I feel for you! It is a stupid ticket and it is going to cost you money to fight it while the cop that wrote it gets paid to show up in court. There should be some recourse where if you are found not guilty or the charges get dropped you get to recover your costs including your time at a rate of what ever the cops wages are! I am glad to hear you are fighting it though and will be watching for the results! Good cops are good people, bad cops are just jerks with a badge. Fortunatly almost every cop I have ever met was good people!

If they want more money, raise the room rate by the 3% don't try to sneek it in after the fact. Hade a problem with the Maple Leaf Motel in Goderich a few years back; rented a room for two nights, but they didn't tell us the rest of the place was rented to a motorcycle club. Nice people but they partied all night and we couldn't sleep. We had to leave after the first night but asked for a refund for the second night. Manager wouldn't give us one, then we found out they actually rented our room out to the bikers for the second night. We still never did get a refund.

If you look back over the years at what members of this family have done or donated for the benifit of others, it is astounding! It is however really nice to see that genorisity recognized!

Doing a lot of the "one day at a time" stuff too Wayne so I totally understand! Studs are installed on a set of "Ice Only" boots so the odds of this happening again are much reduced but I have to be honest I am now paranoide about walking on ice in parking lots or anywhere else.

Oh I don't have any trouble landing, that always happens! It's getting it to fly again after the landing that I have a problem with! So here is how to solve your problem; try hovering at about 1" above ground then land

I know he wouldn't go that far, just too much travel time for him and his crew and he has plenty of work right around this area because of his reputation. I don't know any of the roofers in your area but we do have some guys on the board that gave me some excellent advice when I was looking into it. If you get referances and actually go out and see the jobs they have done it will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. This is a big investment for you, make sure you know exactly what you are getting and who you are dealing with before you commit to anything.

Where are you located? If you are in the Kawarthas or general area I can hook you up with the guy that did my roof. He did an excellent job with all the "critter barriers", trim, and those things to keep the snow from sliding off the roof and on to your head. My house is about 1500 sq ft with a couple of valleys and ti cost me about $5500.00 all in. The best price I could get doing it in shingles, stripping the old stuff and everything was $4900.00. Check around your area, go and talk to others in your area that have had their roofs done in steel, call a couple of the local suppliers and ask them who has the best reputation then get them to come and give you written quotes. Do not pay any money up front, the guy I dealt with didn't ask for nor did he want a deposit. His response was "when the job is finished and you are satisified then you pay me"!

I am amazed thet there is one out moving around at this time of the year. I have a little pill you can give it called a .22. It won't come back.

And there my friend is where the problem lies in today's society. The triage nurse tells someone to go home and do whatever, there is an infection, who do you think is going to get sewed? It will be the nurse and the hospital! Gone are the days of "good intentions".

So, why would you spend $12.00 to replace what you had?

We looked at the tile roof type, about three times the price. We went with the sheets and while I understand that there are different grades we decided to go with a local installer that had an excellent reputation and the lighter grade of steel. It came with a 40 year paint warranty and the workmanship is awesome! For what is is worth, I would never go back!

While 6 people with chest pains were being treated for what might have been heart attacks/strokes/or other life threating conditions. I understand the frustration and I don't want to minimize your g/f's pain or suffering but you are hurting, it is sore, but is it life threatning? That is why I am very reluctaint to go to emergency, if I take up some Dr.s time and someone else dies how serious were my needs?

The one in Lindsay is excellent too Lew and they do work well. You get sick on a Friday and try to call your Dr. only to find out that you can't even talk to anyone until Monday to see about getting an appointment, what do you do? When I was a kid growing up the local Dr. lived right in town. Didn't matter what day of the week or what time of the day; you needed a Dr. he/she was there! Now the only alternative is to go to emergency but these clinics seem to fill the gap. I think they are a wonderful thing!

Like I said originally; for me, the cost was 8% more. No brainer as far as I am concerned!

What Sinker said! Cooler in Summer, no differance in winter! When you start to consider cost look at : cost to strip, dispose of the old ones, the cost of ice and water shield (if done properly). Replacement cost (because they will not last as long as the warranty but who keeps a warranty for 10+ years and even then it doesn't cover removal and labour, just the new shingles). Do it once, do it right, and you will come out way ahead!
