  1. Good to know thank you. Around here its not a straight shot into ponds etc so the 2 man prolly isn't the best option.
  2. Id go ltb without hesitation
  3. Since I don't fish anywhere that I can tow the shelter, sounds like the 2 man is really tough to pull in any amount of snow
  4. Anyone else find the 2 man flips to heavy to pull by hand?
  5. Thanks guys. Anyone else have some ideas on a flip over that can house 2 people and light enough to pull by hand?
  6. Crap sorry guys I meant flip over with a sled type! I may consider a pop-up though!
  7. Guys I'm looking for a flip over shelter that I can pull around by hand that will fit 2 people. Doesn't have to be huge but want one bigger than a 1 man that will also fit in the car. Is there any oversized 1 mans other than the shappell 1.5 or a small profile 2 man around? Having a tough time finding a 2 man that's under 80lbs and small profile. Thanks.
  8. That's perfect guys thanks for the ideas!
  9. Very Nice irishfield! The ram mount is a great idea I think I'm going to do that as well. How did you fix the foam to the transducer cord? This is just so it doesn't go 5ft into the hole?
  10. I'm going cable crazy with my electronics and want to see what kind of box ideas I can build to house the HDS and a battery and have quick access to deploy the ice-ducer. Having a tough time finding the Lowrance ice kit (and the price is a bit staggering), so was wondering what you guys use to rig them up for winter.
  11. That's what got me as well. Wondering if there is a difference in quality of maps between them.
  12. I see this has came out for android based phones as well. If someone was only interested in the Trent-Severn (which both chips have), which would be better in theory? The Mobile Lakes, or Mobile Marine? I see the Lakes version has HD maps of some Kawartha lakes, not sure if that is included in the Marine one. Lakes Marine
  13. Does sprawl-mart have them in stock yet? Not that it matters unless I'm getting the boat out this weekend with all the warm weather coming.
  14. Memory is probably a bigger concern than line twists for me. the small reels are probably not helping.
  15. What are the best swivels to use for the small Ice jigs?
  16. Although the kit is pretty sweet, its easy to build something up that will work. You can source the ice transducer for around $60 and a small battery w/charger for $40 or so. Heck you can use the transom transducer if you have to.
  17. Was wondering if anyone is heading out this week before the melt on Friday.
  18. Well that's a possibility. I have an Abu Cardinal 100u. Seems to work ok but was wondering if it was too small. I like the idea of using the swivel. As I'm mostly fishing perch/crappie there isn't alot of weight on there or the need for heavy line. Roy that is a good point on the baitcasters as well. One with a flipping switch could be pretty handy there.
  19. I was wondering what you guys think - do you think the smaller ice reels increase the likelyhood of line twists and tangles when its cold? Wondering if it would be better to consider 2000 or 2500 series reels over the smaller 100 - 500 series ice reels.
  20. The Sony TX5 is a great camera if you're not going 10ft or deeper. Super compact as well with touch screen. http://sonystyle.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=20153&catalogId=100803&langId=200&productId=8198552921666122654
  21. I use the Nordics from CT on a couple of cars I've had and they have worked very well for the price.
  22. Correct sir http://www.factsoffishing.com/blog/contests/hook-line-subway-winners/
  23. I'd look at a used Lowrance LMS-520 or 522 if you can go a smudge above $300
  24. Is Lowe boats of the same factory as well? I'm curious to the manufacturers as I have my heart set on a Lund but open to other options.
  25. The Terrova is an awesome motor. It blows the Powerdrive V2 away. If you're a bass guy you may prefer the cable-steer models (edge, maxxum, fortrex) as they are a bit quicker on the steering.
