That's it, I can't take it anymore! Next time you go out fishing I'm going with you! It's been weeks now since I last caught something. (and it was an 11" pike)
I myself will continue fishing the grand, eating the ocassional bass that I ENJOY and i'm sure I will be just fine! But seeing as how it is so dirty PLEASE stay away from the water. That way I will have even better luck this year!
I can't believe some of these responses. As I said earlier I wouldn't take my truck out on the ice BUT that is because it is rarely done down here and I havn't done it (don't know enough about it). Places up north depend on those ice roads. I would probably feel safer on one of the ice roads in Temagami than my daily drive on the 401. Glad your safe and s%it happens!
Last year I kept a few bass from the Grand (Between Cambridge and Paris) and they were the best tasting bass I had ever eaten. Mind you I was very hungry
A couple months ago I got a great deal on an older 6Hp Johnson for the Tinny. So today I decided since it was so nice out to get it running and tune it up.
Well I got everything all set up and the damn thing started first pull Now what am I gonna do for the rest of the night? The thing ran mint. I love those old Johnsons.
(Now I really can't wait until the ice is gone)
Glad to hear you are fine. Could have been a lot worse! I don't think I would ever trust my vehicle on ice, but then again I am not used to seeing them out there!
I decided to go today and take the day off work. It was a good show with lots of stuff. The only thing that I didn't like was the lack of GREAT deals. We ended up going to BPS and wallmart afterwards and got everything I wanted for cheaper than at the show.
Got a new Legend 16 Xtreme (picking up the end of next month), a 8' for the beach at the cottage and a 14 foot tinny with a 6 HP Johnson.
I fish for mainly bass and pike in Long Point. But will be trailering it to Quinte for some Walleye this year.
