Hi Joey I'm reminded all the time by Laurie and that ladies are indeed complicated species, I let her always have her own way if it doesn't hurt me lol.

A man on his Harley was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, God said, 'because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish.' The biker pulled over and said, 'Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.' God replied, 'Your request is materialistic; think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help man kind.' The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, 'God, I wish that I, and all men, could understand women; I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, why she snaps and complains when I try to help, and how I can make a woman truly happy. God replied: 'You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

Seeking OFN Community support for my Daughter
DT10Sam replied to Spiel's topic in General Discussion
I have been voting daily and the first essay is a religious essay and I think they have every church in this country voting for that essay or they found a simple way to sidestep legitimately. Which means fraudulently. I'm still going to continue to vote, never know what might happen in the end. Regards, Sam -

Hi Teressa, Welcome aboard and I need to advise you of something that will be critical to your survival on this board. Do yourself a great big favor and do not post any reports of walleye that you catch (that would be suicidal)..............you will no longer be Daddy's little girl. Regards, Sam

Good Morning Lew and gang, Well I was just brought back to land to day by an air taxicab from an offshore rig in the Bass Strait between Australia and New Zealand. I audit and inspect off shore drilling rigs hopefully preventing the sort of disaster that is going on right now in the Gulf of Mexico. It is winter right now in New Zealand with temperatures hitting +5 Celcius and there is snow on Taranaki Mountain. As many of you know I have not been on OFC for sometime now due to the fact that I’m not sure what country I will be in next and you would think that I have time to fish. I work 6 months of the year and off for 6 months so maybe this year I will be able to attend a few OFC functions. Unfortunately we are not allowed to fish from the rigs as it would be fun ly there are some whales and sharks around the rigs and they normally look for the sea lions that hang around there. It seems the rigs are cover for bait fish and that attracts the sea lions in turn attracting sharks etc. I unfortunately missed a photo op with a great white at the rig and once the rig started drilling the noise scared the sharks away and attracted more sea lions, they’re not dumb they knew they were safe then. Here is a pic of a rig similar to the one that I just left. Here is a pic I took of our taxicab dropping other employees. Here is a couple of pics of the playful sea lions in the area. This pic was given to me and it is Taranaki Mountain and I would have taken the pic but the mountain is in a cloud and it is over cast today as well. Well that is all for now and as soon as I can get our fishing trips organized back In Australia I will be pleased to post pics. I am hoping that I can do this before I get back home to Ontario. Best regards, Sam from the land down under.

I have resorted to sitting on the side lines since I am working overseas and at times can not really post on active threads due to the fact of being out of range for some satellite internet connections etc. Presently I am in Melbourne Australia and finishing up my work here and then heading on Monday to New Zealand for 3 weeks and then Singapore and then back home to Ontario by mid July for some bass fishing and back overseas by the first week of Sept. The worst part is that I have been trying to get together with a couple of guys here to go out on the ocean fishing and things just have not been able to materialize as of yet so when it does happen I will post from somewhere out on the ocean between Australia and New Zealand. Talk to everyone soon, and I will sit on the side and read the threads every so often. Best regards, Sam

Well Lew that is certainly paradise and glad your at peace with your surroundings, I know you will love there. There seems to be a bit of a problem with your second image, the 3 deer that came up your driveway have either multiplied to more very quickly or you are now at the age where you need to get an eye exam All the best to you and your family. Kind regards, Sam

Ordering Fishing stuff from the USA into Canada
DT10Sam replied to rock34's topic in General Discussion
Unless things have changed recently and I doubt it there is a huge tarriff on waders somewhere in the area of 80%. This was set by the government so that it would not destroy the shoe companies in Canada. I would check on it sometimes you can get lucky and get a pair snuck through customs but most will pay dearly. I know dealers are not allowed to bring them into Canada and believe me when I was in the business I tried desperately as our prices here were way too high and the the ones in Bass Pro and Cabelas in the US were alot cheaper and they were quite nice. I struck out but you never know when you will get lucky on this one. Best of luck. Regards, Sam -
Hi Lew, Looks great on the den wall and quite a tribute to your brother. Best regards, Sam

Hi Everyone, Thank you for the kind words as this has been a tough pill to swallow. This auction is a public auction and I will take some pics this weekend of some of the products and will post them here that way some of you will have an idea what is available. Kind regards, Sam

Hi Everyone, I regretfully wish to inform everyone that I have closed Carra outdoor Sports and we will be auctioning off everything that is left in the store. We have tried to run a good business and the result of economic times and big box operations increasing their hunting and fishing supplies namely CT now carrying guns in the Belleville area it is not feasible for us to keep our doors open. The high cost of of doing business rent, insurance for a gun store etc. has made it difficult to continue. The price of the US dollar also effecting our operation where everyone can cross border shop or order from cross border and as a retailer we have no option but to go through Canadian distributors that adds their percentage on the products can make things very costly. We do not blame our customers for shopping cross border as they can get better deals then what we can get. As a result of this and many other factors we have decided not to continue. I have lost my life savings in this business and just recently have accepted a position as an auditor for both on shore and off shore oil and gas wells. I have just returned from working the past 5 weeks in Australia and will be heading there again very shortly and then off to New Zealand. I will be posting from there as soon as my shark fishing trip is arranged. I work 6 months of the year and the other 6 months I will be working in my taxidermy shop that I am presently building. I will be post much later in Spring sometime when I get my taxidermy business back in full swing. I would like to thank the many OFC'ers that have supported our store and I will now have some time to actually get out and fish more and it may be around the world and not just in my back yard at Quinte. I will still contribute in the very near future to some of the fund raisers that OFC'ers organize and with luck fish some of them providing that I am back in Canada. Again many thanks to all of you that support Carra Outdoor Sports............you will not be forgotten, this is still the best forum around the fishing community. Best regards, Sam

There is not a February hunt for Canada Geese any longer. When the province went to Sunday hunting that used up the same amount of additional days in the fall season that would normally be used in February so that was the reason for canceling the February Hunt. As for the MNR they have nothing to do with the Migratory Bird dates or permits whatsoever, this is regulated by the Canadian Wildlife Service and they set the dates in the regulation etc. The Migratory Game Bird Act is a Federal Law and not a Provincial Law and that is the reason why at times you have a R.C.M.P. officer with MNR checking on permits etc. Hope this helps to clear some of the confusion and I feel I just added to it. Best regards, Sam
