any suggestions on Simcoe huts and which areas should i go to . decided to head to simcoe for perch instead of splake....way to cold up past peterborough. Need a hut operator in the middle of jumbo heaven please...LOL Lefroy.....beaverton or gilford......

yes I am ...tomorrow...guess i will head out earlier i guess....gonna take me awhile to get to Quinte, as I am coming from Niagara Falls. I am getting mixed reports for places....some say near Belleville and some say near Picton...don't know where to go...LOL. Well the report for quinte says 5cm....but a wind temp of -29....that will suck...hopefully not real heavy winds...LOL

of course there is....cause Charlie planned a fishing trip from Tuesday to Monday....figures!

I don't think your in the business to rip off....been reading your post...you seem very honest...just had a rough Saturday on scugog and going back to that bait shop made it worse. I will check that site out and more than likely head there on tuesday....what time you open till?

where abouts is carra outdoors be....address please so I can mapquest it.... I knew there was a bait ban south of 401 but just thought that bay of quinte is south of it and the same body of water I got the minnows from it would be ok, oh well...I still plan on buying minnows thou. Just thought I could cut my costs abit on minnows...felt I got ripped on Scugog...guy told me I should buy 2 dozen minnows for all day....I only used 3 minnows( yes 3 all day, lively buggers) and it cost me $10....could have bought lures for that price....LOL. And they wouldn't take the minnows back either...so I ended up giving them to a guy that came in to buy minnows!

Since I got the big skunk at Scugog on sat I have decided to head to Bay of Quinte solo instead on Tuesday night....I will be arriving sometime around 5pm I hope. I have a map of the lake with depths and stuff. I need some info on Bait shops in the areas of were the fish are...LOL. I won't give anyones spots away as I am going bymyself. Also if the bait ban is for not bringing bait north of 401 can I bring a few from Niagara area I got out of the niagara as it is the same body of water technically...I have some left over from fishing the lower niagara. I only have a few so I need to know where the bait shops are so I can pick up more as I will be fishing all night long. Is the bite better during the night time....heard walleye are more active at night. Pm me if you guys have to. The more info the better as all I have caught this winter is small perch ice fishing....and its getting so frustrating. Please help a frustrated ice angler!!

don't worry i got skunked there too......guess scugog has no fish....LOL. 6 hours sitting in a chair in the wind with no fish I got pretty frustrated and angry....then realized i was so cold so the anger and frustration went away!

I am sure you can.....you just have to buy a canadian subscription is all. I have 2 sirius radios and love them. Most of them just go by the serial number on the back of the unit to get the signal to that radio.....but you can't get a US subscription unless you can get a US address to hook it up with!

and put a top on it and you have almost a hut...put in a little heater in front of you and it would work well....if my folding hut plan doesn't work out I may try that...thanks clampet!

I went Marlin fishing in Cabo san Lucas, Mexico.....only got 1 marlin but it was really windy and waves gallour. For excellent Marlin and Durado fishing try and pick a calm day if you can.....the fish feed near the surface and you can see the tail in the water. I know its hard to pick a calm day but if you can book a trip a few days in advance it might work out better for you as I booked mine like a good month or 2 in advance, this way you can get an idea of what the water will be like if you book a day or 2 in advance!

Well at least you can get your lady out on the ice....LOL. Your lucky know one tried to kick you off were you were fishing....had a guy last year try and kick me off the ice around a hut...when the winds were 60km and like -29 that day....needless to say I won the battle of words. Didn't think that hut operators owned the ice...the guy tried telling me they owned the ice around the hut to a certain footage....I just laughed.....congrats on getting out there...was a cold day!

sorry to hear...same thing happened to me last year on simcoe...travelled from Niagara Falls get on the ice and wind started up, couldn't put up my hut...got pissed off and just sat there on a bucket for 6 hours....wasn't gonna go home after that long drive...no way! I look back and I think I should have kept some perch but I don't like to keep fish! Next time it will be good for you I hope

oh man you lucky bugger...those are my 2 favourite teams....I tried to get tickets to that game but was sold out....have fun at the game!

is there anyway you can put a filter type thing around the intake...like a screen or something....a netting...so the water can get thru but not the minnnows. I would say get some kind of netting and wrap around the filter tube intake and have a zip tie and tie it tight around the shaft...make sure the screening you use has larger holes as so it doesn't get a backup and allows the water to flow freely...hope this helps

Guys I have a small Mazda mx3...smallest they ever made....I am heading to scugog off ceasarea on the night of Feb 13...do you guys think it will be thick enough by then to hold my car. I need it for warmth as I have bad circulation problems in my feet and can't stay out in the cold very long even with really good boots....plus I have no ice hut either....any help would be great....last I heard there was like 6-8" there!

I have had the same thing happen...they called me on a friday at 4:30...I live in the falls and there in Hamilton...and close at 5pm...well it had been there since the wednesday and I went to pick it up at noon on monday and they charges me from the wed to and including the monday for impound charges...plus the tow...criminals I tell ya.....they are almost as bad as the guys that stole the vehicle.....I also had the insurance coverage and paid $3000 for the car amonth before and they cracked the whole frame so it wasn't even drivable or worth putting back on the road....just my 2 cents and I feel your pain and frustration! Sorry to hear brother!

well if you have nothing do what I do with my fishing rods...run it thru your hair...those oils will not freeze....LOL. And if your worried about dirt don't worry if your like me you shower as soon as you get home anyways!
