  1. Got the gable ends all framed up this weekend and I also got my rig to get the sheathing up on my roof about 2/3's finished. Next weekend I should be able to start sheathing the roof.
  2. Well it was a good run!! There's always next year!!!
  3. OK, this is some pretty funny stuff. Love Lanny!!! http://www2.tsn.ca/bardown/Story.aspx?Some%2Bof%2Bthe%2Bmost%2Bawesome%2BHollywood%252f%2Bhockey%2Bdoppelganger%27s%2Bever&id=555536
  4. What will they think of next? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1617668858487381
  5. Out West the price of gas has risen quite a bit as of late. They are saying it is due to the dollar being down (oil sands crude is refined in the US) and the fact one of the big Western oil sands refineries has had an unexpected shutdown for repairs. And to make things worse the crude wholesalers have not lowered their prices so the refineries are still paying high prices for crude. Also most of the wholesalers also have refineries so they are using the extra profit from the sale of crude to offset the lower crude prices. It's a load of crap as far as I'm concerned. Good article on why we are getting screwed!! http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/08/13/gas-prices-western-canada-select-oil-price_n_7983244.html
  6. Another front office hire in Leaf land. http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=776948
  7. I guess I could remove the paint and polish the prop if it performs properly on my boat. A shiny prop would be pretty!!!
  8. Could be something as simple as a bad sensor or something as big as a piston or bearing issue.
  9. Get it into your dealer ASAP and they will probably fix it under warranty since it only just expired!!!
  10. You gonna go home and put on a moovee so you can test them out?
  11. Over the years I have caught many lakers over 20#'s in Lake O. Back in the 90's when the Ganny had epic fall laker runs due to the stocking there it was not uncommon to get several over 20 in a few hours in the evening. Also have caught lots in Western Lake O but the biggest (in the mid 30's) came off Pt. Credit in August after a North blow. Having said that, compared to our Arctic Lakers they fight like wet socks!!!
  12. Was on my local trader site earlier today and came across a prop that should work well on my rig. Brand new Mercury High Five stainless prop (painted finish). 12 3/4" 20P for 75-125HP outboards. It's going to need a paint job. can't be having a blue prop on my nice black engine. Oh yeah, the price? $140!!!!
  13. You mean like this 42#er?
  14. Man that sucks!!! It's one of the things I worry about when I have my pooch out at the lake. There are plenty of wolves and bears in the area. My neighbour told me he saw a dozen on the ice there this past winter. Every time he goes off exploring I worry. Usually he just walks up to the neighbours cabin 300 yards away but he has gone close to a mile around the bay before.
  15. Yep, deeper lake equals smoother chop.
  16. Got the rest of the rafters up!!! Now that my vacation has come to an end here are the totals. Lost 43#'s and gained a cabin!!!!!
  17. Freeze up is in mid October. Need to be done by the end of September so I can catch the epic laker and pike bite that happens in October. Not needed or required Ironmaker.
  18. Yeah if you're not converting to CD I would get a real turntable. While there are serious audiophile units out there these units are lest money and bulletproof. They sound good too. Every club I ever worked in had a pair. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/technics-sl-1200mk2
  19. 1/2 way there!!!! Will raise a few more after dinner.
  20. That's all I would need, a film crew slowing me down to a crawl!!!
  21. Hopefully the rafters will all be up before I head home on Sunday. Back to work on Monday. Got 4 more rafters up after dinner.
  22. Got my 4 gable rafters up and in position. Took longer than expected as I had to work to get my master rafter fitting properly. Lots of up and down the scaffolding with a 16' 2X10 testing and marking..................... The good news is the rafters all fit perfectly. Time for dinner and then see how many I can get done after dinner.
  23. Give me 1/2 and I'm in!!!
  24. Only my mutt is here and he's no help really. Except he lets me know when Yogi is in the hood!!! Cleaned up all my construction debris and whipped up a set of temporary stairs for gettin' in and out of the crib!!! No more climbing the ladder to get in and out.
  25. Vacation is over this weekend so you'll have to wait between posts, come Monday I'm back @ work relaxing!!!!
