I once hit someone in the face with a sucker. There is nothing more insulting than being slapped with a coarse fish.
Like this???

There is always a rod or two in the van along with tackle, nets , bucket, chair, coleman, raincoat, spare clothes, etc.... Never know where I end up at the drop of a hat.
-
Only once, in all my years of fishing, have I had a rod bust because of a fish ( It pretty much exploded) I still have the first glass rod I ever owned, and bring it out to play once or twice a year. I have broken a few rod tips from carelessness

Dry kibble as a base, supplemented with veggies, fresh caught FISH, and small amounts of meat, cooked and raw. Stay away from any breadstuffs. Don't underestimate the importance of exercise and activity. Lucky lived to be 17. Casey is now 18 months. He has a good solid 3-5 hours of activity every day

Tween the son and I, we have over a dozen. Have not had the misfortune of buying a defective reel, yet.
Would seem that something is missing

So far so good. Judy's in good spirits after the operation. Now we wait on the pathologist.

ATTITUDE Bruce.. it's all I can tell you, other than there's lots of places in Hospitals to go hide and have a good cry!
Good luck!
I have ever refused to see cancer as some unbeatable evil. It's just another obstacle to overcome. As for Judy, I don't think she is that strong right now. I won't tell her about Jen til later.
-
I was hoping you would be posting more of Jen's exploits. Sorry to hear Ewings came back hard at Jen like that. Auntie Ruth fought the brain tumours, tooth and nail, for 8 years.

Tomorrow is surgery day. I guess we are as ready as we can be. I hope this goes well for the Mrs. She's had enough illness the past few years.

I sometimes envy you fellas. I didn't have a dad, but I had uncles who more than made up for it.
I just hope my son has lots of fond memories of me as years go by.

Feelin a little nostalgic for some Saturday night cloggin music.

I had a rebuild at 225000, and the torque convertor was finally recalled just this spring
have you had any serious tranny problems with them...that seems to be the main concern and if so at what about what mileage? thanks
-
Mine has had 2 recalls, starting to see serious rust on bottom panels.
Ignition module is a pain. Very moisture sensitive. I've replaced 3.
The 04 does have 350,000 on it.

Odd name, I'm just curious as to what their colours are going to be

On a serious note, logo/mascot??

From shore you say? At the mouths of the creeks/rivers?
Sometimes creek mouths, and up larger streams for spawn. Often get them at the base of the Dunnville dam, but we may be late for that now.
Sometimes off the piers while the minnows are running inshore.

White Bass and White Perch are a couple of my bucketlist fish. Without a boat to hit lake ontario with... I'm probably outta luck.
Always had little problem hitting them from shore in springtime

Can't believe you left Lunenberg off the list of stops.
One local fave is the lobster roll. Kinda like a lobster salad sandwich. Before the big highways were built, you travelled along the coastal highway, any time you can follow that route do so. Back then the old route was dotted with little roadside canteens, and those were the best places to get fresh lobster. Sadly, most are gone now.

Heck, you'd need at least 2 weeks to see a good part of Nova Scotia. As for seafood, it is offered everywhere, just stay away from the tourist trap restaurants.
I've not been down since 2000, but these few stops serve up good food. Of course, you just need to ask a local where's they'd be going to.
Halifax
Five Fisherman
Red Stag
Lunenberg
Savvy Sailor
Dartmouth
John's Lunch for scallops and chips

The Mrs had her first session at Well Springs. A Niagara support centre for cancer patients. Very helpful, informative and supportive people

This would almost be gospel in Nova Scotia, cept down there it's trout, Atlantics and stripers.
