  1. Welcome. Nice ski. I am going to get one of those next year
  2. I need a floater suit. Should I get a one piece or 2 piece? Mustang, Helly Hansen or something else? How much should I pay and where should I get it? Sorry for all the questions.
  3. salmon- 39" 25+lbs hen st. marys river What makes you think this is a hen???? lol
  4. LOL I grew up in Barrie but moved away for about 15 years. Just before coming back I lived in Abu DHabi and Dubai for 8 years. My wife is from England and 2 out of my 3 kids were born in the middle east. Although I moved back in the summer, the first thing I bought aside from a car was a snowblower. Just like Rizzo says it has been the best money ever spent. Has been a must for the past 3 winters, especially last year.
  5. Snow blowed the driveway already. Thick and heavy. I would say close to 12 inches and it is still snowing.
  6. WOW!!! Now that is a good day of eye fishin. Congrats on all the big fish
  7. Randy got caught. He had a good game plan but got caught by a big guy.
  8. Not sure who is doing the forecasts but we have been getting dumped on since about 5 pm. It is now 1 am and it is still coming down. There must be close to 12 inches of snow. I live on a hill and I see that there are 4 cars parked at the bottom of my street unable to make it up. I just got back from the fights and driving is brutal. I guess these things can just sneak up on you. Anyone to the south getting snow?
  9. Bar Dooleys or Boston Pizza
  10. Back in the late 80s I used to catch a few largies and even the odd pike just out from Tiffen launch. I too thought it might be the tournament releases sticking around the bay. I used to catch a bunch of small 10" smallies from the shore (in front of south shore center before it was there) so maybe they have since grown up reproduced etc. Either way I won't ever complain about having world a class smallmouth fishery in my back yard.
  11. I know what you mean. I grew up here and never fished it either. I used to always make the trip to cook's bay. I moved back after being away for 15 years and now I find that the smallies are right here in my back yard. I wonder if they have always been here or is it a recent phenomenon? Anyone know if they always came in during the fall season even back in the late 80s early 90s?
  12. Nice fish guys! Good to see BillM get some chrome. That is one mean looking brown.
  13. Yeah it is pretty sweet. Almost 12' with about a 4' beam. Leaks like mad and is very tippy. Powered by a 6hp Yammy. Nice rig. lol. Got everything for free except the rod holders that I bought from BPS for $10. I also spent about $20 on stainless nuts and bolts and $5 for some wood to beef up the transom. I also have a homemade trailer (free and ungly) and the tow vehicle is a 1985 Ford f150 on its last legs. Who says teachers make too much money?
  14. LOL! yeah if you are from here you already know. I don't mind as the Extreme Agler show already filmed there last year.
  15. Although I never want to bet against Couture, you can't overlook the fact that Lesnar controlled and overpowered Heath Herring, who is not a can. If it goes to ground Couture has a chance to sub Lesnar. We'll see. Should be fun no matter what.
  16. Hey Mark, Thanks for the tips that make this possible
  17. Despite the rain and wind I managed to get out on Simcoe for some fall smallmouth action. A north wind allowed me to drift fish perfectly. Got on the water at 7:30 am and by 8:30 I had 3 already in the boat. Despite fishing for smallies for 20+ years, my PB until now has been about 4.5 pounds. Today that changed. I beat that PB 3 times. My first fish of the day was 5.3 pounds. My second fish was 3.2 pounds. My big fish of the day was a monster. Acording to my scale it was exactly 7.0 pounds. My last fish came about 1 hour later and weighed in at 5.8 pounds. All the fish were VERY fat. The pictures might not do them justice but they were very thick indeed. That big fish had a huge girth and it measured very close to 22". You have to be very aware of your bait at all times because all the strikes were very subtle. I lost 2 other fish as well. All in all a very fun morning. I got off the water at 11:30 am. 3.2 pounder 5.3 pounder 5.8 pounder 7.0 pounder 7.0 again
  18. LOL! Ontario record holder for all species. Nice job. Too bad you have no pics

  22. Thanks Did you get the walleye in Balsam or Lake St. John? Anyone know what kind of wter clarity there is there? I was going to use braid but if it is clear like simcoe I will use fluoro or mono.
  23. I am thinking of fishing this small lake for some eyes. Anyone ever fished it? Where is the public launch? What species besides walleye inhabit the water? Any help would be appreciated.
