  3. i liked the drag better on the Patriarch vs the Ci4 and it is lighter than the ci4, Patriarch comes with a spare spool if that matters to you Ci4 does not. I think the reel is to new to give a quality review on its durability but i'm yet to hear anythng bad about them . I own Ci4's though lol tough to beat a shimano
  4. i would mount it in the canoe and shoot in through the Fibreglass .....

  9. I'm helping a friend do a little TLC on his boat and we found a couple loose rivets in the boat , now without pulling up the floor and putting in new solid rivets , what would be the best solution to replacing these loose rivets my though was to drill out the loose rivet and replace them with sealed blind rivets but i'm not sure if these are strong enough for the job If anyone has experience with this or a better way to fix this problem i'd love to hear it thanks for any help you can give Jeff

  15. Sunday morning Dad and i Loaded up the boat and headed out to Lake erie for some perch having been out the a couple weeks Prior i decided I was going to run the plastic baits for a bit to make things a little more interesting for me , so i rigged up a drop shot rig and an xzone shiver shad and went to work , didnt take us long till we found a decent school for big perch and worked them for about an hour . Then just like that they were off the graph and the bite died so we got on the electric and motored around and found them again ! this happened a couple times in the 4 hours we were out there ! Fish seemed to be on the outside of the crowds i could hear people talking they were having a hard time catching but in a pack of 30 boats banging and clanging around its not hard to figure out why ....... anyhow i took a couple pics when we got home I didnt have time to take any on the water except for one . Get out there if you can lots of fish around Contact the local shop and they can point you in the right direction on what where and how
  16. would make for cheap backing on a centerpin or fly reel...... its the same diameter as power pro in the same pound test , but as you likely know " YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" good luck
  17. that rod should be an over the counter exchange , calls petes and explain , ( if it were me i'd leave out the " it broke on a snag portion " just say you broke it " Fishing" and ask them what your options are ) http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Shimano_Cumulus_Spinning_Rods/descpage-SCLS.html
  18. For me I do a lot of buying online , be it Ebay , Kijiji or fishing forums like these `and when a good Deal comes up on Something i think i want i buy it . Sometimes its a combo i want buy but only want the Reel or the other way around , so i buy the combo and sell the reel or rod off and get myself an even beter deal on the item i want to keep I'll give you an example Last week i was on Kijiji Looking at gear and i came across a combo for sale it was a Shimano Ci4 2500 spinning reel on a fenwick HMX rod i had no itentions of using the fenwick but i knew what it was worth and figured i could sell it i bought the Combo for $170 sold the rod for $60 . So someone got a 6 month old fenwick for $30 under retail and still under warranty and i got a like new Ci4 reel for $110 win win for both of us Also I see things i may like for myself so i buy them because they are a good deal just to try them, because i know i can get my money back out of them by just putting it back up for sale , I never make any Money selling the items i buy and resell , its more so i can just get it and hold it first hand , a lot of shops around here dont carry a lot of high end model rods and if they do you cant sit there for an hour making sure you like it , I'm also the guy that tackle shops dont like to see cause i never buy new rods or reels from a store they always come from an online selling site be it ebay or whatever . Try it find a model of rod you like in a store just pick one , say a G loomis NRX look at the retail price in the store it'll be around $475 plus taxes and your travel time but i bet you if i look online you can find that rod for $350 no tax have it shipped to your door then if you dont like it you can post it back for sale again and someone else gets the deal and then you know for sure you dont like it or it wont suit your style and type of fishing its kinda helps pass time for me too some people drink some people buy lots of clothes I buy lots of tackle
  19. OUCH !!!! that poor rod , you'll be in trouble now , new rod no MOJO .... uh oh better ship it back i'll use it for a couple weeks again or send it to SOLO i cant keep trout off the rod i bought from him
