  1. OK, never mind, problem solved. Give a stuborn old man a barn jack and a come-along, a beautiful bright afternoon with no wind and a cold beer. The marine railway is now back where is should be and all hooked up and the first section of dock is in so all is good.

Many thanks to CPH who offered to come and help me even though he had plans to go fishing, that's a true friend!

Yep, I do the same at my cabin.

Got a farm jack and a come a long.

No problem getting my dock in and out. :)

Only another 6 or 8 weeks until the ice is gone and I can drop mine in. :whistling:

  2. Beads?

What size beads and hooks are you guys using that your hooking % sucks?

My bead hookup rate is North of 90% and maybe even 95%.

I run larger hooks with beads and I run beads from 6mm to 16mm depending on conditions and what fish I'm after.

  3. I would save all my data and programs etc and reinstall your old system. Then use never10 to make sure it won't happen.

Then again MS could again make registry changes through updates without us knowing. They sure seem insistent on everyone using Win10. Folks with vista and earlier are ok though.

    Cheers

You can roll back to your previous OS if it was installed less than one month ago.

Going back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1

    Applies to Windows 10

    • If it’s been less than a month since you upgraded to Windows 10, you can go back to your previous version of Windows by going to Settings > Update & security > Recovery and selecting either Go back to Windows 7 or Go back to Windows 8.1. This won't affect your personal files, but it will remove any apps you installed after the upgrade to Windows 10. Learn more.

    • If it’s been more than a month, this option won’t be available in Settings and you’ll need to use a different recovery option.

  4. I have one that's practically brand new that I'm looking to sell. How do the measurements work. Not really sure how to advertise the specs

Width is usually adjustable ie 74"-82" (gunnel to gunnel)

Height is from the mounts to the top when up ie 54"

There are 3 bow and 4 bow tops (3 or 4 cross braces)

3 bow are shorter in length than 4 bow units (6' as opposed to 8')

  5. Naz and Rielly have been locked up for the next 6 years. :)

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday that the team has signed defenceman Morgan Rielly and forward Nazem Kadri to new six-year contracts.

Rielly, 22, led all Maple Leafs defencemen with a career-high 36 points (nine goals, 27 assists) while skating in all 82 games this year. The native of Vancouver, British Columbia also led the team with 23:13 of average ice time per game. Since entering the league in 2013-14, the fifth overall selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft has collected 92 points (19 goals, 73 assists) in 236 regular season games. Rielly was named to Team Canada’s roster for the 2016 IIHF World Championship earlier this week.

Kadri, 25, led the Maple Leafs with 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists) in 76 games this season. In parts of seven NHL seasons, the London, Ontario native has registered 197 points (81 goals, 116 assists) and 207 penalty minutes in 326 regular season games. Kadri was originally selected by the Maple Leafs with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

  6. This is what you want for auto work: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/maximum-nb-impact-wrench-0542099p.html#.Vwwf9_krJhE

Be advised they still aren't as powerful as a good air powered impact gun.

Now, to compare to your posted unit (I have assembled my cabin with one similar).

It is the best thing since sliced bread for driving screws and tightening up lag bolts etc.

This unit that is on sale at CT right now is what I have. I also have a couple of spare drills that I purchased when they were on sale. They were only $20 more than the cost of a battery alone and thus more cost effective since you get a spare drill and spare charger.

I actually have 3 drills, 1 impact gun with 4 batteries and chargers that only cost me about $300

  7. When you're pulling spoons (down rigging) on a dead quite day and there isn't a cloud in the shy; you'd wish you had something giving you some shade.

On my buddies (RIP) 22 foot starcraft tin boat; I wired in a couple of removable fans. Fans like you'd see on the school buses. The combination of the bimini and the fans; we were good, not matter how hot it got out on Long Point Bay.

    Dan.

It helps keep the snow off ya in the early and late season too.

Not to mention when it decides to rain cats & dogs.

  8. You can save a ton by buying one through Basspro or Cabelas and installing it yourself.

I got mine from Cabelas on sale for about $300 with a set of rails so I can slide it forward when in use and back when not in use.

That way it lays just in front of the motor instad of in the middles of my rear casting deck.

  9. So are we saying that the high end glasses are better for your eyes?

If a $20 pair says 100% UVA and UVB protection, how can an expensive pair be better for your eyes.

With the amount of time we spend on the water, getting sun from above and reflected from below,

Who wouldn't want the best protection available.

    Need to know.

The optical quality of the lens is much better in a high end pair than a cheap pair.

Less eye strain is the biggest plus health wise while the much sharper lens and better optics allow you to see much better into the water.

When I put on a cheap pair of shades the image I see is fuzzy and out of focus compared to good quality optics.

I actually get headaches when wearing inferior glasses.

Same was true for me with safety glasses for work.

I couldn't use the bulk, cheapies at work and had to purchase higher quality ones in order to be able to do my job without eye strain and headaches.
