target! I'm looking for info on the lake. PM's would be appreciated!! Then I'm guiding walleye for 2 weeks. The day I get back from that job, I head south to a OKFS event. Bring on the bass.... Somewhere between these trips, I'll sneak in a report! Take care everyone, TDunn

  22. I seen it too..... Very cool Ben! A dream come true Im sure! I must also say that I have noticed alot of your work over the last 2 years.... I can really tell you do it for the love of the sport. Which I think has been lost over the years in the fishing industry for many......More magazines need some young, fresh writers (like you and hoffman) with new ideas.... keep teaching people man, on a side note.....wow there is alot of ofners in magazines and TV shows.... OFC`s a great place to network... TDunn
