After all the hype of the big scoring team, I was looking forward to watching last nights game. HMMMM I didnt get a chuckle. Im sure Matt did though. LOL

Some good stories guys. Fun read. Doug, when I first moved to Barrie, I started fishing down from the iron bridge. I would walk all the way down to the boarder line. That was a nice hole and really never seen anyone most of the times. Well except a mama bear one time. I offered up a salmon so she would let me live to fish another day. Hey Harold. I met another one of yer buddies this week. He says you are full of fish stories. LOL

The local rocks. LOL The knee,s took a beat,n the last 7/8 days on the river, so did a bit of lazy layed back perch fishing. Stayed away from the hoards and just found a nice quiet place to myself. Hot coffee,terns diving for shiners,loons doing the same. Seen 3 lakers swimming around the rock piles. Lots of dink perch to be had, but was a nice way to spend a few hours this morning. Chunked up some shrimp and pressed some salt in it. Seems to work. LOL

Hey MR.B If am not mistaken, the R-TYPE has been discontinued. I can personally say I was happy with their ice rod models, til they started breaking at the tips. I got a replacement last season ans it broke at the tip again. Im sure there is a reason they discontinued them.

Hard to tell by the photo, but I am guessing 8-10lb. That is a dime size roe bag. It was very thick. I do know it,s not a white sucker. I believe Mikey caught one of these a few years back.

Your float goes down,set the hook and there is some serious weight on the end. At first I thought maybe a late run salmon. Then I see some flash. OH YA,big steel head. I'm all giddy up and playing this fish as it was the trophy fish. 10 minutes of a great battle,I get to see what was on the end of the line. Not a salmon, not a steel head, but this gorgeous colorful fish from the carp family. I have only caught 1 of these before many years ago. I believe they are red horse ???? These fish are so powerful. Anyways, that was one of my moments of this morning. The other was, first drift,steel head on. When that happens, I know there aint anymore. LOL

Nice Simon. I had a couple of deer visit me this morning on the river. I like the latex gloves as well. I use black ones. I have been wetting my hands then putting them on. Also don't use tight ones. One size up works great.Seems to work for me retaining heat.

That was one cold morning. Best part of it though was the 2 deer that walked up beside me for a drink from the river. Very cool.

So my truck is basic.2014. Just a key to enter and start. NO FOB. Can I get an remote starter with a fob?

Todays turnip, is not turnip. Turnip use to boil soft in 3/4 hour and have a nice bright yellow to it. This root veggie called rutabaga, seems to be the new so called turnip, and seems to boil for hours and still be hard, no matter the size of dicing I do. And the flavor is not there. Another veggie that is hard to find these days is vegie marrow. A classic dish from my past. Stuff it the same as stuffed peppers. As for cabbage, I am a big fan of the savoy. Nice and light and very tasty.

I should fess up. My rims are already steel. So no matter what I put on them,they work. OOPS. ?
