  1. Are you guys getting charged duties and taxes on this stuff? Who do they ship with? UPS/Fed ex or USPS?
  2. Nice fish. Good job!
  3. The guy in the back is really a monkey that just presses a button to play a pre-recorded message. I only order online from them if at all.
  4. I got Avid Angler award in '05 and '06. Didn't submit anything last year. Hey, its fun. Sometimes I think they need to play closer attention to some of the entries they approve. Some look like they measured the fish in centemeters, then posted it as inches using the same number. LOL! But other than a chuckle about it, who cares really?
  5. Are you spooling up all 10 colors? You could put the core on something like a med action Shimano TDR trolling rod, but still, your lead core setup is still going to be a "meat stick" no matter what you do. Copper line might give you more feel if it’s the fight of the fish you're after. I'm not well versed in copper line, but a simple internet search may shed some insight. Also, have you tried Slide Divers? Like a dipsy diver but you can leave as long of a lead off the diver as you want. When it releases, it slides down the line and stops at the swivel. This set up may produce for you if you're looking at mimicking the stealth of the lead core. You will lack the vertical roll you get from core line though.
  6. Here's a suggestion. As mentioned, invest in a longer spinning rod. 8'6"-10'. If you can find one on sale, pick up a St. Croix Wild River rod. They're and awesome rod and you won't be disappointed. You can use the longer rod for the tribs, for peer casting, or if you have a boat (or buds who do), drifting the Niagara. Also good to have for casting slip floats. In fact, if you're shore fishing a lot, it'll quickly become your rod of choice.
  7. Sure, I'll help out the newbie and the thousands of internet lurkers. Lake Ontario. Its full of fish. Get out there and fish, talk to people, meet people, fish with people. That's how you learn.
  8. I use http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ Allows you to creat a DVD menu as well with background music.
  9. Well I wasn't about to post where the early season night spots are on a public forum. But yes Billy Bob, you're right. Though generally speaking, if someone were to ask me "where and when" to fish lake Erie for walleye within 1-2 hours of Kitchener, I'd stick with my response. Mostly to avoid complicated and/or over revealing information.
  10. Fishing on lake erie for walleye doesn't really heat up until July. You can get them in June as well, may have to search a bit. Most fish are still on the spawn or are getting ready to. When done, fish from the Detroit river migrat east, and fish in the upper niagara migrate west. Well, that's the jist of it anyways. Anyways... where to launch. Port Colborne, Port Maitland, Port Burwell to name 3.
  11. Sure, why not. Help is only a phone call away.
  12. Hey, there's this cat around our place that keeps spraying our house doors. This, in turn, causes our house cats (both fixed females) to pee by the door. This cat is owned buy the lowlife accross the street, but not cared for. I've thought of a few things. A 2x4 with nails in it... anti freeze... a bag of rocks. Anyways, as you can tell, no good ideas. So I called the SPCA. They said they won't get the cat. I said, can I live trap it. They said yes, BUT if the cat is hurt in any ways (and by hurt, they mean that even a stressed out cat is hurt), I could be charged. So, I said this, and I quote... "So you won't come get the cat, but if I trap the cat, and bring it to you, and its hurt or tramatized, you'll charge me?" They said yes. So I replied "So what you're telling me to do is trap the cat myself, put it in a bag with some rocks and throw it in the river at night?" They got a little annoyed.
  13. You have much to learn young Jedi. Dipsy Diver Flasher Down rigger Stacker Those are just some words off the top of my head, but if you don't know what they are, you have some reading to do. Try http://www.spoonpullers.com As for your launch location, they're out there, but that part of the lake doesn't generally heat up for a while.
  14. I hope he looks good in orange coveralls.
  15. Oh I went yesturday. Didn't use any marshmellows though.
  16. 1985? Is that the last time you went fishing?
  17. I would recommend a the book 'Steelhead Float Fishing' by Jim Butler All the information you asked for + more. It’s a good read.
  18. A lost of fish aren't even done spawning yet. Depends on the trib. There was a lot of fishing pressure yesturday and today. Many times the fish will drop into the deep pools and hold tight. Out of sight, out of mind.... and guys will say "I'm not seeing them, I'm not catching them, they must be gone to the lake."
  19. I am Gravyboat. I like to fish, so I joined this site. Just saying hi!
