I discontnued WFN over a year back. Kept falling asleep in the middle of shows. No appeal to me at all any more. My toe jam and ear wax collection is more interesting.

Broke my jaw when I was a kid.
Didn't have to have it wired shut either.
Broke one tooth which needed a cap so not nearly as bad as spitting chicklets all over the ice.
Was out and being a kid again in two or 3 weeks.
Played goal before masks were mandatory. Used to think Plante was a pussy for wearing a mask.
Got me a concussion and a few stitches for my efforts. Butt end of a stick in the teeth. You shook it off and were back on the ice next week, albeit the parents made sure I had a mask after those mishaps.
A broken jaw is going to take more than a week to get over, even if it wasn't wired

I'm at the Hamilton meet the same day.

When the turtles come out en masse to suntan themselves.
Must have been 60 or more perched on a few logs. Mostly painteds and maps.

Golden shiner and spottails by the thousand running in Niagara creeks.

Got another free day without clinics, appts and errands. Straight out the door first thing to hit a fishin hole. All sorts of pannies getting active. Even a carp paid me a surprise visit. Silly me, forgot to take a pic with all the excitement of landing the thing on an ultralite.
A nice mix of crappie.
White
and Black
and enough for a feed when the kids come home tomorrow.

I don't know Cliff?. Some people just don't know how to put down the shovel and stop digging.
I do know you enjoy everything you turn your hand to
-
Twocoda, if you have the opportunity to try your hand at it, don't let it slip by. I experienced the sugar bush as a kid, and was ever so glad to take the time to make that experience possible for my kids and many of their friends for a few years.

Galvanized have been fine for decades, but the bureaucrats are pushing for stainless only in food processing
-
Too many risky mistakes by Gardiner. Reimer is doing great, but he can't keep making up for the defence.
-
The bureaucrats are just warming up.

As long as the workforce keeps shrinking, and producing jobs keep leaving the country, those who remain are going to be hit, over and over, by governments desperate to find new means of making up the shortfall. Higher taxes, new taxes, more taxes
-
Can depend on water clarity or colour. A white jig in chocolate milk don't stand out too well. Also depends on the target. I've found pike will hit just about anything

At least down in Niagara. 2 days of hunting for open water and co-operative fish paid off today. It was also a good opportuntiy for giving some micro bucktails a good workout.
Also a good time for the dogs to get out and socialize with strangers and strange dogs and be in the open around water. Morning sun warmed up a calm morning, sped up the thaw, and the pannies came out to play.
Not too bad a day.
We also have 2 very tired puppy dogs

bigugly only town where you can come and park free for the day. not spend a single dime in the town and leave garbage in the can or where ever you want . both towns are not unfriendly to fishermen...only slob fishermen....and just maybe if you feel they are unfriendly to you maybe you are the latter of the two types we want in our town
Don't much care for any municipality that tries to restrict angling within it's borders. In NOTL it was the municipal angling licence permitting only residents to fish from municipal parks.
After reading the crap Ron went through trying to fish a municipal harbour, going to court, etc.., obviously not a class act, despite the township's charm.
They discriminate their way, I discriminate with my dollars
In case you didn't read the full comment, I stopped fishing the Gannie because it was such a circus. Same with the zoo that the Credit was with fellas in waders flicking roe bags on trebles at every passing fish. And I have never harvested roe
-
I have not gone near the Gannie since the early 80's. Know full well what you are saying, Brian. Standing elbow to elbow in spring or fall, for the slaughter , was not my idea of fun.
Since Port Hope and Cobourg started being angler unfriendly, I treat them the same as NOTL. I refuse to drop a single dime in such towns.

We used to feed leftover bread and toast from the Haida's galley to the monsters in Ontario Place back in the early 70's. No doubt there are a lot of 50lb fish in there.

The record bounces back and forth between 5 or 6 European fish in what are anything but wild circumstance in private lakes/swims, and are fed and fattened like any other livestock. These pigs are known by name. This one is Mary. Other past record holders are Eric and Scar.

Laffs didn't do too bad tonight, but they are still a 2 period team.

Sound environmental sense cannot stand against the demands of residential ratepayers. You should hear the whining down here that we get whenever the wind carries the heady aroma of fresh spread fertilizer into the subdivisions
Have they forgotten that salmon die after the spawn and there dead carcasses feed the rivers

I have participated in more stream and park cleanups than I could ever hope to remember. I still pick up trash whenever it's reasonable to do so. Gotten into more nasty fights with govt when they have chosen to turn a blind eye or sit on their
, ie 15 Mile creek as a recent example. I also promote and partake in angler outreach programs.

.......complete waste of time as the moeny it will take to administer this will far out weigh the money generated from licenses! Heck, staff resources to write the policy will put this plan deep in the hole to before it even gets of the ground!
I think there is a typo, I fixed it.
NOTL went that route a few years back.

How bad a son could you possibly have been for your own mother not to share a pancake recipe with you?
Mother's just jealous because I got taught the bread recipes and she didn't
-
My mother makes the best Finnish pancakes and she has yet to share my Gram's recipe with me.
Ready to go fishing!

I like leaving the layers of scale and slime on the handle. Rod sticks to the hand better, and it gives it character.
I've already respooled 2 ultralites and they are getting a workout.
