  1. Quite right. We always seem to run into a few friends down in Niagara. Especially great when they bring their young ones fishing
  2. Winter is finally gone, so now all the sheep need shearing. My beard's trimmed down, the son is now clean shaven, and Casey will get his shearing in the next week or so.
  3. Only the best driftwood mother Nature provides is good enough.
  4. We decided to attack the welland R today in the hunt for crappie. Not an overly busy day, but definitely caught some quality. Seems Rob got "owned" by the "old man" Oh yeah, the puppies are just loving the fishing routine
  5. A little 80's techno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2aKezCqvDc great grinding music and this fun clip. Remember Max Headroom? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEPq0FvFm3g&list=RD02a2aKezCqvDc
  6. THEY DO HAVE THE LONGEST STANLEY CUP DROUGHT!!!
  7. Somebody might get himself labelled a "sympathizer"
  8. Wiki is not very reliable as a source. In fact any shmuck can write for them with little verification and a lot of innacuracy. History of Lord Stanley's cup has its beginnings generally accepted as around 1892, and the cup's history is not the NHL's history. The first 9 Stanleys were won by Montreal teams. You can be certain that Toronto counts the wins made by the Blueshirts and Arenas in their totals as well. These titles are attributed to the Ottawa Senators- 1903, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1909, 1911, 1920, 1921.1923, 1927 Also interesting is that Kenora once won a Stanley Cup, as did Victoria and Seattle.
  9. hate to be a killjoy but Ottawa has 10 Stanley cup championships to their credit. Admittedly the last one was in 1927...
  10. I'm sure the RCMP is not going to give out all the facts. It it was a cross border train from Toronto, it would be the daily Amtrak to New York. Again, an American target.
  11. Was such a beauty afternoon. I was not going to waste the evening sitting indoors. Off Casey and I went to a nice little spot. With the full moon coming on, the crappie were hungry. A couple of samples They were in real shallow. Less than 2' of water for the most part.
  12. No real dangers since the days of the FLQ. After that mess the RCMP was crucified in the "dirty tricks" scandal for getting their hands dirty trying to keep Canadians safe
  13. It has always been a risk with the Gull R. Most of the homes there were built long before we had 50 year and 100 year flood plans.
  14. If Robert gets a cat in spring time, I can guarantee it's coming home for dinner. Especially if its Dad's "turn" to clean fish (it's almost always Dad's "turn")
  15. You would be paying mileage on 2200km each way Niagara to Orlando, plus the weekly fees. and fuel costs. It starts adding up in a hurry.
  16. Decided to change things up and get me some perchies from the mighty Niagara. We managed to get a few small carp. And we managed to find some quality fish despite the slow bite. Just had to be patient.
  17. A lot of tree crews I worked with used to use good old used motor oil as bar oil. I did the same for many years. With today's saws I would not try it. As already mentioned, viscosity is a big part of it. Also, the newer saw is a much more precise piece of machinery, having higher running temperatures. Dirt and debris from the old oil plays havock with the drive sprocket over time let alone increased wear on the bar and chain.
  18. Saw so many OFCer's I lost count. Was great to see you all, just the same. Thank you for coming out and patronizing. I think the swap and sale was a big success. Casey was so tuckered out he was horizontal before anyone else in the clan.
  19. Just think of how much this helps the lake levels
  20. Hope to see lots of OFC friends today. I know a few members have tables there. Stop by and say Hi! 1095 Fennel at the bowling alley.
  21. They need him alive. Interrogation is not for pleasure . It's for gathering information. These people have declared war on the place they live in. Authorities need to establish a lot of details. They get nothing if the bomber is dead.
  22. Not before thorough and effective interrogation, I hope.
