  1. I love it when a plan comes together ok there wasn't a plan but it did work out and you now have a good story to tell
  2. yup been there...done that..and I do feel your pain.....sorry to here about the sun burn my problem was years of working outside without sun glasses then after work going fishing without sun glasses and weekends too...at 35 I had cataracts in both my eyes... learnt the hard way to wear sunglasses
  3. looks like a great trip thanks for sharing
  4. well I seem to receive lots of emails about making the shaft longer but you are the first to add a piece to make it longer nice job Wayne.
  5. aluminum and electricity really don't like each other...it can cause corrosion on lose joints and rivets problems where the copper wire meets the aluminum to make the boat a ground or other types of metal and if any positive wire falls off it almost has to hit the boat causing a short or a meltdown
  6. when you said you found a good ground do you mean a good ground wire or do you have an aluminum boat and using the boat as a ground? which I feel is a bad thing to do and could be your problem..i
  7. great report always a better day on the water, then working too bad Paul has a problem getting inches for the team, I hear there are pills for that problem......LOL.. .sorry it seemed funny at the time
  8. sounds like a good weekend and a nice warm up for the bass tourney season..........nicely done
  9. they are nice to have and if you don't have power trim, even more important to have one... you do lose a little top end if you have power trim...sometimes if you don't have power trim you can gain a bit on the top end.... but first I would be looking at what is making it lean to one side....is the motor perfectly strain up and down, lining up with the centre of the boat, maybe you need to move the trim tab a bit to compensate for the rotation of the prop..something is making it lean to one side and I would try to fix that first....IMHO
  10. these days the only real reason to get an external antenna is because it's mounted somewhere that's blocking direct sight of the Sats. (windshield frame, top on the boat or fly bridge above you) and or if another piece of electronic is close and is affecting it otherwise the internal antenna is fine
  11. the thing is.. it's all a self imposed calendar on when you can and can't go fishing, sure there are forces trying to get you to do this or that but when push come to shove ..it's your decision in the end so it's all on how/where you set your priorities ....self happiness is important and if you feel you need more me time...take it...you only live once and you don't take care of number one no one else will....
  12. sounds like a great trip and lake to fish hiway 144 and 560 is about 458 km from Orillia 100 more km and you are there......so it's not that far from the area I like to fish
  13. I remember when we all hung around that website...ontariofishing.net now we are at ofncommunity.com....ah the good old days
  14. well my GPS has a compass, so I'm good to go......
  15. only I have read Power-driven pleasure craft greater than 8 m (26’3”) in length require a properly adjusted compass. If the voyage is more than 20 nautical miles (37 km) from shore a compass bearing device is required.
  16. good luck win lots of money oh and have fun
  17. LOL,you are right it does....... ok I didn't notice but when anchored fish on the screen look a lot different form a long line across the screen to bumps on the bottom or a can show as an uneven bottom changing all the time
  18. yup, that's the way all of Georgina is coming.... here stick this in your window
  19. I will bet you were trolling Roy fish show totally different when anchored
  20. well, love the pictures of the fish...sounds like fun catching them to bad about the place you stayed at but I really like it when people tell it like it is rather then sugar coating the facts...... thanks for the report now if I could only find out the true facts about anglers kingdom.......
  21. interesting so I got my gps track points to see which was right...looks like GPSquecbec is closer to what is right the road was moved and paved about 6 years ago topo canada has yet to update it
  22. a really good sonar will show fish on bottom, it will look like a bump or rock like so many rocks you see on bottom but a good sonar will have a shaded area or grey line between the bump and the bottom that's a fish sitting there
  23. yeah, I put a lot of time and effort into this board but I still can't corrupt it into a nasty back stabbing, mud sling, cesspool, free for all type of place I will keep working at it.....LOL
  24. I never really found fish on the sonar in under 30ft of water till I bought the X15 I can see fish tight to bottom in 9ft of water....you need to know how to set them up and you need to pay for top of the line units
  25. cool, never heard of them till now
