I was on bald lake, lost a stack of snow, now we have 22 inches under a crust and 3 inches of water. Later this week will be even more ice - slushy for sure today good luck getting huts of next weekend in Kawarthas as they are now in ice, never used a flame thrower before!

2013 British Columbia Sturgeon Fishing Trip Report
cowanjo replied to pairofgreenhorns's topic in General Discussion
I responded recently to a post that said there is never good fishing reports anymore on OFC. Well this one is awesome and deserves to stay up the top for a while - what a great day - honourable thing to do by passing on the first fish and you get rewarded. Great time and fish - absolutely awesome report thanks ! -
I have had so many I used to Rockhop for saltwater Fish in Australia (Google the Tubes Jarvis Bay) we used to marlin fish and cast into the wind when necessary - I see Lucas comment above - I feel I am able to beat most as I worked on so many at night or early mornings - Lucas(Leaf4) btw first time with baitcaster for musky has one issue in four or five hours and nets two fish - he is a good fisherman (Netman!). I call my son luke Backlash boy - but he is eleven now and is unbelievable casting all day I do the trick above with him let him reef a cast then pull two rod lengths out and tape his reel with tape (His goal no backlash for eight hours musky fishing) man I would not have had the patience at eleven for ten minutes of fishing but he just keeps at it. I will take photos next year for sure - great post mike P - funny and that one looks awesome. Roaring Dan - I have half your reels at my place so if you want it fixed bring it over problem is it is no doubt left handed.

Call aikman in Mississauga he will sort it

I think Mike P is right, we use this site now to create great friends and fishing links us together. Two of the guys who I fish most with were met on this site. I think it is a shame when we post reports and try to show techniques and it just sinks to the bottom. Mike Parker and Pete's posts on musky fishing should be tagged at the top. Maybe we need the mods to tag some others for a few weeks so people do get the fishing reports, sadly everyone knows which lake I am on, if they really want to fish with most of the guys don't take their spot just ask I am sure most would find a seat in the boat.
-
Dan I have already talked to tim - thinking buy on musky first then resell after two weeks - way cheaper - you don't need to buy they are in the garage and you have a key to cottage and boat - therefore you have access to all you need. Jim said I can try the new gloomis - but what if this really impacts my fishing - mike parker would hunt me down for not winning.....maybe he will never let me in his boat again and there goes my pb chance!

Need to ship 4 Legend tourney musky rods to Chicago next year as flying in not taking boat, anyone had experience and what company I should use. I will package them in a PVC tube (Courtesy of Craig Im Hooked) longest will be one piece big nasty (Thanks Dan)> I am in Toronto Any advice of who to use seems I cant take them as oversized on the plane
-
I fish with a sling blade LT - I fish with Dan all the time on extended casting sessions. You have a great reel now, and I am sure some of the guys will offer you a seat at the opener. Both LT and Loomis will have new rods out in Feb - I will be trying a couple of gloomis prototypes this year, getting them in April, an 8foot 6 and 9 foot will be interesting how far they have come. I am with Greg - I would really look for a sling blade, in the interim why not the Compre from the classifieds good back up rod later but will get you through now.
-
mike parker what a great year and not just a great fisherman but lure maker and friend. Great post look forward to you netting my PB next year!

IGFA for reference sells a $75 Tool to measure etc to allow certification - this is in my opinion a nonsense record to make money and why no one cares. Feels like we are starting to get seven different boxing and wrestling federations. Nice fish however and no one should doubt the slobs caught great job

Greatest Musky Ever - cooking steaks, Great net man taking this picture, whole family in a musky photo off my dock at cottage
-
MCI Insiders - someone have the pic of the anglers 59x34?
cowanjo replied to Steve's topic in General Discussion
I have seen the picture on Thursday night and it is a beast. I actually agree they didn't want the attention good guys and don't want any issues. It will come out later -
maybe you will bring your pirate ship from escanaba - maybe it will be warmer for you when i cover you in spray. I am sure you will no doubt get lucky throwing a double ten again in november see you tomorrow greg
-
Thanks I know the 55 and the reefs - not many spots like that in pigeon north end , not really a troller but will give it a go. Lew I assume your talking suicks, hose or phantom. I had the heater and coffee today - they really were alergic to rubber today. we will also try some jigging again out from the reefs rights on the bottom, I know craig has had some sucess with that pattern
-
Thanks guys - i was casting - never made it to noggies, taits bay - saw a couple of nice ones but will definetly take the advice with greg tomorrow. I throw a twitch bait for sure - John
-
Very strange day not another boat out there, Water temp 44.6 - getting close to freezing - saw a couple of nice musky but no takers. Will chase again tomorrow. Anyone with any thoughts PM me - north End. Found totally green cabbage which was really odd as well given water temp Anyone else out tomorrow let me know we can work together.
-
This site does not have enough just pure fish pages - thought I would just thank Greg, Craig and Tim and post ten fish each night. Hope people enjoy something that is a passion of mine.
