  1. Well Sabre tickets are about half the price and they are number 1 in the league...hmmm tells you something. This is why I refuse to go to ACC to see the leafs....plus I get every game right here at home. Been to a leaf game and yes its exciting but over $200 for one game....shoot. I pay .50 cents for leafs tv a month and $50 sattelite and I get all the games...so I choose to stay home and watch. I love the leafs but prices are out of control!
  2. I would call a buddy and say lets go fishing...LOL
  3. nice lookin fish woodro.
  4. from what i remember from some of the lake is it is kinda tea colour. The west end of the lake has old dead trees and stuff. There are some big bass in there....there was a floating dock at the cottage I used to go to and had a trap door we would look down thru it and see monster bass. Some big musky in there too....keep an eye on your kids...the have a habit of roaming the shore and taking swipes at kids...and i am not joking....happened to the kids of the guy I use to visit there. There are alot of big rocks on shore with drop offs from them if I remember....it was like 13 years agao I was there...LOL Plus it is close to stoney lake too....which can be a good bass haven....especially at the end of stoney that ia closer to KAsh
  5. I was there this December and guys were fishing right in the LAgoon there for cudas and getting them. And apperantly just outside the resort there is a cliff and the get huge cudas off there. Hope this helps....if I go next time I am bringing my stuff for sure. As far as I know you don't need a fishing licence either!
  6. I haven't met anyone great but some famous canadians I guess. Sat next to Bruny Surin and Donovan Bailey...2 of canada's all time greats and talked briefly with Bruny at a Canadian Track and Field championships I attended. Plus got pointers from Glenroy Gilbert another top canadian sprinter on the Relay team that won olympic gold. I have met many of Canada's top sprinters. I was also highschool friends with a couple members of the group Three Days Grace. I think the Terry Fox thing would be the best...what an inspiration to us all!
  7. I got this pic from another site....thought the art work was awsome and wanted to share....this rod was custom made by cplummer on this board. I have seen several of his custom rods on another forum and have finally decided to buy one for myself....this rod I think is a frontier X which is a great quality rod. Hope you guys enjoy this pick like I did.... [/url if you guys want a nice custom built rod I would contact him, I have priced these rods and he is hard to beat for prices.
  8. you could try the Niagara bar at the mouth of the niagara river.....tons of lakers there I here, even right now I think they are there most of the winter.
  9. and coodoos to the defenseman holding the forward from pushing it in also!
  10. Thanks to Sam and the other guy at Carra for helping me out last week...even thou I got skunked at Quinte they offered some great info and had some real hardy minnows that lasted like 6 days I think. It was my first time there and I travelled far and they were very helpful and even said I could callhim anytime if I had an emergency. It made me feel good to know that someone I have never met before would be concerned about me cause I was by myself on quinte over night when it was -29 with the wind. Thanks again guys...this comes alittle late, sorry!
  11. ya he is there and so am I....just waiting to be put on a team.
  12. Great read...thanks!
  13. thanks trout....but do you think that it would have alot of contaminents in a lake like that that I think is spring fed.....would be interesting to find out if it does.
  14. ya he had to come like 50 kilometers to get me out, and that was just for coming out there....said it would be more depending on what he had to do...but I am glad I cancelled him....LOL It was a company in Perth...not gonna name names so I don't get into trouble. And I am glad I had a float suit on, and even more thankful I didn't go thru so I could do some fishing. Clampet.....I think i will wear my waders with the float suit after finding out the leeches...LOL Thanks SilveradoSheeriff for your concern...was a heart thumper for sure!
  15. really didn't know they couldn't reproduce...interesting....ministry stocks them so people can fish them and stay away from naturally reproducing lakers and speckies....well from what I know. But man do they hit hard and can fight pretty good...scrappy fish.
  16. they are about 1 pound I would say....I don't know how to Filet without tearing them apart, so I was just wondering if it is possible to eat them with the skin on.
  17. do you skin splake or leave the skin on when cooking...?
  18. well the crappy thing is I looked at the expiry date and it said March 27th....maybe it was from last year....LOL Thanks for the warm thoughts guys I appreciate it...I think I will head there in the summer with a canoe or float tube of some sort, nice and isolated
  19. ya it was bad...haven.t tasted the fish yet....should be tasty. I wish I had a truck...would have been able to get out...LOL I had a small old mazda.....I almost got out but near the top of the hill it starte spinning so I tried to slowly back down and try again...well the back tires hit a rutt and went straight into a ditch.....well thats when I had to hitchhick....LOL. Can't wait to try the fish thou....stocked fish from a isolated spring fed lake....yummy!
  20. If anyone is heading to Blue lake...which is a ministry stocked lake......if you are on the left side of the lake you are fine but if you head to the right kinda near the centre of the lake but only about 100 feet from shore beware...I was walking and sunk in ice and it started to sink so I ran for shore and almost ran into a patch about 2 feet wide of open ice, must be a under water spring or something....so I ran back the way I came and luckily did not go thru the ice. Please stay away from thsi area...stick to the left of the lake. If it hadn't been for me being a former high level sprinter I don't think I would have made it out of there alive, scariest thin gI ever went thru, and my first near miss on the ice. Was a bad day for me.....now I will tell you about the rest of the day. Started off and wanted to head near weslemkoon lake...well couldn't access the lake without a snowmobile (crap)....so the other lake is 45 minutes away so off I go, stop at a rest stop...get a pack of sandwiches...later on start eating the sandwich and taste something funny....entire sandwich is filled with mold, so I nearly puke my face off. So head to the lake and look for the road, of course not labelled....so I guess this rd with a boatlaunch is it so I head down there....and get stuck of course, find out its a snowmobile trail in the winter.....stuck there forever...totalled 10:30-2:30, in the middle of that I hitchhike into town and call a tow truck, of course I am in nowwhere and a tow truck guy wanted $280...ya ok. So the ower of North of 7 Restaurant gets his 4x 4 and goes down and finally gets me out and then I called and cancelled the tow truck...it was 2:45 by this time, I left where I was staying at 7AM, so by this time I am ticked off...and of course to go all that way and not fish would be insane, so I find the lake, drill a hole, nothing...move drill another and nothing...thats when I decided to head to a point and the whole ice thing happened, so I moved near my first spot but more left into shallow water of maybe 7 feet and ended up picking up my first ever 3 splakes in 10 minutes and then sat there for another 1.5 hours with nothing....ended up leaving with my 2 fish limit, I normally don't keep fish but with what I went thru I deserved it...LOL. Plus I spent like about $140 biulding an ice hut and went into a walmart in Peterborough and saw there ice huts for $90 down from $149...crap I said and bought one anyways. Sorry for the rant guys but just wanted to get the warning out!!!
  21. Well 50 point did it...costs money to go in and fish from there marina and the shore of lake ontario....but they fee is to everyone. But that is also a conservation area as well. Niagara on the Lake is all about making money...buggers.
  22. pick it up and fill there mail box right up with it. but of course they may thank you for picking it up off the ground for them.
  23. i called a ut operator and he said he didn't have any recent reports as it has been snowing and nobody has been fishing....
  24. ask your boss what will happen if you go...will you get fired....if he says yes....then if you really wanna go then just quit and find another job....this CEO seems like a prick and will make your life heck if you continue to stay there. It sbetter to quit your job then get fired. And if your ina trade that is in high demand it should be no problem finding another job. Oh ya did i mention this is what I would do.
  25. bump....revised questions!
