  1. Nice duck shots! Never seen a carp caught while its snowing - you're a hardcore carp addict! I had given up catching a fish from the GTA now the cold weather is upon us - but maybe I should head down your way for some carp after all! Is that where I think it is? I won't say a thing. 007
  2. Nice muskies Joey! Congrats. 007
  3. Congrats on the big walleyes - looks like you had a great day on the water - very envious! 007
  4. Good job guys - congrats on all those big fish. Nice to see what lures you were using too - I got some of those but never had the chance to use them. Were the baitfish and walleye suspended or near bottom? 007
  5. Ha Ha - funny report Cliff. Too bad you didn't catch anything though. Hope you have better luck on your next fishing trip. 007
  6. Wow. You hooked into some beauties there. Thanks for sharing. 007
  7. Well done guys. Just when I thought I should put the rods away you go and show me some GTA pike porn. I need to get out and cast some lures before the snow now! 007
  8. Those are some huge Drum - Congratulations. What lures do you use to catch those things and can they be caught from shore? I guess the water has to be deep? I wouldn't mind trying for some of those along Lake O shore in GTA if possible, they sound like fun to catch. 007
  9. Thanks guys. I'm not convinced its a fallfish though - the colouration and fins don't seem to be right. Badgershark - the mouth was soft. The band of blue colour down its side was very vibrant. Any other suggestions welcome. 007
  10. There was a similar post to this in the summer. I had a similar issue, someone recommended to me a pair of Adidas sports sunglasses which have clip-on prescriptions. They looked pretty good but I never got round to getting a pair! Hard to find in the shops.
  11. Hey all, I was just looking through my photos from fishing trips this year and I found these of some type of fish that I caught in Mazinaw Lake, Bon Echo Provincial Park on the Thanksgiving weekend. Bearing in the mind that I have caught my fair share of small fish this year I thought I knew what they all were but this was a new one for even me! It's not a common shiner, golden shiner or a creek chub as I've caught those before - what is it? Is it an Emerald Shiner? There were lots of them hanging around a fallen tree - many of them were bigger than the perch I caught in there! Thanks for reading - hopefully one of you will be able to identify it for me and then I can add it my list of species caught! At least it's a fishing related post! Cheers 007
  12. Congratulations on the PB Walleye. 007
  13. Wow. Great report and Congratulations on some huge fish. 007
  14. MTP - Flight is booked for mid December. One-way ticket unfortunately - I'm moving back home for work and family reasons. No plans on being back next year, though I will get a lot more vacation time so who knows I might get back someday for a bass fishin' holiday! 007
  15. Hi all, With the leaves falling from the trees, the northern waterfowl arriving on Lake O and the cold wind blowing in to the big city I knew it was time to try fishing the Toronto Islands one last time this weekend. I actually went last weekend too but didn't get chance to post a report. Here's how I did on both trips... Last weekend... Went out on the Saturday for a few hours to see if I could hook into some late season bass or a nice pike. The weeds have died right back and few fish were to be seen cruising the shorelines or docks. The weather wasn't great either so I wasn't too optimistic until I got to one of my favourite spots and saw a few dark bass-like shapes hanging around some structure. It wasn't long before I managed to get a bite but somehow didn't get a good hookset and the fish was lost. I tried again, hoping that I hadn't spooked the fish. Five mins later I have a second bite, I strike but manage to pull the bait right out of the bass' mouth. I tried again and bang third time lucky I managed to bring in a nice 2.5lb largemouth. Not quite the big bass I was looking for but not bad for this time of year. I then tried casting lures for pike but didn't get any follows or hits, so called it a day. This weekend... Headed out to the Islands for a few hours Saturday afternoon. My wife decided to come with me for the walk and the fresh air - it was nice to have the company out there but I knew it would mean a short time fishing - she has no patience! We started out fishing an area I knew often held 'panfish' late in the year. The aim was to avoid the dreaded skunk. It was great fun fishing with a float and worm and seeing the float go under every few minutes. Caught about half a dozen pumpkinseed sunfish and a tiny largemouth bass before moving on. The bass had great patterns on it but was somewhat smaller than the hawgs I have been catching recently on float and worm tactics at the islands - could this really be my last bass ever?! Not quite the end to my Canadian fishing experience I had hoped for - perhaps this means I will have to get out and try one more time to catch the 'big one' before I go back to England. I moved on to my favourite bass spot but there were no fish to be found. Even fishing deep water for pike with xraps failed, so it was time to go and make the long walk back to the Wards Island ferry. As I went I took a few parting shots of the islands for you all to enjoy. Hopefully I will get one more fishing trip in this year to share with you all. Cheers 007
  16. That's gotta be the one of the weirdest starts to one of your reports yet?! Looks like you're still getting some good GTA pike action. I've not had any luck with the pike recently. Is there still a good chance of catching one in November along the lakefront before I leave these shores? If you want a fishing companion in the next few weeks let me know! 007
  17. Great Report and congrats on the PB. Looks like a great day with lots of big fish. Why is it people don't like catching Drum (sheepshead)? From all accounts they are a sizeable fish and put up a good fight - surely everything a catch and release fisherman could ask for?
  18. You certainly went above and beyond the call of duty to clear all that garbage up. Nice fish and chance encounter with that buck too! An all round productive day, though I wish you could have fished more and spent less time clearing up after others. What's wrong with these people - it's a pretty simple thing to take everything you brought with you back home!
  19. Congratulations on a great year. You really did catch some big fish. 007
  20. My current boat's a Coleman Colussus! Engine = man power But Q's going to fix me up with some torpedos, rocket launchers and some other gadget's for Mr Bond's future missions!!!! The name's Bond.... James Bond! Have a good evening folks. 007
  21. You can get CDs (DVDs - not sure?) that are re-recordable - ie you can keep adding stuff until the limit is reached - but they cost more.
