People selling like this should be more that ashamed they should be charged with fraud. I can't believe such an obvious fraud has not caught the attention of the police or at least OMVIC.

Going and making as big a stink at OMVIC would not be a waste of time. This issue is literally their job the stupid pieces. There must be multiple complaints. You might want to go to you provincial riding office to get your rep to get OMVIC off the pot
-
Bill is correct, take them to court...FAST, because the next thing we will hear about XWRP is that they have gone bust. This is what happened to International Warrenty years ago leaving everyone in the lurch. What a ridiculous situation for OMVIC to allow. They must spend their days over there sitting on there hands drinking coffee waiting for the next wage negotiations.

The future of Diesel. Is there one? NF
Snidley replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Nissan/Infinity have just launched a gas engine that essentially uses compression similar to it's use in diesel engines to gain torque and better mileage in a pasenger car, the Altima, and a lux SUV from Infinity. It has been generally well recieved I hear. Working in any industry that utilizes local markets and customers has to be better than going up against Mexico, Asia etc in any way shape or form of business. All of these issues for our kids pale in comparison to the mathmatical reality of deficit finance covering governmental responsibilities however. I read an opinion piece recently where the author used the latest US Federal financial status report that illustrated, convincingly for me, that the actual US Federal deficit is actually $ 75 Trillion. That's considerably more than the worlds total GDP and if it's that bad in the USA it's likely far worse here as we allow our provinces to run annual deficits, and they DOOOOOO. Big time. That bombshell will have to be addressed at some time in our kid's future and it dwarfs all else IMO. -

Snidley replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I just got a Golf diesel wagon. I hope diesel's around for a little while so I can get to the lake this year. Combustion engines should be around for the near future even in passenger cars as despite the urging of greenies the most sensible vehicles still rely on fossil fuel. We will cook as the human race however. I suppose that's a bad tradeoff? -
View Advert 2 St Croix rods for sale Selling 4 fishing rods. 1) St Croix Avid 10'6" baitcasting steelhead rod AVC106MLF2 rated 6-10lb. This is a float rod for stellhead that I got for the Niagara and Saugeen. I have not been to either of theose places in several years. This rod is BRAND NEW. It has never left the house $200 CDN 6) St Croix Ledgend Tournament 7'10" Magnum Cranker cast rod TBC710HM rated 12-25lb. I bought this rod off pro staff Mike Borger and it is a great cast rod for bigger cranks and chatter baits. This one has a split grip. The only reason I'm selling it is that I have the older full cork version of the rod and i prefer it because it is also a great trolling rod for me out of my pontoon and the split grip won't work in that application. This is a slightly used rod but is still very nice. $225CDN Advertiser Snidley Date 04/06/2019 Price 200.00 CAD Category Fishing Classifieds

Family cottage burnt down - need advice
Snidley replied to FishFinder17's topic in General Discussion
Some one, like Pikeslayer, who has been through it more than once is a fantastic resource. The advice to get the family together onsight to go through every room is also on point. It's been years since I was involved with general insurance but I can say without reservation that if you let them they will low ball you EVERY TIME. That's one of the ways they get paid. It used to be that an independant insurance agent, as opposed to an employee of a direct writer like State Farm , Co Operators etc, would go to bat for you but I believe those days are long gone. Independant insurance brokers often struggle with issues of loss ratio, and exclusion by underwriters that makes them company men as much as the employees of the big direct writers. The best is to have a close friend as your insurance representative be they employed by the big guys or as independant brokers canvassing multiple underwriters for the best deal. I hope this all works out for you as I'm sure it's currently very stressfull -

Don't go for the first offer from the insurance company. Quickest is almost never the best settlement -
An 820 seems like it would be a very limp rod. Literally a zero powered rod would have zippidy do da lifting power. I had an IMX 9000s and it took ages to lift even brown trout at the Niagara Bar. You never lost any fish but it was like fishing with line made out of an elastic band. The rod is a G Loomis so I guess there must be some well established methodology to such a light action but I can't see the actual catching part of the excercise to be very stimulating. Let us know what it's like when you get a decent hookup

I'm told the best drop shot rod ever was the Daiwa Cielo version (the original Cielo not the recent cheap version). It was made from the same SVF graphite(and it's labled on the rod) as Steeze rods but it had a solid TITANIUM tip that enhanced tactile feel on the rod as well as signaling light bites. They are older rods (2005)so you would have to search them out online to find a used one. I have 2 Cielo rods from this original version's line up and I really love them as they are super high quality rods. The originals are a grey/purple/blue flip flop coloured graphite and the later cheap version was a blue colour I believe. Here's Tackle Tour's review http://tackletour.com/reviewdaiwacielorod.htmlt I'm not a dropshot fan as I seem to attract dinks when I try it.

Chinese people like them so much the have been fished out in many places in China. I say put a big effort into commercial fishing these critters. There was a commercial fishing derby on these things a few years ago and the winner netted over 30,000lbs in 2 days of fishing. The fish is a plankton feeder so it is probably one of the lowest contamination fish available from the Mississipi watershed. I'm told they taste very similar to walleye but have lots of small bones and thus are best served as fish cakes. I also agree that closing the shipping canal in Chicago would be a very good idea.

Kingston area eastern Lake Ontario salmon/trout fishing
Snidley replied to RoyL's topic in General Discussion
To the best of my knowledge they go there from the Niagara area in early season. I would say around May would be best. There have been several shows on Sportsman Channel recently reguarding the eastern basin of Lake O and salmon were shown as a possibility by the guides featured. The when and where I can't say for sure but check Bob Izumi's site and Angler and Hunter TV's site as they were the shows that had eastern Lake Ontario featured last week. These shows should direct you to the guides involved and I'm sure they can help.. -
I'm with Porkpie on this. The small tackle swaps are more fun, better deals and free parking too.

Virtually all new car dealerships have an F&I administrator and they all offer after purchase packages because there's way more profit in the finance, warranty, rustproofing etc than profit in the sale of the car itself. Yes the dealer principal can make loads of money from bonus programs and incentives from the OEM's but they never seem to count that revenue when looking at day to day operation of the business. Kickbacks from financial institutions, huge markups from warranties and chemical aftermarket add ons like rustproofing, fabric protection make for a very lucrative day to day opportunity for dealers. These business factors drive the consolidation of OEM brands under dealer groups. This is what pundits are talking about when they discuss consolidating multiple brands under one back store at a dealer group. The problem, as always, when business "improves" operational efficiancy is that the consumer gets screwed virtually 100% of the time. This is what has happened here, the dealership made money (probably 50%) the warranty scheme made money (the other 50%) and the consumer got screwed (lost 100%).
