  1. I store mine on my lap top's hard drive and periodically back them up on CDs and a portable harddrive. Some day I'll sort through them to reduce the space taken up by keeping just the good shots! 007
  2. Wow. Great report. Very jealous. Looks like a memorable day. 007
  3. MJL - I must say that when I first saw the pic I immediately thought that it wasn't a carp either. Something 'fishy' about the dorsal fin and mouth. Looked in the books I've got and sure enough I've got to agree that it looks like it could be a Smallmouth Buffalo. The book says they average 2-10lbs but the rod and line record is 82lbs!!!!! GCD - either way great catch and nice big surprise! What are you gonna catch next from that there deep honey hole of yours?! 007
  4. Good job addict.... I mean dsn. Those are some great pictures - what camera have you got? Fishindevil's right if you spent less time taking action shots you might land more fish! But then again unhooking snot rockets is never fun so probably easier to let them unhook themselves LOL Also we get to benefit from some nice photography. It's quite strange, I haven't seen any pike while i've been fishing T.O this fall. Must try and catch one before times up or you and SNAG have shown them all the different types of lure!!! Keep up the good work. 007
  5. Sounds like the steelhead fishing is hotting up. Maybe I should give the trib fishing thing a try - problem is I don't like fishing with the crowds. Looking forward to seeing the pics. Thanks for posting the report. 007
  6. Nice rainbow! Keep those reports coming. 007
  7. Great catch of walleyes there. Congratulations. 007
  8. Those look like river carp to me - definitely skinnier than their lake dwelling brothers and sisters. Nice catch though for a couple of hours at this time of year. Good job Marko! 007
  9. Beautiful fish + nice pic = great post! Thanks for sharing. 007
  10. That's a real beauty of a carp you got there fatherof3!! A nice way to spend part of a nice day, down by the river catchin fish! 007
  11. That's a funny looking carp dsn! Have you given up on the bottom dwellers? Nice pike mate! Glad he gave you a good fight - its better that those toothy critters get it out of their system in the water rather than when you're unhooking them in my experience! What type of lure did you get him on fishing addict? 007
  12. Nice carp Rich. It's amazing that you can get carp of that size from a creek. Those river carp sure are long and thin compared with the fat heavyweights from Lake O. Good job - good luck in the search for that twenty! 007
  13. That's funny. Check out the other john west adverts below it too. I love the old one where the bear fights the fisherman with karate moves but the fisherman gets the better of the bear by kicking it in the unmentionables!
  14. Barnie - unfortunately there is NO service to Hanlans at weekends (only weekdays) when they are operating the winter schedule. Trust me I wouldn't choose to walk 4-5kms from Wards to some fishing spots if there was a ferry that would get me within a five minute walk! Eventhough I need the exercise I've caught largemouth bass at the islands quite late in October but never in November (hopefully this year will be different). By November there are very few places within casting distance of shore that they can find cover to hide and ambush prey as the weeds have all gone. That said there are usually a few pike cruising around in November. 007
  15. Nice steelies mate. They're such a beautiful looking fish - the more pictures the better in my opinion - I enjoy seeing fish like that from all angles! Good job 007
  16. Congratulations on the PB Cliff - she's a 'beauty'. Looking forward to your first Steelhead report of the year. 007
  17. Thanks for the comments guys. Went with the snowy approach in photoshop as a bit of a laugh really. It felt cold enough that day for snow! I hear you Jigger, I didn't want to photoshop the whole thing as I know how that annoys people. Fortunately, though there are some many willows on the islands in completely different places, and all of them can have the CN Tower behind them from a certain angle! It's a big tower you know - it has a habit of getting in shots taken in so many different locations. 007
  18. Thanks mate. Right back at you TBayboy! How do you get your avatar to have revolving images? Those bass will go hungry without me feeding them worms each week! LOL I would say you've had an even better year than me - the only thing you don't seem to have caught this year is a carp, if I'm not mistaken? You (plus Cliff, Rich and a few others) seem to be the most versatile all-round anglers on the board. Will be sure to keep tabs on you guys and your reports from across the pond!
  19. Hey folks. Quick report from last weekend. A friend of mine and I had planned to rent a boat on Scugog or Simcoe but seeing as the forecast was wet and windy we decided to head down to my local spot - the Toronto Islands. Completely forgot that the islands ferry is now on a Winter timetable!! This means there are only ferries to Wards Island - which means a very long walk to some of my favourite spots on Centre Island and Hanlans. Anyhow - considering the weather the fishing was not that bad but certainly not easy. As is typical down at the islands at this time of year, it was a bit slow and spots were a bit hit and miss - we had to work hard for bites. That said we managed to catch some decent perch and a few small bass. Tried fishing for pike for a while with deep diving xraps and spinnerbaits but had no follows or hits. However the lures did draw the attention of some big bass, which my friend and picked off with my favourite float and worm combo! We managed about 4 or 5 largemouth bass between 2-4+lbs. The best fish went 4lbs 2oz on the scales and 19in in length - my fourth 4lb+ bass in as many weeks. Still waiting for that 5lber but time is running out. Normally I wouldn't photoshop the backgrounds of my photos as it detracts from a nice image but seeing as I only have a few weeks left of fishing some of my favourite spots before I leave Canada for home I am keeping the exact locations to myself for now. Sorry. Here's the pics... 007
  20. Good job Snagman! You certainly know how to find those toothy critters. Haven't managed to hook a single one at the Islands this fall - guess they are all in your spot! But then I've been busy catching some monster bass instead Looking forward to the next report. 007
  21. Some great looking smallies. Congrats! One question - how far south in Lake Simcoe (roughly) can you catch decent smallies like that? I'm guessing renting a boat from the south end (Cooks Bay/Barrie) means a long boat ride? (I guess that's two questions! LOL 007
  22. Wow, those smallmouth have amazing markings! Is it a new sub-species - a leopard bass!
